Cruise Movies - What do you Watch?

There's a thread out there for cruise music but we need one for cruise movies. Is there anything that you watch leading up to your cruise to "get you in the mood"? If it's a DCL cruise, do you watch certain Disney movies? Cruises in general, I have a hard time finding the right thing to watch!

Yes, I'm strange. For years, my sister and I have had 5 baseball movies that we watch in the weeks prior to Opening Day. It's just a THING I do!

As soon as I'm done with finals, I'm going to sit down and watch:

The first season of The Love Boat
Out to Sea (Walter Matthau and Jack Lemmon) - this one is hysterical and a must see.

Now.....I want to hear yours!

Titanic
The Poseidon Adventure
Ghost Ship

:rolleyes1

I just watched Titanic again in the theater and I'm going to do everything just like Rose on my cruise next month: find a cute peasant boy who has a surprisingly vast knowledge of surviving a sinking and let him take care of me. :rotfl:

Depending on where you are sailing to Lilo and Stitch will get you in a tropical mood, 1998 Parent Trap has some nice cruisy parts if you want to remember Lindsey when she was cute. And there's always Speed 2: Cruise Control.

My DS8 and DS7 like to watch The Suite Life (cruise version) - I forgot the actual title but it was a show on the Disney Channel. We get the reruns via Netflix.

It is something everyone in the family can watch :) - it's actually wholesomely funny without being too childish. So even the adults get a few laughs.

You're thinking of "The suite life on deck". I watch the travel channel dcl video

I watch "Out to Sea," too. I LOVE that movie! (Then again, I'm a die-hard fan of Jack Lemmon.) I watch that movie ONLY before I go on a cruise though. (Don't want to think how long I have to wait if it's a long way out.)

I also play my Disney CDs while in my car.:)

Speed 2?

Pirates of the Caribbean (of course!)

Ship of Fools

Fools Gold (more tropical treasure hunting than cruisey)

There really are not a lot of good movies I can think of in the sailing realm.

I have 2 versions now, the older one with the Magic/Wonder and the newer Dream.

You can request it online from the DCL website for free...incidentally, maybe they have a new one for the Fantasy?

We were on the Magic when Wall-E prem-eared. We watched the film that evening in a packed theatre. It was surreal watching a movie about a massive cruise ship in space, where people ate so much they were too fat to walk... especially after I had barely been able to walk out of my restaurant after my huge dinner!

So... Wall-E always reminds me of cruising on a Disney ship, now. ;)

I receive a similar effect when I watch Holes, and soon to be John Carter. :)

I've got the older one with the Magic/Wonder but don't know where it is. My kids probably have it; I'll have to get it back. I'll check the website and see if there is a new one for Fantasy.

Titanic and the Original Posideon Adventure are not my choices to watch before my cruise........( lol). I can't wait until my July 8th cruise!! I have to get the magnets and FE gifts ready. Hey, Mickey here we come.
