I want Moroccan! I want Japanese! I ONLY want BURGERS! Food to go???

Yet again we’ve come to another “rose-lined” road block! My youngest won’t try anything new so it’s burgers or chicken fingers for her. My DH won't eat Moroccan. My oldest wants Japanese, and I want to try Tangierine Café so we can eat outside, hear Mo’Rockin play and enjoy the scenery.

So, I’ve thought of a solution, if we can actually do this. Can we split up and get “food to-go” from Liberty Inn and Katsura Grill while I order from Tangierine and meet at one of the outside tables to enjoy lunch together?

I’ve searched & searched :surfweb: for “to-go” food here at Dis but have only succeeded at finding food folks bring to the park. Any help will be greatly appreciated! Also, if this can be done will it be served on trays or in – easier to carry – bags?

Thanks so much!
Shay

If you order from a CS, all food is to go and you can carry it anywhere you want.

But they don't have, bags, carry out containers, drink holders, etc. So you just carry a tray with plates and drinks. They maybe be able to offer you another plate to go on top and maybe some foil.

At one time all the food at the Mexican CS was in clamshell containers but no more.

Can you ever order food to go for TS?

Some times, it depends on the CM at the door.

There are reports of people getting bread and soup at LeCellir (sp?) but mostly no.

All TS at WDW is not really setup for to go. The surest thing to do is make an ADR, sit, order and when the food comes ask for to go boxes.

They tried it at Olivia's but guests on the DDP where upset that they were charged a TS vs a CS credit.

I have read that you can go to the Brown Derby sit at the bar, order a drink and request something small from their menu to go. (like their cobb salad) They also do this at the Prime time cafe. People have orderd milkshakes to go along with a menu item. I have yet to try this but plan on doing so during our next trip because like you I have picky eaters;). So I hope Disney allows this (It would help on soooo many levels)

usually get food from two or three places when doing CS at Epcot. I haven't paid much attention to the seating at Tangerine Cafe to know how well it works. We usually meet at Liberty Inn and eat inside or out depending on the weather. There is plenty of seating.

That included a couple of meals from the older Japanese CS location. Last trip they were still working on the new one.

There is no bar at the Brown Derby to sit at or order from. You would need to ask at the podium and they may or may not let you get a salad to go.

There is one at Prime Time and I know they will put milkshakes/drinks in plastic cups for carryout but I don't know anything about whether or not they will box up full meals to go.

During our December trip DH grabbed Tangerine Cafe while DD and I grabbed Boulangerie Patisserie. The food was on trays. We ate in a little fake grass area with tables between the two. We just returned the trays when we were done. Now those two are close together, and Liberty Inn isn't too far away. Japan may be a little far to do this though.

On some trips we stop at one place and share a meal. Walk around to another and share another meal. Perhaps your husband and child might try a bite of Tangerine Cafe and actually like it.

Japan is between America and Morocco, so it certainly isn't too far away to grab CS food at each of those places and eat somewhere in that area.

Definitely. We've done this with Mexico, China and America (ate in America) with great results. Not a problem at all. Even saw a group of 13 with each person getting something from a different country and meeting back in America. As long as you are buying something from the country in which you are sitting, you will be fine.

We travel with a party of 8. last year 3 wanted CS from Germany, 2 wanted CS from Japan the 3 others wanted CS from America. We all went and got what we wanted and brought our lunch back to America.

YAY!!! Thank you all so very much! This will be perfect then and everyone will be happy! :dance3: :dance3:

I surely do hope they will at least try a few bites of the "weird" food, they really don't know what they're missing. But, if not well that's just more for me!

Thanks again!

This is really weird... I posted a huge Thank you for all that helped with my question. However, it seems to have gotten mingled together with a post from "Kevin". Really strange!

Anyway, a huge thank you to everyone for their reponses! Now everyone will be happy! :dance3: I do hope they at least try a bite of the "weird" food, but if not - well then MORE for ME! :goodvibes

Thanks again!

I think the server is acting weird today...lol

anyway, we've done this often too. Epcot is actually one of the easiest places. I usually make sure we have a good restaurant app on my phone at the time so that everyone can see where they're going and then we head off.

I think the server is acting weird today...oops, just got this message when trying to post (haven't they been upgrading the servers for years and years??
We will be upgrading to some new servers over the next 10 days or so
There will be some occasional periods of downtime as we get ready to migrate
Like now :)
We should be back up in an hour or so

Thanks for your patience
Alex

Good (well not really) I am just glad it wasn't "human" error on my part... still kinda new at this!

That's what I was hoping since there's so many options at Epcot and I want to try them all! I'll definately get the app as we get closer. Thanks for your help!

Also I think this thread is corrupted I see a new post was added 4:03 PM EST but its not here.

But now that I just posted it look ok.

During our January trip we went to the exact three places you mention, we went to Morocco first where one member of our party ordered and food was packed to go in styrofoam containers, then to Japan where two members of our party ordered and food was also packed to go with lids, and finally went to Liberty Inn where the last member of our party ordered and where we all ate.
