When planning your trip to WDW, do you stick to your familiar old standby restaurants or do you always try to include some new ones? I am a robot and like the familiar, but since it has been 3 yrs since last visit, I see there are some new restaurants that I haven't heard of or tried.

I would like to try Via Napoli and Paradiso. What are your thoughts on these? TIA

I want to know too. We went to 'Ohana in 2010 and loved it but I think we want to try something new. Actually, I have a few new ones I want to try but need to eliminate some.

We try to do a good mix of old standbys and new experiences. On our upcoming trip to Disneyland we're trying one new sit-down restaurant and several that we've visited before. This fall at WDW, we'll be trying three restaurants that are new to us and revisiting, I think, six old favorites.

Been years since I went to WDW and besides the Mexican resturant I cannot remember where we ate.

I have been on here and allears looking at menus to narrow down what looks good.

My biggest problem is the family. They do not like to try stuff and have numerous food hang ups. Myself I will eat about anything.

In the past I've tended to stick to my standby restaurants due to commando touring....all counter service while in the parks, with the occasional Rainforest Cafe meal or Orlando non disney sit down restaurant when not touring. My upcoming trip, however, has free dining so I am looking forward to trying new things. I have seven ADRs now that I've struggled over as I am trying all new restaurants. Hopefully I will like this experiment!

We have our must dos which include Akershus breakfast, Cape May Cafe breakfast, Le Cellier Lunch, and California Grill. But, we like to add in a few that we haven't done yet too, and for our next trip that will include Fulton's Crabhouse and Hollywood Brown Derby. We also eat at places we have eaten before but try it at different dining times for instance we have eaten at Boma's dinner but will be trying breakfast for the first time and then to finish off our dining plans we are heading back to restaurants that we haven't gone to in a couple of trips/years (Coral Reef, Kona Cafe, LTT dinner, and Artist Point).

To answer your question about Via Napoli and Paradiso, and between the two, we have only eaten at Via Napoli and we really enjoyed ourselves...the pizzas are so fresh and yummy and the dessert there which are the fried ricotta cheese balls that you dip into chocolate and whip cream are just heavenly (sorry I forgot the actual name of them). However, I did find the pizza I had (we did the personal pizzas) to be a bit on the greasy side which made my stomach hurt after I ate it, I had the pepperoni pizza, but all in all I wouldn't hesitate to go back there.

We have our favs - LTT, Le Cellier and O'Hana, but we add one or two new restaurants every trip. This year we are going to Maya Grill (we are staying at CSR) and we are dining with the princesses in Norway.:goodvibes

I like to try new places, and new foods, whenever possible, but I have so many favorites now that it's hard. I really enjoy eating at the signature restaurants, and with their seasonal menus I am almost always having a completely different meal each time.

A bit of both...

This will only be my 2nd trip, but I am sticking with Tusker House breakfast since we loved it and i'm adding a few new ones, such as: Via Napoli, Crystal Palace, Flying Fish, etc.

I'm sure after this trip, however, there will be more "usuals" added to my list, but I will always try, at least, a few new dining experiences whenever I get to go back to Disney!

We tend to try at least three new restaurants while visiting WDW. Our family gets together and rates our dinner experiences on our last trip. The three or four that come in last are taken off the list.

Of these two we have only been to Via Napoli and would highly recommend it. It was probably one of the best TS we had last trip. The pizza is delicious (ours wasn't greasy... we had the margarita pizza) as well as the plated entrees. Definitely worth a trip! :thumbsup2

My goal is to eat at all Disney restaurants... I only have 1 of the Disney owned restaurants left (V&A), but we're waiting for a special celebration before we drop that cash. In the meantime, we've been working our way back through the restaurants to try different meals.

DISNEY DINING

We tend to stick to our favorites. We're not big on dining experiences and my kids hate to take park time to do TS meals (even character ones, for the most part...they figure they see the characters in the parks) so we're more of a QS sort of family. And we have places we like that have more than the standard chicken fingers and mac and cheese for my girls, so we just hit those when we're hungry.

We do a mixture of both. Our last trip, I think we had 3 ADRs at restaurants that we hadn't been to before and 5 that we had. This next trip, I'm cutting back on sit down meals and only have 6 ADRs, and only one of those is new to us. The more we go, the more "must do" favorites we have, and that leaves us torn between going to meals we know we really like and trying something new.

I always tend to go to familiar places, but usually I will try out at least one new place each trip. During my next trip I am going on (in 8 days!! :woohoo: ) I am forcing myself to try all new places!!! :scared1: I hope it all works out for me (which I am sure it will!)

Count us as one of the families that does a bit of both during each trip. We have two restaurants that we eat at during every visit - Crystal Palace (Dinner) and Cape May Cafe (Dinner). We may include other restaurants that we've visited in the past but we always add at least two new restaurants each trip. We also tend to pick new restaurants that are near where we're staying for that trip (we're DVC members). For this upcoming vacation, we will be trying Narcoossee's and La Hacienda de San Angel.

Enjoy!

DISNEY DINING

This is really helpful, thanks!:thumbsup2 I am going to check it out in depth when I get home from work...I really want to open it now, but I don't think my boss would be too happy LOL! ;)

I am glad to hear the good reports on Via Napoli. My family is from Naples area, so I am very interested in dining there.

While I have my favorites and visit them frequently, we love trying new restaurants each trip. You never know when you'll find a new favorite.

We mix it up - there are places like Crystal Palace for Breakfast & Kona for dinner that are musts for us. We do like try a few new places every trip though. For our upcoming trip Cape May for dinner & breakfast (staying at Beach Club) will be new for us along with ESPN & La Hacienda

On our last trip Via Napoli was one of our new restaurants. Although we aren't going there this trip we lived it and will go back!

We like to try new restaurants. We usually do mostly new with a few favorites. I have not been to either of the restuarants you asked about.
