Grand Floridian Cafe versus Captain's Grille for Breakfast

I'm in the process of planning my next trip to WDW and I'm trying to choose between Grand Floridian Cafe and the Captain's Grille for breakfast. Both have items that look pretty good.

I've never been to Captain's Grille (for any meal), so that makes it pretty tempting. How is the food? How is the service?

I've been Grand Floridian Cafe for lunch and dinner and neither time was the experience very good. The service was slow (lunch) and slow and crabby (dinner - the server was definitely mad about something because she kept pulling other servers aside and having hushed conversations with them). So, how is the breakfast foods and how is the service?

If you had to choose between Captain's Grille and Grand Floridian Cafe for BREAKFAST, which would you choose and why?

We love GF for a relaxed meal - both breakfast and dinner. Food has always been excellent and service has been good too. We now make it a tradition to have GF as our last meal of the trip. It has been many years since we have done Capn Grill for breakfast so I won't give an opinion on that.

I love Captain's Grille breakfast. It's calmer and more relaxing than many other restaurants, and you have the choice of a good buffet or à la carte items. The breakfast menu was recently updated and includes some exciting new choices (I'd love to try the citrus-infused french toast or the dark chocolate waffles). :goodvibes

The new items at Captain's Grille sound great, but I have always opted for the buffet. I try to go there for breakfast once a trip or every other trip.

Both are good for any meal or we have thought so. Captains Grille has good steak also:thumbsup2
