Best "kids meals" at the world?

We go to Disney quite often but usually have the dining plan, last time we were going we paid out of pocket and eventually found if we ordered 3 kids meals it was a savings and more than enough for me, my wife and our 1.5 year old girl. Unfortunately the quality of the kids meals varies greatly from place to place. We found the Pinhoccio Village Haus had a good kids meal and so did the Japan Pavillion in world showcase. Where else is there that has a nice quality kids meal for a reasonable price in Disney? By quality I mean smaller portion of what an adult gets, not hotdogs, mac and cheese and chicken nuggets. We went to the Harbor house and got like 10 fries and 4 tiny nuggets for a kids meal and I don't want that to happen again!

There's not many places with kids meals we like. What we found is that we can easily split 1 adult meal between 2 people or 2 adults meals between all of us (myself, DH, DS7, DS5). For example, at the Harbor House the adult meal is huge! Most QS adult meals are more than enough for 2 people. Then we have room left over for a favorite snack later, like a dole whip or a mickey icecream.

My vote is for the Tangierine Cafe in Morocco. I think it's the best CS place in the "world", hands down. My daughter loves their kid's chicken strips, but if you order an adult shwarma platter, it's way more than enough for 2 people to share.

I haven't been since January 2011, but I have been checking the menus at AllEars for our upcoming trip. We are always looking for something different for my kiddo, who is not a chicken nugget/mac and cheese eater.

Flame Tree BBQ has baked chicken drumsticks on the kids' menu, and empanadas, tortilla chips, and fruit are on the menu at Cantina de San Angel in Epcot. (Though my kid really didn't like the empanada at all on our last trip. Fried dough and cheese. Very dry.) Sunshine Seasons has lots of different choices on the kids' menu: pizza panini, sweet and sour chicken, chicken leg with mashed potatoes, and chicken caesar salad. The Lotus Blossom CS in China has sweet and sour chicken with rice as a kids' entree. Tortuga Tavern in the MK (when it is open) has cheese quesadillas on the menu, which could be dressed up with the fixins bar. POP Century food court has penne pasta with meatballs, beef and broccoli stir-fry, and veggie lo mein. Wolfgang Puck Express has pasta with tomato or alfredo sauce.

Great post..My wife and i try to eat kids meals not so much to save money but for the smaller portions. We have found the kids turkey sandwich at comic rays okay if you add things from the fixins bar.

My wife is pregnant and so the turkey sandwhich is out because she wont eat any cold cut meats. Seems like the kids menus are horribly limited but we prefer them because for less money we can get a drink and a side included and our 2 year old loves yogurt which is often one of the sides we can get. I know we can share and adult meal and have done so in past trips but we are much more interested in finding places with quality kids meals, preferrably in the parks. Anyone know of a good place in DHS or animal kingsom? How are the yak and yeti kids meals?

Flame Tree (listed in earlier post) is in AK. Also Restaurantosaurus has hot dogs on the kids menu. They also have a vegetable sub on the adult menu you & your wife might enjoy. Yak and Yeti has vegetable lo mein, a mini burger and egg roll as choices for the kids.

HS - Studio Catering Co. has a pb&j sandwich on kids menu. Toy Story Pizza has a cheese pizza on the kids menu or you can order a whole pizza for everyone to split. You can also get pizza at Catalina Eddies

Your best bet would be for you go to AllEars.net where they have menus for all the eateries at Disney. Good luck to you. And congrats on the coming baby!

Sanaa has a couple of great kids' meals. They do a kid-sized version of the sustainable fish entrée that's on the adult menu, and they make a pizza with the naan bread dough and other fresh ingredients.

I am interested in this thread because I have 13 and 10 year olds who are "adults" by Disney standards but might prefer the quantity of the kids' meals. For 2 days we are on the dining plan (split stay) but for the other 2 days we aren't. We might pay for our counter service kids' meals out of pocket and use the adult counter service credits for the adults in our party (even to split). Will the table services places let an adult order a kids' meal? I might feel odd about doing that for myself although I wouldn't if I were ordering for my child who is over 9 years old.

Anyone try to Kids' meal Sweet and Sour chicken at Lotus Blossom Cafe at Epcot (China)? We ordered potstickers (not a kids' option) our last visit and they were good.

My DD14 is the world's pickiest eater, she doesn't like meat of any kind except the occasional small burger or chicken nuggets (not even tenders). So although will be on the QS dining plan next month, I plan to buy a few kid meals for her so she can get buttered noodles or mac & cheese. I've always ordered kids meals for her in the past without any problem at Disney, despite her being over 9.

Yes i realize their are menus online, I was hoping for some people to give hidden gems they found. I am only talking quick serve locations and not junk food like hotdogs and peanut butter and jelly

The Panini sandwich @ Sunshine Seasons is pretty good. My 12 year old loves it.

I got the Kids Hamburger Meal with fries and a drink at Pecos Bills and it was plenty. The size of the meat patty is the same for kids or adults just the size of the bun is different.

At Cosmic Ray's, my mom and I always split the Chicken dinner or the Ribs and Chicken Dinner. If you split an adult meal, it is about the same price as paying for 2 kids meals.

At Flame Tree, we split the adult Chicken/Rib meal. Once I ordered the Kids Drumstick meal for my grandchild and she fell asleep and didnt eat and mom ate the drumstick meal and had plenty.

I agree with the other posters, that Sunshine Seasons in Epcot has good variety.

Unfortunately, Hollywood Studios leaves a little to be desired in the counter service arena, at least in my opinion... nothing out of the ordinary just burgers, chicken and pizza.

We must have just had had some bad luck as CS because we had to start buying adult meals for my kids for the past 2 trips - they are 8 and 10 now. The pizza is tiny, the nuggets are nasty and you get 4 of them, the pbj is an uncrustable and one drumstick hasn't been enough food since they were toddlers. The burger's are about the size of a Mcdonald's burger and definitely not the size of the adult patty. I think I would just split one adult meal if I were you - better food and the price would be about the same.

The best kids meal my 3 y/o GS had down there this past Feb was at Paradiso 37. He got the Double Dog platter. It had a cute mini hot dog, several corn dog bites, a huge serving of mac & cheese, and they let him substitute french fries for what the other side was and gave him a huge portion. Then he got a mini ice cream cone. I was surprised at how much food they gave him. It was by far the biggest kids meal he got all week.

He also enjoyed the kids meal at T Rex. I forgot exactly what he got, but it was pretty big and he really enjoyed it.

We tend to do the opposite and split an adult meal with DD. IMO most of the Disney CS kids meals are seriously lacking, in both quality and variety. The kids pizza used to be a good deal, since it was the same as an adult pizza. Now that they make small kids pizzas that are 50% crust I don't even buy them for DD because they don't fill her up.

The kids meal nuggets aren't good quality. I would rather purchase the chicken nugget adult meal and share with my daughter. The chicken is 100% better. I remember when they used to do chicken tenders. They were great and much larger portion. Then they said they switched to the nuggets for more even cooking. Although some of these have too much breading.
