Magical Express Booklet..is something missing?

So, I got my second set of mickey mail today, since we change resorts just days after getting the first set of Mickey mail. Well, they forgot our yellow magical express tags..ugh..already called on that, but then after I hung up I thought of something....

When I went in Oct. I had room only res. and they sent this handy little booklet (smaller in size, with a cartoon Mickey holding luggage on the front) and it told you where you to go in the airport and all once you get there.

This time though, all I got was a big booklet w/ Minnie Mouse on the front, but inside it's an itinerary page, followed by a bunch of vouchers, but nothing like the nice instructions from the other booklet.

Did they forget to send me something? Is this big booklet what I give to our Magical Express driver? Last time he had to see my little booklet in order for me to get on. Help, please!

Your Magical Express stuff comes separate from your hotel reservation information. What you describe as receiving is your hotel reservation information. That is all you get in that mail. Magical Express information comes totally separate.

When does that come, because we leave in 2 weeks! They sent the luggage tags (the cutesy ones) and the yellow ones to get the bags to our resort. So I should still get that same cartoon Mickey thing separate too??:confused3

We too had to get a second set of package documents due to a resort change. The first packet included the DME tags and vouchers right in the booklet with the resort vouchers. I believe the DME instructions were on the page or two after the DME vouchers.

When we got our second packet for the new resort there was no DME info in there at all. Luckily I had called DME separately and they sent me a new packet and it's the booklet like we used to get when it was sent separate from the resort package docs. (the one with Mickey holding luggage)

If you look around page 10 or so of the first mailing for your old resort you'll probably see the DME info was there but for some reason it's not in the updated second packet. It took about 8 days from when I called DME about the resort change for the DME packet to come. HTH

I think this changed just recently. We booked a package and the DME materials came right in the booklet with the resort vouchers, coupons and souvineer luggage tags.

Huh, then I stand corrected. It was separate as of this past October.

I hate when they change stuff and don't tell me! :rotfl2:

I went in March and my stuff came separately. The DME stuff got to me exactly 2 weeks before my trip.

I know ours was half and half. BFF has own pkg ressie. I gave TA her ME info appox 1 mo ago got her ME info in cartoon mickey booklet etc. than appox 2 days later got her pkg info.
Our pkg info came with ME yellow tags etc. I just noticed our pkg booklet has ME in lower left corner hers doesn't.
Thing that drives me bonkers is they had no flight info for 2 of 3 ppl listed on our pkg yet we all got yellow tags.

Okay...can you all please do me a favor??? Can we not use the phrase 'mickey mail' here on Transportation??? It causes confusion. I don't want to hurt anyone's feelings but it would just make things so much easier to understand.

Okay...to address the question. You get two types of mail from WDW. And to confuse matters even more, Disney has started putting two different mailings into one single mailing now. With that in mind...you could get any combination of mailing from them...
1. a pkg mailing that includes your room itinerary, entertainment vouchers, souvenier luggage tags (those hardsided ones).
2 just DME packet, with vouchers for the bus and yellow luggage tags and general info
3. a combination of the two...which seems to be happening more often lately.

OP...it sounds like you got the first situation....mailing for a pkg. If you didn't get a packet with instructions as to how to find the DME area, with bus vouchers in it, and those yellow tags, then you didn't get the DME mailing.
Are the yellow tags usable for your 'new' reservation??? Did your overall reservation number stay the same when you changed resorts??? As long as your number stayed the same, you don't need anything new sent to you.

I would double check within the packet. I find it hard to imagine that they sent you yellow luggage tags but no vouchers. IF there aren't any vouchers in there...there should be 4 on a page.....you can just go to the DME counter and get new vouchers printed up. You will need ID to do that though.
If you are unclear about how to find the DME area, just let us know..we can give you directions.

Sorry about that :guilty: - I went back and edited my reply to take that out.

No problem...it isn't just you...:thumbsup2. We seem to be getting carried away with 'fun names' and it can sometimes be confusing. But, here on Transportation, we like things to be as simple and straightforward as possible...no room for confusion that way. Thanks!!!

Just to clarify....if you have a room only reservation the only documents you should receive in the mail are the Magical Express stuff? Our room only res. confirmation was e-mailed to me so that's all we should need to check-in, correct? Should I have expected some other kind of documents regarding our hotel reservation?

Nope, you shouldn't get anything else.

I didn't get my DME stuff with my travel documents either. I only have the hard luggage tags. I was actually coming here to ask the exact same question.

I don't understand why everything can't come together!

I know that up until recently, the DME packet came from an entirely different place than the WDW package materials. The vast majority of guests didn't get both the pkg info packet (with hard plastic luggage tags, mini golf vouches, etc) and their DME info packet (with bus vouchers and yellow luggage tags) at the same time, in the same mailing.
They usually arrive at different times, in different mailings, from different sources.
DME packets seem to be arriving about 2 weeks prior to travel..used to be closer to 4 weeks.

I guess that makes sense.

I have too much stuff to keep track of, LOL!
Go out, buy a nice binder, put in some pretty picture of your resort on the cover and put everything in there. That's what I have to do on every single trip now....I keep forgetting stuff. Should probably do it at home for each day as well.....:rotfl2:

When I went in Nov/Dec it was two seperate mailings, but then for our Feb trip everything came in that one big blue envelope. I was totally surprised since I had not read anything about them now combining the DME stuff in with the pkg stuff. The yellow DME tags and the plastic luggage tags were all in one envelope with a booklet that listed our itinerary and had both the DME boarding vouchers and all the freebie vouchers just behind them.

My upcoming May trip is room only, so all I received was the old DME blue and yellow envelope with the yellow vouchers and DME info booklet. I got them last week, so about 32 days out.
