Can we bring waters/sodas purchased past security at the airport onto the plane?

We are flying out of TF Green in a couple weeks. And TF Green is set up so wonderfully that you go thru security and THEN get to all the restaurants and stores and such. I was wondering, if we bought a few waters & sodas for our hotel room (POR), can we bring them onto the plane in our carry-ons?
I was pretty sure we could since I know I walked onto the plane my last trip with a restaurant fountain soda, but I wanted to ask the experts here :)

Yes. Not a problem.

Edit: I'm assuming you are buying the drinks AFTER you get through security, correct?

My understanding it that you can not bring bottled water thru security check points but can purchase on the other side. Anyone ??:confused3

Did you check tsa.gov? You can find the answers to what is allowed through security there. The rules are not confusing.

You cannot bring any liquids over 3 ounces through security, water or not (with medical exceptions and exceptions for baby supplies).

I almost always pack an empty water bottle in my carry-on, then fill it at a drinking fountain once I'm past security. Residual droplets from the previous fill don't seem to bother the TSA. It sure beats paying $2.50 to $4.00 per bottle at the concessions. Most airlines still hand out free water on the plane, but it's never enough to keep me hydrated.

Long story short....
You can not bring anything liquid, that is larger than 3oz, through security. This means that you can't bring your bottles of water or cans of soda, from home, into the airport and through security.
You can go through security and then go off and buy any liquids you want close to the gates area. You can then put these purchases in your carryon bags and take them to your resort with you.

But...I have to say..unless there is something very specific (such as a non-Coke product) that you just have to have in your room, I would wait until getting to the resort..or even MCO. I just wouldn't bother lugging that from my home airport. The resort shop isn't going to be more expensive than the airport shop.

I ditto the suggestion of bringing your own empty reusable water bottle. I do it all the time. I am not paying $4 for a 20 oz bottle of water, not with the way I guzzle it down.

Sorry I wasn't clear... :) YES I mean purchasing them at the airport (if they are cheaper than Disney prices) AFTER security to bring in our carryons. Just a couple each.

Thanks so much for your answers! It's good to know that i can do this! :)

Yes, unless there's a weird security alert. This has happened to DH, but not in the States, so the likelihood of it happening to you is probably nonexistent, but you never know. DH was boarding a plane from Tokyo to the States, and they did yet another security check at the gate, and all waters/etc purchased after security were NOT allowed to be carried on the plane.

This was the day or so after the Nigerian guy was caught trying to light a device onboard. DH understood (though he wasn't aware of the reasons since he lives in a bubble while on work trips) but was really bummed about it since he hadn't even opened it yet.

ETA: I agree with the comments about price, though. Unless your airport is like "mine", with street pricing instead of airport-pricing, it's not going to be cheaper than just buying from the resort's store.

yes, once you pass security you can buy anything and take it on the plane. I usually get a couple of diet coke bottles because they're cheaper at the airport shops than at WDW. Yes, they really are cheaper at the airport, by about a dollar.

That's good to know! And that's definitely what I was thinking! Everywhere is cheaper than Disney! haha just a couple of each for the 2 of us to keep in the room fridge for medicine taking or whatnot... not to take to the parks.

It seems like the drinks at the MCO gift shops cost about what they do at my airport, so could you just wait and buy some at MCO when you land?

What we do is take an empty water bottle thru security, then fill up at water fountain. This way we have something to drink while waiting to board and until flight attendants give you something else.
