My DD who will be 7 uses a wheelchair for longer walks due to MD. We did really well with Disney last year but this year we are going to seaword, busch gardens, aquatica and lego land. Is it true in order to use a guest I will need to get a dr's note or is that just to get a discount? We are not looking for a discount as we paid for the trip as a package.

You do not need a note to use a wheelchair at Sea World. If you want to rent one, you need to pay for it-but you don't need a note.

To bad you already paid for the ticket since SeaWorld still gives half off to the person with a disability and their companion. Last week I went in to ask for a disability guide and they offered us their version of a GAC.

Sea World's "official" answer is their parks have something to offer everyone and as such, they do not offer a standard discount to people in wheelchairs.

Under the terms of the Americans With Disabilities Act a business is not allowed to ask for proof of a disability unless the person involved will get a higher level of service than is accorded a non-disabled person.

This is why Disney cannot ask for proof for a person to get a GAC, all that is needed is a verbal statement of the needs due to "a disability".

As giving a 50% discount could be considered a "higher level of service" asking for proof that a disability exists (not a detail of the disability) may be allowable.

I was just there last Sunday and ask when I was buying my ticket if they still offered half off for disabled and companion and he said yes we do and my ticket and both my girls in wheelchairs tickets were all half off.
