I've read about the amazing cupcakes but tell me more about quick breakfast and lunch at Starring Rolls.:thumbsup2

We had lunch there in Aug 2010, for 1 ts we got a sandwich, bag of chips or a piece of fresh fruit, cake & a drink. I had latte.
Sandwiches are pre made choice of Turkey or Beef with trimmings.

For lunch / dinner the sandwiches are turkey/ cheese and ham / cheese. If you're on the dining plan a CS meal is a sandwich, a bag of chips, a dessert and a drink.

We really like eating there.

The sandwiches are HUGE! My husband chose the black forest ham, and I chose a turkey sandwich. They're very tasty and a nice change of pace to the usual burgers, chicken, or even the wraps that so many of the other places offer. We enjoy eating here.

We think iti s the best counter service in hollywood studios. It is a nice change from burgers and fries.

Here was my experience with Starring Rolls for lunch. The sandwiches look fantastic. However, they have mayonnaise on them, and I hate mayonnaise. Apparently the sandwiches are not made onsite, because they could not provide one without mayonnaise.

Just a heads up for those who are thinking of trying to customize the sandwiches. They're now totally out for me, as mayonnaise is difficult to scrape off once it's been put on.

We had breakfast there one morning on our last trip (first time going) and loved it. My DD10 and I split a Butterfinger Cupcake , DD8 got a huge chocolate chip cookie, while DH ventured off and got himself a turkey sandwich (yes for breakfast). He was really surprised at how good the sandwich was. We are planning on having breakfast there again on our next trip...and yes DH is excited about getting his turkey sandwich again :goodvibes.

Sushi and a cupcake for my lunch two weeks ago on the dining plan....YUMMY!!!!!!

It's one of my favorite QS for lunch. I love that you can get fruit as a side, and who doesn't like cupcakes? :)

However, for QS breakfast, I'd rather go to Writers Stop.

When we were there in August 2010 I had a sandwich and my kids had sushi. The kids eat a lot of sushi and they were not that impressed with the sushi here. My sandwich was just okay as it definitely had that pre-made feel to it.

I want to like this place because the offerings at DHS are not great and the desserts are pretty special, but when we returned in August 2011 we couldn't get excited about eating here.

Ooh, bummer about the mayonnaise. I'm not a big fan of it either.

We were planning to eat here on our next trip as well, & I was so disappointed to read that the sandwiches were all premade w/ mayo! I can't stand mayonnaise either! It's the one thing I cannot - under any circumstances - eat!

In 2010, we ate at Sunshine Seasons, & I didn't realize the sandwich came w/ mayo, so I didn't ask for it w/o. Yuck! My parents were w/ us, & my Mom helpfully suggested that I just scrape it off. :scared1: No can do! There is absolutely no way to scrape all the mayonnaise off.

Anyway, Starring Rolls is now off my list unfortunately. Although I may try to sneak by at some point for a cupcake!

FYI for the folks who dislike mayo the only place that serves sandwiches without may that I can think of is Main Street Bakery.

Although off the top of my head I can't remember if Tamu Tamu has it on theirs or not.

Well....I guess I should clarify...it wasnt the best sushi I ever had in my life, however, for pre-made packaged sushi, it definitely gave me my fix for the day! I eat alot of sushi....at some of the best places in the world (Nobu in NYC is to die-for!!!!) At Starring Rolls,I had the spicy tuna rolls and they were yummy for a quick sushi fix! And the cream cheese red velvet cupcake was yummy too!

The sushi may be something to try instead. What kind do they have?

If I remember corectly, they had 4 pre-packaged choices: I had the spicy tuna rolls, there were also California rolls, a vegetable roll, and another roll that I forget right now.

I've always heard Starring Rolls had the best sandwiches so I am excited for us to give them a try. I dislike mayo as does DD but we will have no problem scraping it off.

:flower3:

I am not a big fan of mayo either. I have found that Starring Rolls does not put it on as thick as some other places. I just scrape off what I can and then put mustard on it.

I am not a big fan of the cupcakes though. Cupcakes are best kept at room temperature not in a cool fridge area. I know they do the cool storage for the frosting but I like a good cake as weel as pretty frosting.

We had lunch there last year for the first time. We were trying out the QSDP so we had made a list of all the non burger and fry options.

The sandwiches at SR were fantastic....a nice cool lunch on a hot day. :lovestruc They are very large and big enough to share. I'm sure that we will be having lunch there again this year....maybe more than once.
