Can someone tell me how much is a taxi from Downtown Disney to the next supermarket. Thanks for help.

would also like to know this - we've also been wondering how easy it is to get a taxi back from Goodings and/or the nearest outlet mall. Hope we both get some answers :)

We were at OKW in May..........taxi each way to a big local supermarket......(store prices not great but ok).....$17.00 each way....$34.00 total, plus tip.

I asked the driver to come back in a hour and he was right there waiting.

BTW...use yellow(mears) taxi,(thier number is in the room) as they are the only ones able to pick up in WDW........any taxi can dropoff.

With all due respect.........your at WDW and you would take time to go to a outlet mall?......seems a waste of time and money to me.

Most outlet stores are just jacked up prices and then discounted to make it look like a good deal anyway!

but you each there own!

yeah but we are from the UK and even a gardengrocer order seems exciting :rotfl2: Famous Amos cookies are one of the highlights of DDs holiday. As for combos/cheddar pringles/ strawberry rice Krispie bars/ peanut and pretzel M&Ms dont get me started.

we've never been to a mall in Florida because we never find the time but honestly I'd love to visit.

Thanks for your advice :)

Gosh for $34 not including tip you could get a one day rental car for the same price and have the freedom to go where ever for 24hours. The Hilton at DTD which is a 10 minute walk from the DTD bus stop, has a Avis rental car counter. There is a a Dollar rental car location at the Regal Sun which is across the street from DTD.

Plus the groceries at Goodings are extremely high. Stopped in the one time to buy a disposable razor and they wanted $4.50 for a package of two. Went to Walmart & it was $1.00. If you have a car you can go to SuperWalmart which a 15 minute ride from Goodings and you will save money.

So think about it over inflated groceries plus the cost of a cab, makes getting the rental car a much cheaper options.

I'd go for the rental car option too. Pick it up at 9:00 on morning, return it at 9:00 the next. We always get a car for the full 14 night stay because we like to eat and shop off property, but one day should see you good for food and outlet shopping.

We take a cab from DTD to the Outlet Mall on Vineyard and it costs about 10 bucks each way.

To the PP who was surprised at anyone taking a trip to the outlet mall, the prices in the US are way better than well, even your neighbours north. We too do a trip every year and do a lot of cross border shopping due to the great prices.

$10 is a bargain to be honest. Did you have to pre-book your return cab or is their a taxi rank? Also how long did you spend at th Outlet Mall.

To the OP sorry I seem to have hijacked this discussion - please forgive me.

No need to book anything before hand. We just go to DTD and when we are done there we hail a cab (there are tons hanging around there) and on our way back, there is normally a lady by a stand and she would get you one. Very easy to do and a short ride too.
