64 more days and I'll be headed to the CR!!

Is it possible to get the celebration buttons at check-in or do you have to get them at the parks?

Okay, here are my next CR questions! :rotfl:

We have a room reserved in the Tower, Bay Lake side.

I'd like a room close to the pool side/WL side, if that makes sense. I don't want to be so far over that we can't really see the pool from the balcony. I guess that would be over Chef Mickey's too, right? I think the kids would like to see Mickey when they come out of our room.

I also don't want too high up - we like to sit on the balcony & people-watch.

So what kind of room do I need to request? Odd-numbered? But how do I get a room close to that particular side?

Also, we're thinking of possibly upgrading to either the MK side or club-level. Am I correct that we could reserve club-level for either the Bay Lake side or the MK side & this would be the Atrium Club? If we did reserve club-level, what floor would our room be on?

Thanks!!

This will be our second time staying at BLT (in May). We would like to hopefully use the Contemporary pool (didn't get to last visit).

How can we access the pool. Do we have to walk to the Contemporary main tower first, and access the pool from there? Or can we go to the Contemporary pool by walking from BLT's pool (kinda like pool hopping:)).

Also, does the Contemporary pool get sun exposure in the afternoons? The BLT pool is really nice, but sometimes we'd like some more sun when we're swimming!
TIA!

Just follow the path around from BLT's pool to the Contemporary. It kind of follows the lake and will bring you to the back of the CR. It's really easy and you won't miss it. No need to go through the resort itself.

Yes, the CR's pool gets lots of sun in the afternoon (almost too much on a hot day :))

We loved being able to use both BLT and CR's pools when we stayed at BLT.

Enjoy! We LOVED BLT!!!

Anyone have any advice for room requests?

I would just request Lower floor, over Chef Mickey's. Warning, though, chef Mickey's can be loud, so I would only request that if you don't plan on sleeping late or taking late afternoon naps. Enjoy!

Thank you! We are soooo looking forward to staying at BLT again - and trying out the sunny Contemporary pool too!

Ok I am super excited as I just booked the CR TPV CL for 2 nights before heading to BLT as a surprise for our DS16. He has always wanted to stay in the tower and since he is doing extremely well in school, I booked this as a surprise. We have stayed at BLT before but not CR. I can't wait until we get there and head to the elevator instead of the front desk. :woohoo: I have to make sure I have my camera ready.

Thanks for the reply!

Ironically, the only morning we really plan on sleeping in a bit is the morning we're eating at Chef Mickey's. (We have a 9:30 am ADR.)

We are planning on some naps in the afternoon for our younger DS, but, since Chef Mickey's doesn't serve lunch, is it still loud in the afternoons?

And I am correct that being above Chef Mickey's also puts closer to the WL/EPCOT side?

Thanks!!

Yeah, CM is closed for lunch, and I think it reopened around 4. Sometimes we like to nap for an hour in the 3-6 pm timeframe before dinner, so that was bad for us.

Yes regarding that side being closer to the WL/Epcot, but we were on the MK side, so I can't speak to how well you could see either.

If you're directly over Chef Mickey's, you're on the MK view side of the building.

I was on the Bay Lake side in (11th floor) room 4706 (so 6th room from the end) and I could see WL all the time and Epcot when it was clear.

I really enjoyed my stay at the Contemporary, however, there was one thing that really bugged me. It was all the birds flying around, particularly near food! I thought it was kind of gross. Has anyone else noticed this?

If you're staying there, get a room as high up as possible (11th floor if you're non-concierge) because it offers the best view.

I don't think that is just a Disney thing. Any park, picnic area, the beach or restaurant with outside dining seems to have that problem. The birds aren't dumb, they know where the food is. And there are always a couple people willing to toss them a few bites, so the birds keep coming back.

I thought the PP was referring to the indoor birds. And yes! There are lots of them! It seems inevitable though, and I do see them at our Walmart and Sam's Club all the time.

I am not sure if this is the best place to ask, but we are planning our first visit to BLT and want to buy groceries. Does anyone know if the 1BR have coffee machines or Keurig type pod machines?? Thanks!

Not able to read through all the pages of this thread! We have a short weekend June stay in a dedicated 2 bedroom unit at Bay Lake Towers with a standard view. Does anyone have any suggested room requests I should make? We're a party of 3 (maybe 4) adults and 3 kids ages 13, 10 and 4. Also was wondering where we can easily refill our refillable mugs. Thanks!

I was referring to the indoor birds. I think they get in where the monorail comes in because they don't shut those doors. I would think that keeping those doors open also keeps the climate control inside that huge tower difficult! It's not very green, IMO. Oh well...not really a big deal...just wondering if I was the only one who noticed.

In their defense, it'd be near impossible to keep opening/ closing the doors as both the resort and express monorails come in at different intervals

Doh!
Sorry.... I assumed you were talking outside like at the pool or in the parks.
Guess I need to stay away from posting until I've had all my morning coffee! :coffee:
