DVC housekeeping and tipping

[dvc one day]

With the difference in how housekeeping works with DVC, how do you deal with tipping? This is my first time staying on DVC points (renting from a friend). Just looking for some advice.

Tipping is an emotional subject, Disney and the Union says that it's a non-tipped position but MS says that tips are appreciated.

Some will tip less because Housekeeping only comes to your room every 4 days, some tip and some don't. Bottom line is you should do what ever you think is right.

We leave cash on the table with a thank you note to the cleaning staff. We appreciate their work and believe that most on the staff are probably not in a situation where they could have their family staying in a villa for vacation. We are blessed and and find it important to acknowledge others' work.

I love it when my company acknowledges my work and I get that extra kick. Don't you?

I agree with both posts. We usually leave a few dollars on trash and towel days, more on full cleaning. We will usually tip if they bring extra towels, etc. some will take the tip, others not.

But don't forget the maintanence staff, groundskeepers, front desk, and bus drivers. I'm sure you benefit from their work as well so they should be likewise acknowledged.

I always leave a note "Thank you, Housekeeping" with the tip. If there is just money laying around (even if you think that it is obviously a tip) they will not take it.

we ussally leave a thankyou note with cash the day before we leave and they always seem appreciative and ussally leave a little surprise
