What do you do with refrigerated items when changing rooms

We're staying at Aulani next week and switching room categories halfway through. We were planning on stocking up on some groceries at Costco but are worried about what to do with refrigerated items during the 4-5 hours between when we check out of one room and into the next. Does anybody have any experience with this or suggestions?

We are going to go through this same thing when we go from BLT to Kidani in Sept-Oct. As for Aulani, I would buy one of the cheap styrofoam coolers...they sell them all over in Hawaii...costs about $5-10. Get ice at Costco...should be more tha enough for the 5hrs or so.

Haven't had the pleasure of staying at Aulani, but as far as WDW, bell services will refrigerate your items for you at the resort you are changing to. When we go shopping we always keep some of the plastic bags for this purpose.

Bell Services will store your food and luggage. They refrigerate your cold items. We bring a large tipped black marker to clearly mark which bags need to be refrigerated.

Thanks for the responses. We're new to DVC and this is our first stay so we're still learning how everything works!

Bell services has always held our refrigerated items when we either moved rooms in a resort or changed between resorts, so check with them. Happy travels! (my son just walked in as I was typing and asked that I add the dancing banana!).

The only problem is when your stuff is on the vehicle being transported. If it isn't in a cooler, it isn't refrigerated.

Good point...didn't think about the trip between resorts.

We usually have a rental vehicle so we take out groceries over to the new resort.

We switched room categories at a DVC resort. They were so nice! They let us leave our stuff in our refrigerator (but we bagged it) and when the new room was ready the front desk moved it into the refrigerator of our new room.
