When your luggage is delivered to your room (when using Magical Express)....

where do they leave it? I presume on the floor just somewhere in the room or is there somewhere else they put it (by the front door in the room)?

I know this seems like an odd question but I would hope they would never put it on the bed.

Ours was sitting about 3 steps inside the door, standing upright on the floor.

Alrighty then....I'm going to be the one to ask. Are you concerned about bugs??? If so, that's really not worth worrying about. After more than 30+ resort stays, I have yet to have any kind of 'bug issue'. Yes, it can happen, but you are just as likely to pick them up from the luggage hold on the plane, or sitting around baggage claim.
That's just nothing I'm overly concerned about when staying at WDW. Yes, it happens. But in all reality?? Not all that often.

The person delivering your luggage isn't going to take the time to put your luggage on the bed. Off the cart, on the floor of the room, near the door and on to the next room.

Can't say I understand the problem with it being on the bed, but I've never seen it left on the bed, always on the floor.

Yes. I always make sure to never put luggage on the bed to err on the side of caution.

I realize about all those other issues, but since the bed is the biggest concern, I was just wondering if I should have ME handle my luggage or take it myself to place it where I prefer. I didn't really think they would put it on the bed, but just wanted to check other's experiences.

I dont travel often, have stayed in one hotel in the last 4 years. So it's something I just wanted to be cautious about. I am very glad to hear you have never had an issue. That's reassuring.

Thank you all who replied. Sounds like it would be left inside by the door generally speaking.

Why don't you put luggage on the bed? Do you bring your own linens too? As others have said; the WDW pretty clean. They put the luggage just inside the door.

Any hotel, even the best, can have "visitors". It is not recommended to put your luggage on the bed (or certainly not under it as well) to err on the side of caution since you just never know.

I would never bring my own linens. I would never place my own linens on a hotel bed. And sleeping on the bed is not the same as keeping your luggage on the bed since bedbugs don't live on people, they live in beds (and area surrounding the bed) generally speaking. And that's how they hitch a ride home with people, by crawling into the luggage (from the bed area).

You do what works for you and I do what works for me. For me, I find no reason NOT to err on the side of caution and simply not place my luggage on the bed that thousands of people have slept on.

I can understand OP's desire not to have luggage put on the bed. The luggage has been on luggage carts, in the belly of the airplane, and lots of other places. My DW will not put her purse on our kitchen counter or kitchen table because of the different places the purse has been, whether it be in bathrooms or the floor of the car.

I hope that those that have a fear of bed bugs don't cruise. On my four Disney cruises we have always had to put larger suitcases under the bed due to the limited cabin space, and most others on the DCL forum do the same as well.

:eek:I have only cruised once (not Disney) and never again. Not for me. But OMG. Having to put luggage under the bed? I would have such an issue with that.

My child's pediatrician told me one of her families came in with bedbug bites all over after vacationing and she said to me..."You know where they placed the luggage? UNDER THE BED. Would you EVER do that?" And I replied, "OMG, no way. You NEVER know what is under the bed at a hotel". Ack. I NEVER thought people would do that, as under the bed at a strange hotel totally creeps me out.

But hey, others can do whatever works for them. For me, omg, no way.

The same here, for the same reasons. They say a woman's pocketbook has loads of germs on it due to these reasons.
