"Norway? More like No Way!" Goobers' Jan 12 TR! Up.x2 4/6: FINAL THOUGHTS!

Oh what a mean trick with the Beverly! I SO didn't do the same exact thing to Anna... Oh wait, I did. SO worth it! :lmao:

HAHA I am the meanest person ever... but yet it was totally amazing and worth it. Why are we so awesome!?

Matt for sure picked the 2 coolest shirts ever. Definite attention grabbers. :thumbsup2

Haha yes, he sure did. I was just amused at how many people stopped us to ask about them!

I split one of those margaritas with my mom, it was excellent! I thought it was mango, strawberry and original lime. :confused3 I can't remember.

Okay funny enough, I originally put lime and then change to lemon. But you're right! It was lime... I'm pretty sure, too. But I enjoyed the crap out of that margarita!

I'm glad you made sure Matt got the souvenir mug. :) The pretzel looks yummy too. The pickle tree is cute, but I despise pickles. I know, I'm probably un-American because of that.

Haha, I had to! What is funny is I have yet to use that mug since we got home. Next time I have a beer I am putting it in that mug! It's okay to not love pickles; I just think pickles look funny and the word pickle itself is hilarious. And yes, I do like pickles, but in limited quantities.

Cute bridge pictures! I really regret not spending enough time in the WS. I didn't even get to call the phones!

We had fun taking it easy while we walked through WS that night, it was pretty nice. That's a bummer about not spending enough time there. I think next trip I'd like to spend more time there, too, when I'm not feeling like death! That wasn't much fun. :sad1:

I remember you texting me about being recognized! You're a DIS celeb!

Haha it was just so random but funny and stuff.. I guess I am a DIS celebrity! :rotfl:
.

OMG YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Is your monorail ticker perhaps a hint (like mine was but nobody ever got it)??? OR is it just because monorails are the best things ever? I wouldn't blame you if that were the reason... OR... hahah and this one is highly likely... you haven't PICKED a resort yet. Um, why am I so nosey about your ticker of all things? My apologies. :rotfl: The point is, HOORAY FOR DISNEY 2013!

very happy that you get to plan another trip. But I am very happy that I get to take DD7 to WDW in October. DH and I sat down and ran number yesterday to see if a trip was possible, with DD21 away at college, we don't have as much money as we use to. It has been 2 years since I have been to Disney and I have missed it greatly, plus I get to visit my sisters(will be staying with one of them on this trip, very budget trip).

Yay for having another trip planned!!!!!! :cool1::cool1::cool1:

I KNOOOOW! It helps me deal with the fact that this TR is almost over and then I can start planning for our next trip!

YAY!!! Another trip to plan!!! YAY!!!!
:cool1::banana::dance3::woohoo::yay::cheer2:

Always very exciting!

Hahaha, so, it's actually a mix of two of the things you mentioned. A. THE MONORAIL IS THE BEST! and B. While we are 95% sure as to where we'll be staying, it's not completely set in stone! Soooo I almost went with the resort we think we're staying at, but then decided I didn't want to do that quite yet and went with two of my favorites: WALL-E and the monorail.

I loved how much you analyzed my ticker, not gonna lie. But yes, SUPER excited about it! 9 months is kind of a long time, but I'll live! Plus, there are other potentially fun things that can happen in the next 9 months, too! :thumbsup2

Wo-Hoo on a new trip to plan!! I think that makes the being home easier!

It definitely helps with the sadness. Though next year will be super sad as we won't be sure when our next trip will be, but I'm not even going to worry about that for now!

How exciting for you! I bet you DD7 will be thrilled! There are so many ways to save on a Disney trip, so it sounds like you guys will have a blast!! October seems like a wonderful time to be in Disney, too! :goodvibes

Chapter Fourty-Two: The beginning of the end
Day 11: January 28th, 2012

On our final day, we knew we wanted to take it a little easy so we allowed ourselves to sleep in... or well, I did. Upon waking up at around 8:45, I realized Matt had gone down and filled our mugs with coffee. Such a nice husband to sneak out and get us some! :) We packed up a lot of our stuff, except for necessities for the day/the next day.

After getting ready, we headed over to Epcot, enjoying the walk around Crescent Lake.. This was one of my favorite things to do on a late morning, stroll over to Epcot and enjoy the sunshine and beautiful view..

5639366b.jpg

As we walked into Epcot, we stopped to take a photo in England..

e21cdb52.jpg

Then spotted people doing the Segway Tour!

f8a7130f.jpg

Okay, side note, I could not for the life of me think of what they were called, so I turned to Matt and told him to look at the people on the Hoverounds... We both laughed really hard at my calling Segways "Hoverounds"; I'm sorry but it was the only thing I could think of to call them.

I was also laughing extra hard because when I realized what the Hoveround really was, it reminded me of those commercials where the old lady is in the Hoveround at the Grand Canyon and shouts HOVEROUND! and it echoes.. It's so ridiculous, I hope someone knows what the heck I'm talking about here, hahaha.

Anyway, we made our way to Spaceship Earth, since we had some time to kill before lunch, and can I just state how BEAUTIFUL of a day it was outside?! I mean, look at this photo..

cad753ff.jpg

Yeah, enough said. I was starting to realize how much I was going to miss this. :( Anyway, when we arrived at Spaceship Earth, it was pretty mobbed due to it being late morning and tons of people stopping to ride it as they entered the park.

We decided to skip SE, so we headed into Innoventions and promptly walked out, because there was a ton of stuff that wasn't open. Soooo we headed into World Showcase, stopping by Norway, but unfortunately Maelstrom wasn't open yet so we bailed on that (gosh we were just on a roll this morning, huh?)..

Of course, there is nothing better to get on your final day in Disney World than some treats in Germany, right?! We walked into Karamel Kuche and picked out our treats for later... Matt chose the Oatmeal Apple Caramel Cookie..

1b252473.jpg

And I went with the Caramel Chewy Bar (this was on my to-try list!)..

55213de2.jpg

We packed up our little treats and strolled over to Italy..

for a fantastic final lunch at Via Napoli!

We originally had scheduled dinner at Teppan Edo, but decided we didn't want to be stuck with a reservation on our final night, so we canceled it. Needing to find a place to have lunch, we looked around online and noticed there were openings at Via Napoli, so we went with that. It'd be perfect to end our final morning in Epcot!

Of course, we took some photos before we checked in for our reservation.

We were seated pretty quickly by a window, and I had to take photos of the decor. I LOVE the ovens in there!

Our waitress, whose name was Antoinetta, was AMAZING. Enough for me to remember her name, seriously. She was an absolute sweetheart! She brought us bread and olive oil to start, which was awesome!

d6d2317f.jpg

Not gonna lie, I kind of wanted to steal that plate, haha.

Soon after, our pizzas were placed in front of us and I was super excited! Matt got the Carciofi, which is the same pizza I'd gotten the first time..

9e371640.jpg

This time I went with the Quattro Formaggi, which had mozzarella, parmesan, fontina, provolone on an olive oil-brushed crust...

1a271b42.jpg

Holy smokes, so so good. I don't know if it's possible for Via Napoli to do any wrong in my book, seriously.

While we ate, Matt kept looking out the window that we was sitting next to and told me there were a TON of little lizards hanging out on the plant, so I made him take a photo of it, haha.

78aeaac1.jpg

You can see a few on there, just hanging out in the sun in Italy!

We'd skipped breakfast so we ended up eating all of our pizza because we were starving... We both decided to order the Tiramisu this time, and I was VERY happy with it.

44939712.jpg

Not too sweet or heavy, this is GOOD STUFF!

After finishing our desserts, we tipped Antoinetta (and I'm pretty sure we tipped her WELL because she was so awesome), and headed back out to the World Showcase.

We strolled through America, juuust as they were performing, so I think we ran around the outside to not get in the way, hahaha.

926b1e4d.jpg

We waved goodbye to some World Showcase ducks, as we knew it'd be the last time we saw them for awhile...

b7f804d3.jpg

After leaving Epcot, we held hands and talked about how we'd be back next year, but how sad it was to be doing that walk back to Beach Club one final time... We stopped to even take a photo of the little map outside of BC..

e6c663b0.jpg

Next update, we do some relaxing and visit our final park of the trip...

Ugh, the last day of the trip always stinks, doesn't it?? Your food that day looks awesome though! I now want caramel treats and pizza! :thumbsup2

So I finally finished catching up on your trip report after reading it for 3 days, when I had a few minutes. Of course I catch up just as you are on the last day, boo. I am really enjoying your report because you do Disney a lot like we do, though we have a few more rest days in there because of the small people, now.

Anyways I love those pictures of the pizza in Italy, DH and DS1 are huge pizza fans so if the pizza is still as good in 20 months (blegh I hate how long that is) they are going to really enjoy eating there.

I also love the Rescue Rangers and Duck Tales shirts, my 5 year old DS1 is a huge fan of both shows, he loves them, Rescue Rangers a bit more then Duck Tales, but they probably rate as number 1 and number 2 for his favorite tv shows. Both DH and I remember watching them back when they first came out, though I will admit DH is a much bigger fan then I am, though I don't mind them.

That picture of Spaceship Earth with all the flowers is gorgeous. I really like it a lot.

Oh and you can totally do Disney with small ones, I have done it with a 5 almost 6 month old, since he kind of messed up our anniversary trip the year before when I was 8 weeks pregnant. So we had a do over after he was born and it was a much better trip, not that the anniversary trip wasn't fun, but having energy and enjoying eating made the trip with the baby that much better then the trip the year before. I have also done it with a 7 month old and a 2 1/2 year old, and while that trip itself was not much fun it wasn't the two small ones fault, in fact they were the easiest part of that trip.

Hoveround (echoing ). I totally laughed out loud at that since I knew exactly what you were talking about.

Super sad that this is you last day. But how nice that you got to spend it at Epcot. It looked like it wasn't very crowded, too. I never feel like I get to spend enough time there.
I have always wanted to do the Segway tour at Epcot. But the kids are still too young to leave alone.

We have a ressie at Via Napoli a week from Saturday. Soooo excited about eating there.

So glad you have another trip planned. That will help with the Disney blues for sure.

Ugh last full day. How upsetting. But at least it was a beautiful day! That always makes it a little less sad.

YAY, Via Napoli, AGAIN! Hahahha. If you have to do a repeat restaurant, that's a good one to do! The ovens are hilarious and awesome.

Um... WHAT?! Can I just say that your meal is literally the EXACT meal I am going to order when I go in July??? Quattro Formaggi and tiramisu! Hahaha that's amazing! You just made me that much more excited about them, they both look delicious!

Awww Beach Club nostalgia.

Last day is so bittersweet! Happy cause you are still there but sad because everything becomes a "last time". But what a gorgeous last day it was!

Via Napoli looks so, so good. I have seen it pop up on many TRs. I know we stopped to look at the menu when it first opened and the only thing I remember was the pizza being really expensive... something like $30 for a pizza to share, so we never tried it. But thinking about it, $15 a piece is not that nuts, if it is better than 'just pizza'. And it certainly sounds like it is!

It's so so bittersweet. On one hand, you are still in Disney World, on the other hand, you have to leave soon. :( BUT! That lunch was so so good. I really could go for some right now! Though I say that every time I write about food in my TR, hahaha.

So I finally finished catching up on your trip report after reading it for 3 days, when I had a few minutes. Of course I catch up just as you are on the last day, boo. I am really enjoying your report because you do Disney a lot like we do, though we have a few more rest days in there because of the small people, now.

Oh awesome, I'm still glad you joined in and commented!! I'm thinking we'll probably be very similar when we have kids, haha. Definitely will not be running around as much I don't think. ;)

Anyways I love those pictures of the pizza in Italy, DH and DS1 are huge pizza fans so if the pizza is still as good in 20 months (blegh I hate how long that is) they are going to really enjoy eating there.

OMG it's so good. I've heard of some kids not liking it because it's wood-fire pizza so it tastes "burnt", but I bet your kids will love it. It's amazingly tasty!

I love how you can get all of the seasons at Costco for SUPER cheap, too! I'm hoping our kids like them, too! Matt likes them more than me, but like you, I don't mind them. :thumbsup2

That picture of Spaceship Earth with all the flowers is gorgeous. I really like it a lot.

Thanks! I couldn't believe I got that shot on my iPhone. It's one of my favorites.

This is very good to know! I don't think we'll go if I'm pregnant, just because that wouldn't be as much fun... though I would consider doing Disneyland since it's less expensive. But we'll see, I say this is our last trip for awhile but it might not be... Maybe we'll squeeze in another one in January 2014! Glad to know though that it is possible to go with little ones.

Hoveround (echoing ). I totally laughed out loud at that since I knew exactly what you were talking about.

HAHA YES! I am glad someone else totally gets it!

Super sad that this is you last day. But how nice that you got to spend it at Epcot. It looked like it wasn't very crowded, too. I never feel like I get to spend enough time there.
I have always wanted to do the Segway tour at Epcot. But the kids are still too young to leave alone.

Yeah, it was sad, but we knew we needed one more morning in Epcot! It wasn't too awful, though the main attractions were pretty crowded. We didn't mind since we were just taking it easy this day and trying to take in the last hours of being there. And yeah, the Segway tour looks pretty interesting! People were zipping around on those things!

We have a ressie at Via Napoli a week from Saturday. Soooo excited about eating there.

Oh that is so exciting! I love that place so much! :cloud9:

So glad you have another trip planned. That will help with the Disney blues for sure.

It helps a LOT with the Disney blues! Though we loved this trip and miss it a lot, the next trip will be a whole new adventure that we're pretty excited for!

Ugh last full day. How upsetting. But at least it was a beautiful day! That always makes it a little less sad.

It is a super big bummer. But the weather definitely helped cheer us up!

YAY, Via Napoli, AGAIN! Hahahha. If you have to do a repeat restaurant, that's a good one to do! The ovens are hilarious and awesome.

Haha we are kind of obsessed with it... that and it was one of the few actually open for reservations that early! I love those ovens.

Um... WHAT?! Can I just say that your meal is literally the EXACT meal I am going to order when I go in July??? Quattro Formaggi and tiramisu! Hahaha that's amazing! You just made me that much more excited about them, they both look delicious!

HECK TO THE YES! We have similar tastes! That seriously was an AMAZING meal though. I can't decide which pizza I liked more but that Quattro Formaggi was out of this world good!

Awww Beach Club nostalgia.

Ugh it was very hard to think about leaving. It just felt like home to us the second we got there. Different from OKW and Grand Floridian... BC is just the best.

Last day is so bittersweet! Happy cause you are still there but sad because everything becomes a "last time". But what a gorgeous last day it was!

It really is bittersweet! It was really sad saying goodbye to all of the things you'd grown to love during the trip. But yes, we had such an amazing and magical last day that I was okay with leaving in the end.

It really is amazingly delicious! I know the pizza looks expensive but the BIG ones really are huge! The personal size ones are huge, too! I mean the ones that Matt and I ate were personal size and you could probably share that between two people, with an app and maybe dessert and it would be PLENTY of food.:thumbsup2 The pizza itself is amazingly good and high quality... Worth every penny.

Boo Hoo! for last days
they are horrible....

Yeah, that you are going back!!! YIPEE!! :woohoo:

Boohoo indeed. They're sad, but we really ended up making the most of it and enjoyed every second, so it's okay! PLUS the fact that we are going back made it way less painful! :thumbsup2

First, I am a lurky loo and I have to say I am kind of sad your trip report is coming to an end. I have just over 230 days until my next trip and I am going nuts waiting waiting waiting. Your TR helped pass the time.

But I had to comment about Via Napoli. That place is my fav. must do, love love love. Seriously I cant not express how much I LOVE that restaurant.
Did you know you can buy the plate? I asked about it in Oct. the waitress wasn't sure and got the manager, and sure enough for $12 the plate was mine. It has a special spot in our kitchen!
Traci

I'm so glad it's finally official!!! :cool1::cool1::cool1:

I LOVE your new ticker as well. Wall-E and the monorail?! You get major brownie points in my book.

Bruce and Amy are going to have so much fun with you guys. Maybe you can take them to Typhoon Lagoon if it isn't closed. :rolleyes1 :lmao: :rotfl:

KIDDOS?! Wooohooo! Auntie Rachel. That sounds good.

I want to visit DLand so badly. It doesn't look promising though.

HAHA I am the meanest person ever... but yet it was totally amazing and worth it. Why are we so awesome!?

We are totally awesome, it's a curse.

Haha yes, he sure did. I was just amused at how many people stopped us to ask about them!

They need women's sizes still.

Okay funny enough, I originally put lime and then change to lemon. But you're right! It was lime... I'm pretty sure, too. But I enjoyed the crap out of that margarita!

It was definitely lime if you think so too.

Haha, I had to! What is funny is I have yet to use that mug since we got home. Next time I have a beer I am putting it in that mug! It's okay to not love pickles; I just think pickles look funny and the word pickle itself is hilarious. And yes, I do like pickles, but in limited quantities.

You have to use it so it doesn't turn into a waste of money. :rotfl: Kind of like the souvenir popcorn bucket I bought Riley on our last day after she had consumed 4-6 boxes of popcorn by herself over the course of the week.. I think she's played with it once. At least it reminds me of how much she loved Disney popcorn.

We had fun taking it easy while we walked through WS that night, it was pretty nice. That's a bummer about not spending enough time there. I think next trip I'd like to spend more time there, too, when I'm not feeling like death! That wasn't much fun.

Let's go on a trip that focuses on the awesomeness that is Epcot.

Haha it was just so random but funny and stuff.. I guess I am a DIS celebrity!
You are! :thumbsup2

Okay, side note, I could not for the life of me think of what they were called, so I turned to Matt and told him to look at the people on the Hoverounds... We both laughed really hard at my calling Segways "Hoverounds"; I'm sorry but it was the only thing I could think of to call them.

It's so ridiculous, I hope someone knows what the heck I'm talking about here, hahaha.
This made me laugh so hard! We are too much alike, seriously! I started thinking about "hoveround...hoveround...hoveround..." while reading the first paragraph! :lmao:

Of course it was a beautiful day as we were driving home. :sad1:

That caramel goodness looks delightful. :cloud9:

Via Napoli is calling my name for next time. I mean, look at the two of you being adorable outside! Then those ovens! Cute! That bread? Your cheesy pizza? Yup, I'm going.

I love that map. This is bittersweet.

So sad your trip is coming to an end!!

I don't have Via Nappolli in my plans for October! :headache: And unfortunately I don't think they will fit in anywhere!!

The days at Disney go by so fast... I'm already done typing out Day #7 on my PTR and I put on there that I imagine the time in Disney will feel even faster than what it feels as I type out the days plans!
