Airtran Seating ?

I just booked my families return flight on Airtran. I wanted to purchase seats 25A, 25B, 26A, 26B. When I looked on the website these seats were available, however, when I went to purchase them both 25B and 26B were unavailable. So I ended up purchasing seats 25C,D,E,F. I just went back into the site and it is showing both 25B and 26B available, so I tried to change our seat selections. Sure enough, when I logged in both 25B and 26B were unavailable. Why would it be showing them unavailable when I log in and available when I am viewing them from the Airtran website. Thanks!

I think the seats you got are better. You have two aisle seats and the entire side of d e & f. I know children like window seats, but having two aisle seats you can possibly trade the two aisle for the middle & window. You can keep trying, or wait until the 24 hour mark when you do online checkin. I'd be as close to the 24 hour mark as possible. Not sure why seats are showing available when they are not, but I have had the same thing happen to me with AirTran. For some reason there system isn't updating or they are holding seats.

I had the same problem when I booked for our upcoming trip. In fact the seats that I wanted are still available according to the seating map. I had thought about calling the ticket agent for Air Tran but then I read about an additional fee if they booked for you.

AirTran's planes can either be A C (aisle) D E F, or A B C (aisle) D E F. If you're in a 717, you won't have a B seat (a middle seat) on one side of the plane. AirTran does this so they don't have to worry about substituting one type of plane for another.

They may be subbing one type for another for your flight.

I would honestly keep what you have, with C D E F.

It makes total sense now. Thank you!
