Overnight Parking at EPCOT vs getting a DWI

Question.

Guest enjoys one too many beverages at EPCOT and should not legally be behind the wheel. Guest goes up to Guest Relations and tell them...

"Listnen, I cannot legally be behind the wheel but I will pay for a taxi back to my hotel. Is there anyway I can make sure security does NOT have my car towed tonight? I'll be back tomorrow and can pick it up first thing when the Park opens. I'll pay for parking again too (assuming they aren't an annual passholder). So will my car be safe?"

I'm curious as to what Disney would say to said guest.

Take a cab or resort bus in the first place.

Many people here have said that they don't tow the first night you leave your car there. Pretty sure they understand what can happen.

The very smart thing to do would be to not drive in the first place. We are all not the best judges of when we should or shouldn't be driving after a few adult beverages. By the time you feel you are not safe to drive, you probably were not safe to drive a drink or so before that.

Just don't drive to the parks if you intend to have a few drinks.

We never drive to EPCOT for the specific reason you've outlined.

Well first and foremost we are all responsible for our own behavior and if we know we are going to have to drive then we have the responsibility of not overindulging. It is also not Disney's responsibility and they won't force you to drive intoxicated. You can choose to do so or take a taxi home and if it costs you an extra night parking well that's the cost of overindulging. So, don't drive in the first place or watch how much you drink or be prepared to pay for the taxi and parking.

I highly doubt that security will touch the car other than to keep records on possible cars abandoned there, i.e. in the same place for a few nights.

It would be just as safe as in any municipal or airport or commuter rail parking lot or garage.

If you are a resort guest with a parking permit in your car, they would know how to contact you no problem. If you are off property them maybe you could leave a note in your car when you park in case you can't drive out telling where you are staying and the hotel's phone number and your name. That way security could contact you and they know the car is not abandoned.

Just watch out for the posts keeping the surrey bikes from coming down the hill into Epcot. Darn things jump right out in front of you!

That's what taxis are for, if you're planning to drink and you don't have access to Disney transportation I suggest one of those. Disney isn't going to allow a guest who's impaired to get in a car and drive away though. As to what it might cost to retrieve the car, the guest shouldered that responsibility when they became too impaired to drive.

They asked where he parked.... when get got back the next morning, car was still there. There was a note on it saying something like "guest courtsey"??? Guess it meant something to security

Not judgemental, just using common sense. FL is wicked strict about DUI, one beer can do you in. Now, if they were as strident about texting while driving, we might get somewhere near safe drivers. (sorry about going off topic)

Alas the Swolphin is sold out during my visit or else I would stay there...but I got a great rate on a DTD hotel and would rather not play bus hopping at the end of the night at EPCOT. Just wanted to know what my options were if in fact 1 drink turned out to be 10 drinks at Rose & Crown with a random group of new friends I just met.

What if 1 drink turns out to be 10 and you're too drunk to realize you shouldn't be driving?

Most of us were suggesting you take the bus TO Epcot and a cab back to your resort.
