*UPDATED 3/31* First Cruise on Disney Wonder: Mexican Riviera 2/26-3/4

DSC01060.JPG

One of my very favorite parts of our cruise was our servers. All three of them were amazing! I have to say, Disney was smart when they came up with the whole rotational dinning idea and I think its marvelous. I loved how they followed us from dinning room to dinning room, getting to know all of us and us getting to know them. Our head server was Geffrey from the Philippines, Ozer was our server and is from Turkey, and Marvin was our assistant server, who is also from the Philippines. We had no idea how fond we would become of them and were really sad when we had to leave them!

They took wonderful care of us! They made sure we liked every part of our meal and if we didn't, they fixed it for us. And they did just about everything for us. Everything from removing the lobster from the shell to cutting pancakes.

DSC_0294.JPG

Eating out is usually difficult for my mom, since she's has gluten and dairy allergies, but our servers made it easy for her to have tasty food. Every evening Geffrey would bring her the menu for the next night to order from, so they could make what she wanted and it fit with her allergies.

Geffrey, Ozer, Myself, and Marvin.

At the end of most of the meals, Ozer and Marvin would often do a magic trick for us, or give us a puzzle to try and figure out using crayons for pieces.
DSC01062.JPG

On the nights when Alina was sick and stayed in the stateroom during dinner, Ozer had us order a meal for her, which he brought out after we ate ours. One night he even folded the napkin into a boat, like ours were on the tablet that night, for her as well.

Thank you for posting all of your wonderful pictures! Geoffry was our server in February, how exciting that he is a head server now. I hope he is on board when we are there in 2 weeks.

That makes me happy that you enjoy my pictures! That's neat, so he hasn't been head server for long then. Geffrey was awesome and we all loved him! He was really great about working with my mom's allergies and every time I saw him, he called me "the planner", since on the first morning he saw me going over the Navigator and planning my schedule for the day. :goodvibes Having dinner with him, along with our other servers, was the perfect way to end each day!

DSC01196.JPG

So day 6 was also at Cabo, but we didn't go out to port though. We hung out on the ship and relaxed. Alina was still sick and spend the day in the stateroom again as well.

I was able to get some good shots of Cabo from Deck 10. Here you can see the beach my mom, dad, and Daniel went to the day before.

DSC01201.JPG

We had breakfast and lunch at Triton's. In the glass in the windows you can find a hidden Mickey. See?
DSC01198.JPG

Superfi was playing some awesome music up at the Goofy Pool. They were really good and played some good tunes.

DSC01207.JPG

Daniel, Tiana, Grandma, and I went to Cruisn' For Trivia in the afternoon. We had gone to some of the other trivia games, which were really difficult, but this one was much easier. It was also multiple choice, which helped with the tougher questions. We actually ended up winning that game (whoo-hoo!) and we all got a really awesome Disney Cruise Line baseball cap. And you can't even buy ones like them in the gift shop.

DSC_0209.JPG

Friday was also semi-formal night. We saw that Goofy was in his tux and couldn't pass up that photo opportunity!
DSC01218.JPG

Now this picture has quite a funny story behind it. The night before my dad ordered a Shirley Temple, which must have came with around 8 cherries. He didn't want most of them, so he gave them to Daniel. So the next night, we all sit down at the table at Triton's for dinner and Marvin comes over with a dish full of cherries, just for Daniel! We all got a good laugh out of that!
DSC01220.JPG

We were having a small birthday celebration for Grandma since we won't be able to see them for a who know how long. But since my birthday was a few days afterwards, they surprised me as well and made it a birthday celebration for two!
DSC_0244.JPG

They ordered a cake, which they made gluten and dairy free so my mom could have it.

Loving your pictures!

We stayed onboard the last Cabo day as well and were up at the pool with you enjoying SuperFi. We thought they were great.

Love the cake!

Excellent job on the trip report!! Great pictures. .

Will you be posting anything for the last day at sea?

One of the themed nights on the Disney Cruises is Pirates Night. Everyone's invited to dress up as piraty as they'd like. We were able to get our picture with Captain Hook and Smee and other characters in their pirate outfits, had a pirate themed dinner, and went to the pirate party up on deck. Alina ended up getting sick that day and spend the evening in the stateroom, which was sad since she was really looking forward to Pirate Night. (Note: I have video of the Pirate Party and Fireworks waaaay down at the bottom of the post.

Ah, I love Chip 'n Dale!

Arrrg! Waiting in line to see Mickey and Minnie.

All the kids went and danced around the dinning room with our servers and did the limbo.

Group picture with Marvin and Ozer! The only thing missing is Alina.

The Pirate Party on Deck 9 started a 9:30. Goofy sneaking up on Minnie...

Then the party was invaded my Captain Hook and is gang.

Afterwards there was a HUGE buffet. Right now I'm really wishing I would have got a picture of it... There were tables filled with desserts, fresh crepes, giant turkey legs, and ice cream sundaes. But we were all too full from dinner!

Here's some video I got of the Pirate Party, along with the fireworks at the end. You can view it here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aj6OiFDJB18

Does Disney still give out bandannas for pirate night?

Great pictures yet again :goodvibes

You all look to be having such a wonderful time together :)

SuperFi was awesome! I wonder if we saw each other... we never would have known... lol!

The cake was pretty awesome and it tasted great as well!

Excellent job on the trip report!! Great pictures. .

Will you be posting anything for the last day at sea?
Thanks! Yes, I will be posting the last sea day. I've been meaning too, but just haven't got to it yet. It should be up soon, though!

Does Disney still give out bandannas for pirate night?
Yes, they do!

Great pictures yet again :goodvibes

You all look to be having such a wonderful time together :)
Thank you! Yes, we had lots of fun doing different activities together! Lots of fun stuff! :goodvibes

Day seven was our last day as we sailed from Cabo to LA. Since it was a day at sea, there were lots of fun activities.
DSC_0310.JPG

Picking out our pictures from Shutters. We had lots of pictures with the characters!
DSC_0305.JPG

Later in the afternoon we went to Golf Putting. Tiana got a hole in one the first round.
DSC01249.JPG

Daniel putting.
DSC01244.JPG

My dad did pretty good...
DSC01246.JPG

...and then I was terrible both rounds! lol! :lmao:
DSC01250.JPG

A little while after Golf Putting was Animation! Ponz taught us all how to draw Daisy Duck this time. My Daisy turned out a bit cross-eyed, but other than that, I'm happy with how she turned out! I had my dad get a picture of Ponz and I with our Daisy Duck's. Ponz was really cool and had lots of fun at all the activities he did.

Alina was feeling much better and got some fresh air and ate some chicken fingers on deck, in a little corner that was sheltered by the wind. It was extremely windy that day. One guy dropped some of his cards and they were flying across the floor!
DSC01256.JPG

I was walking across the ship when I ran across Cinderella! And there was barely anybody around, which was awesome! I never seem to have any of my family members with me when I run into characters, so since the Princesses don't have Crew Members with them I had the lady behind me take our picture.
Disney%2520Wonder%25202012%2520%2528293%2529.JPG

And then in another hallway I found Snow White! We hasn't meet any of the princesses, so I was really excited to see them!
Disney%2520Wonder%25202012%2520%2528294%2529.JPG

I went back to the room afterwards and told whoever who was there that I saw Cinderella and Snow White upstairs, so Tiana wanted to go and get her pictures with them as well. By the time we got upstairs, we could only find Cinderella.
DSC01263.JPG

Our last dinner on the ship was at Animator's Palate. Group picture, minus Grandpa who took the photo:
DSC_0322.JPG

I loved all the fancy folded napkins each night!
DSC01266.JPG

My potatoes came in the shape of a pear. I thought that was really neat! And they tasted fantastic!
DSC01268.JPG

On the last night they have a flag parade, which was a little bit hard to see since our table was in the back, but was still cool! Our server, Ozer, is just to the right of the center, carrying the blue and yellow flag. Marvin is just to the right of him.
DSC_0326.JPG

This was the very sad part when we had to say good bye to Ozer, Marvin, and Geffrey... :( We loved having them as our servers for the week and they were all super awesome!
DSC_0337.JPG

They were having a Till We Meet Again celebration in the Lobby, which we missed most of since we were saying good-bye to our awesome waiters. We ran into these three, Ensin Benson, the main character in The Golden Mickey's and two of the people from the Lion King scenes.
DSC_0340.JPG

Alina LOVES The Lion King, so she ran downstairs while we were all getting our pictures with them to get her autograph book, before getting a picture with them.

All four of us kids plus Grandma.

So that's the end of the trip report, other than the video montage that I'll share soon. I'm also planning to do a sort of review of the whole trips, giving my thoughts about DCL and our likes (which would be many!) and our dislikes (which are very few!). I'm only about half way done writing that, but I'll get that up as soon as I'm finished.

Oh, and for some reason I forgot to post the pictures I got of Minnie's Fiesta Grande. If anybody is interested in seeing those, let me know and I'll be sure to post them! :goodvibes

Wow, you are such a writer and photographer! I was on Wonder right before your trip. I really enjoyed your TR and brought back good memories by reading your TR. It was also windy time to time during my sea days especially the last day, but it was nice (No Rain)weather in general. One reason I chose MR was to escape from crappy Seattle weather, and I was so glad I cruised on Wonder.
Anyway thanks for sharing your experience and writing detailed trip report for our enjoyment!:thumbsup2

Thanks! Writing doesn't come easy to me, but when I have to many memories connected with the photos, it's definitely much easier! Glad you enjoyed my TR. We has such a grand time and I'm glad to hear you had a great time as well on your MR trip! The weather on your trip sounds exactly like ours. We're from the Seattle area as well and this was our first warm weather trip during the winter months. It happned to snow here at home while we were gone, so we were glad we missed that, lol! :goodvibes

Oh my, I almost forgot about the Character Breakfast! Our character breakfast was on Saturday morning at Parrot Cay. Since it was scheduled, we got to have our dinner servers as our breakfast servers! Mickey, Minnie, Donald, and Goofy took turns coming over to our table for pictures. Alina was still sick, but she came up to the dinning room with us. The noise started bothering her head, so she went back down to the stateroom right after she ordered.

Pluto was the first one to come and visit our table.

Then Mickey!
DSC_0285.JPG

While we were waiting for our breakfast, Marvin placed this on my head, a bow made out of a napkin. Isn't it awesome?!?!
DSC_0288.JPG

Tiana also got the bow...

...And Daniel was a pirate!

I just caught up on the rest. You really got to meet a lot of characters on your cruise, which is great! And the character breakfast looks like a lot of fun - they didn't have these on DCL when I took my last cruise - I guess I will have to book another 7 day cruise on top of my currently planned 5 day cruise in order to have one :rotfl:
