I'm joining in! That surprise was great! Can't wait for more updates!

I totally love your reveal video. Your kids are so cute.

Awww thanks! I am kind of fond of them. :thumbsup2

Just a quick drop into say hello and to tell you a great start to the TR. it's going to be hard to keep up with all of you guys...hope I haven't missed anyone yet.

Can't wait to read more!!

:welcome: Thanks so much for tagging along! I hope this report will bring you HOURS and HOURS of excitement and adventure....okay, maybe just a few minutes of mindless entertainment will have to do! :rolleyes1 :lmao:

I loved the video. It brought tears to my eyes. I can't wait to follow along and see how the trip went.

Thank you so much. It was such a special moment. We still talk about it. It made DH and I feel so good to be able to do this for our children. :cloud9:

I'm joining in! That surprise was great! Can't wait for more updates!

:welcome: to the fun! Another update? Coming right Up!

DAY 1, MARCH 8TH 2012...CONTINUED

Today's adventure picks up where we left off....after we revealed the BIG SURPRISE! The kids ran in the house to gather last minute toiletry items, then we were off to the Park and Fly. We arrived in good time, and the shuttle was waiting. There were three other couples in the shuttle and our kids proceeded to tell them all about the surprise and our trip to Disney. It was a great ride to the airport, our fellow shuttle riders were very kind and gracious to the kids in all their excitement.

The airport on this particular morning was quite empty. I guess on Thursday mornings at 6am, the airport is really not "the place to be". :rotfl: This was great news for us since we were able to get our bags checked and get through security in about 15 minutes! :cool1: This left a good amount of time to get some breakfast.

Let me just digress here a little and go on a small rant. The Nashville airport's fast food restaurant of choice is Burger King. I am NOT a fan of Burger King at all. I have, however, been able to get a sausage mcmuffin sandwich at our local BK a time or two and it is not bad. I was fully prepared to have this for breakfast with a hot cup of coffee. The kids and I stood in line at BK to order breakfast while DH went across the hall to Starbucks to grab a cup of "breakfast dessert in a cup" (a vente mocha with whipped cream). I got up to the counter and let the kids place their orders. I then proceeded to tell the lovely cashier that I would like a sausage mcmuffin sandwich and a small coffee, please and thank you. :)

"We don't have mcmuffin sandwiches." :scared1:

"What?!? But I get them at the Burger King at home." :confused3

"We don't have mcmuffin sandwiches." :headache:

"Well, okay, I guess I will just have a sausage biscuit."

So, we got our food and found a table...

DSCN2275.jpg

This is the kids right before we chowed down...notice there is no Brian in the picture? He is STILL waiting in line at Starbucks for that beautiful "breakfast dessert in a cup".

Here is my breakfast...

DSCN2276.jpg

I ate just the sausage, because I don't like their biscuits. :sad2:

It was right about the time that I took my first bite that we had our first spill...yes, I did say our FIRST. This means there are more to come. We got the spill cleaned up and I took a drink of my coffee...YUCK! Good thing DH was just coming to the table with his "breakfast dessert in a cup." I found a water fountain, poured out the offending brew and filled my small cup with the good stuff from his big cup. :cloud9:

After we finished breakfast, we all headed to our gate to wait. Our flight was running on time. We got to board in short time, and we took a couple of photos in the plane.

DSCN2278.jpg

Our flight went smoothly...until Jillian spilled her ENTIRE cup of airplane Dr. Pepper on herself. Those airplane napkins are just not big enough for those kinds of spills! :sad2: Our lovely flight attendant brought some larger napkins quickly and Jillian basically had to sit on a stack to get her "nether regions" to dry before landing.

We had a short landing in Ft. Lauderdale where some passengers got off and others got on. In this transition we were able to get seats in the very front of the plane...quicker to get off at MCO! :thumbsup2 The kids wanted to switch up seating arrangements and I ended up with Gabriel this time. Keep in mind that this flight from Ft. Lauderdale to Orlando is extremely short...but they STILL served drinks again...guess where this is headed...Yep, Gabe spilled his drink on himself and the breifcase of the nice businessman next to him... :rolleyes1 Have you kept count? That is THREE spills in just about THREE hours. We are a VERY talented family! :rotfl2:

The rest was smooth sailing. We landed at MCO, got down to the Magical Express counter and were soon on our way to our happy place...on a Disney Cruise Line bus!

Stay tuned...in our next installment we will discover where the SQUIRREL portion of the TR title came from!

** Corri, Liddy and D~ are NOT allowed to divulge!!! :thumbsup2

Your reveal video is great. That should be sent to Disney. Your little boy saying thank you and your dd crying had me in tears.

Okay, since she didn't say where the SQUIRREL portion came from, I'll go ahead and spill the beans.

You see ... well ... okay, here's the deal.

No, I'm really not that mean. :lmao:

It sounds like your arrival day was similar to ours. Granted, we only had two spills, but we only have two kids. :lmao:

Honestly, since BK switched their coffee a few years ago, I haven't been able to tolerate it. I tried it once after the switch ... asked them if it was burnt or something (or spoiled ) and a manager tried it and said it was spot on. YUCK! Never again!

And I can't believe they didn't have english muffins! Lame! I'm not a fan of their biscuits either. Do they deep fry them? Because they are crispy and GREASY. YUCK!

Oopsi... What was that??? The print in that last line of your latest installment is extremely small and I can't quite make it out... Did you say that you can't remember the squirrel story and you need me to tell it for you???

OK, ok, fine, I really thought you wanted to tell the story???

Ahem - Ahem - >>> tapping on the podeum <<< - Listen up everyone... Oopsi has asked me to tell the Squirrel story...

I even have pictures...

But I am not sure if Oopsi wants me to post them in her TR??? If it was my TR - I'd say "go for it", but since it's not, I'd better wait...

D~

And then I forget to comment on the rest of your post... What is wrong with me today? Don't answer that...

Bummer about your breakfast... ours was very similar - except it was muffins and we threw them away... same story different airport. No worries - you are on your way to Disney!!!

I love all the excited looks on your kids' faces on the plane - they all look giddy!!! I still can't believe you pulled it off! I mean, seriously, I would never be able to keep my mouth shut about a trip to Disney... Kudos to you - totally!

That really sucks about all the spills... I hope it didn't continue through out the rest of your trip???

Super excited to hear about the rest of your day!!! :)

D~

:welcome: We did have SUCH a great time. We won't get to go back until fall of 2013, so I will be living my Disney dreams vicariously through this TR for a while to help pass the time... popcorn:: Thanks for joining in!

I would love to get back before then, but it is looking like we probably wont be back till Fall of 2013 either. We really want to take the kids to MNSHP once before they get too big!! And it looks like we have plenty of TR's to read, and the FB group, to help fill the void....I hope:lmao:

Awww, thanks! I am not sure the video quality is quite Disney level, it was kind of dark. We are so glad we have the video, though. It will always be a cherished memory for us.

Well, the first spill may or may not have been mine... :rolleyes1 :rotfl2:

BK was where I had my first job and I loved the food waaaaaay back then... BUT I am surprised they are even still around any more. Seems the food just gets worse and worse. :sad2:

I KNEW I shouldn't have told that story at the Dismeet! I thought we had all agreed that what happened at the Dismeet stayed at the Dismeet! Oh wait...it was then "amended" to say "until Liddy blabs it on facebook." :rotfl2:

I am proud of us for pulling it off too, but I will NEVER do it again. I just have too big a mouth and it likes to talk about Disney! :rotfl:

The kids were on :cloud9: all that day. Jillian kept saying "Is this real?" So sweet! :lovestruc

I am happy to say, there were no more spills on the trip. It seems we just go it all out of our systems right away! :thumbsup2

Count me in!!!

:welcome: Glad you are joining the fun!

Yes~ so glad to have these outlets to talk all Disney all the time. That way I don't drive Brian nuts, and he can still love Disney without me bugging the crap out of him about it all the time! :lmao:

Come on oopsi, let me tell the squirrel story. I am really good story teller, really. And I stole all the pictures that D has so it will be full of picture aids. I promise it will be exciting, heart felt, and tear jerking. On Oprah's next book club list to be sure. No. . . . Oh well, I tried. :lmao:

To be honest it took me a minute to figure out why you were telling me not to tell the story. I was literally scratching my head and wondering what you were talking about. But than it all came flooding back to me. What can I say, these kids are soaking up my memory.:lmao::lmao:

I get the egg and suasage crossant at BK frequently, but agree with you about the buiscut. They always seem so greasy and dry at the same time. I always find myself gulping down large amounts of drink just to get it down my throat.

My BK recently got the muffin breakfast sandwiches as well. I can understand how they wouldn't have the Mcmuffin sandwich though, I am sure those are only at McDonald's. :lmao: Sorry I just have to tease you a little bit.:rotfl2::thumbsup2

3 spills in 3 hours. Are yousure you didn't kidnap my kids for a while? I swear if my kids go without spilling something for a week it is a giant milestone at my house.:goodvibes

Can't wait to read about that squirrel story.:thumbsup2

Hi, I just found your report. Loved the reveal video! Your kids are really cute! Looking forward to hearing more about your trip.

oh dear! a bit of a "SLOPPY" start to your trip huh?? ;) LOL

Yeah, well with three children and a somewhat "coordinationally challenged" mommy~ SLOPPY is sometimes a way of life! :lmao: I think I just made up a word- coordinationally! :rotfl2:

Oh you could totally put twists and evil, sinister plots, romance, etc into the squirrel story... perhaps I should hire you to be the "ghostwriter" for my TR... oh yeah, we could make this BIG, baby! :cool1: :rotfl2:

Listen, my theory about our brains and kids is that every time you have a child he or she takes a little of your brain with them as they exit the birth canal. After birthing four of those little brian suckers, Corrie, you are lucky you have a brain left at all! :lmao:

Oh, I totally should have gone for the croissant at that point! I was just so discombobulated because they didn't have the MCmuffin sandwich that I just ordered whatever I could think of...:sad2:

Your family has gone a WHOLE WEEK with no spills?!? There should totally be a "no spill" event in the olympics, your family would be a shoe-in! :thumbsup2 Our family can only dream of such success... :guilty:

Hi, I just found your report. Loved the reveal video! Your kids are really cute! Looking forward to hearing more about your trip.

:welcome: to the party! The more the merrier! I hope you like to comment, because I adore the attention! :rotfl:

But I did blab it all over FaceBook. Did you not see it? :confused3

OMG!!! No wonder my brother called yelling at me about never telling him anything and my mom called crying and mumbling something about Disney being infested with rabies and all my childhood playmates unfriending me....LIDDY you have ruined my FB reputation, you big mouth!

How do you unfriend someone on the Dis?

Oh, for the record, I reposted it this morning in case anyone missed it. :thumbsup2

DAY 1, MARCH 8, 2012...cont.'d

When I last left you, we had arrived safely at the airport and boarded our beautiful Disney Cruise Line bus to head to our resort.
There is one tidbit that I had left out that I wanted to share. When we went to WDW in 2011 we stayed at ASMu. As we were standing in our ME line for Riverside this year, I noticed the cheerleaders filing into the All-Stars lines by the droves, and remarked to Brian that I was SOOOO glad to NOT be staying at an All-Stars this time. I had already started to become a resort snob before we had even made it to our first moderate! :rotfl2:

So we made our wonderful trip on the DCL bus. I want to apologize ahead of time because I failed to get pictures of our room... :sad2: After check-in we headed to the room assigned to us.
We walked...
enjoying the scenery.
We walked...
commenting on how nice it was to not have to drag our luggage to the room. We walked...
by the pool to check it out.
We walked...
commenting on how much quieter it was than ASMu.
We walked...
by a quiet pool, and talked about how the map showed that our room was located right between two quiet pools.
And we walked...
and we walked...
and we walked!
Yes, our room was in building 28...a LOOOOOONG way from everything. :headache: Oh well, we were at Disney and we WERE gonna be happy! :thumbsup2
So we got into our room, and I immediately noticed that we did NOT luck out with a refurb. So, not only did we not get the building requests I had put it, but they just didn't give us ANYTHING cool...no consolation prize for the terrible room location. Oh well, we were at Disney and we WERE going to enjoy it and have a great vacation...so there! :thumbsup2

After dropping our stuff it was time to head to get some lunch. It was 3:00 pm and we had not eaten anything substantial since our BK fiasco at 6:00 that morning. We headed to Riverside Mill to get our refillable mugs and have something to eat. I would not let anyone get big meals since we had a 6:00 ADR.

Here is what DH and I ordered to share:

DSCN2279.jpg

This beauty is the Chipotle Bacon Burger, and it was fantastic!

Charity and Gabe chose to have chicken nuggets. No picture since, well since all chicken nuggets look the same...Jillian got a GIANT chili dog. I made her cut off an end and share it with Brian, since I didn't want her to get too full to enjoy a good dinner in three hours. Brian's piece of the chili dog is in the picture with the burger.

After satisfying our hunger pangs for a short time it was time to START making our way to our dinner destination. Are we headed to a park? Where will we eat? And hey~what about the SQUIRREL story? Keep reading...

DAY 1, MARCH 8, 2012...cont.,d

It was time to start some Disney fun! We headed to the boat docks...a few pictures while we wait for the boat:

DSCN2281.jpg

Hmmm~ wish this was a LOVE boat! :lovestruc :rotfl:

DSCN2280.jpg

A picture of Magnolia Bend

DSCN2282.jpg

Still wondering "is this for real? are we really at DISNEY?"

Our ship, I mean boat arrives and we load up for a relaxing cruise down the Sassagoula River...

DSCN2283.jpg

DSCN2284.jpg

Our family goofball!

Let's just imagine some "Nawlens" music playing as we enjoy a few pictures from the boat ride, shall we?
DSCN2285.jpg

POFQ, where a few Disfriends were making their home that week.

DSCN2286.jpg

Old Key West?

And it seems Brian didn't take a picture of the COOLEST resort you see along the way...the Treehouse Villas! :sad2:

So now we are approaching our destination...

DSCN2287.jpg

Must do the Flights of Wonder some time...

DSCN2288.jpg

Will we be dining at the House of Blues?

Or will we be enjoying cuisine from here?
DSCN2289.jpg

Well, I guess you all will have to just hang on to get your answers...
