Jet Blue just opened their schedule through January 6. Flights from DCA to MCO are listed at $92 one way in both directions. When I purchased tickets for our November trip the total cost was about $163 and change. I either got an unadvertised discount or the $92 was the "all in" price.

I'm wondering if these fare are permanent or just promotional. Before they opened booking to January the same flights to MCO from BWI (vs DCA) on Southwest were $100 more per round trip. The extra drive time, to us, is worth the savings. Parking is a wash.

Southwest here in the Baltimore area seems to have become a very high (est?) cost airline.

No fares are permanent. They change all the time. Airfares are universally high right now for every airline.

That is a good price from DCA. I'd take it.

Mostly Promotional.

I booked my October trip (DCA-MCO RT) the day they opened the schedule up and got the $92 each way. My same flights are now two-to-three times more expensive.

The $92 is still there for a few flights mid-week.

Out flights are leaving Sunday and back Saturday. They have had those ratres for those same days of the week for about a month now. I started checking once we made hotel reservations and although neithe SW of JB were booking for our dates the various October Sunday/Saturday flights were always $92 or so.

But I agree they must be promotional as I don't think they have been flying from DCA very long.

FYI, since January 26, airlines have been required to advertise "all in" prices. The U.S. Transportation Department previously allowed certain taxes/fees to be listed separately, but no longer.

Those taxes and fees can add an enormous cost to the ticket too! For example, my RT ticket for May from IAD to LHR was only $223.00 for the actual airfare. With taxes and fees, the total cost was $876.30!

I'm disappointed that we can no longer fly IAD to MCO direct. It is so much easier navigating the Virginia countryside than it is downtown DC. Sigh. DCA it is, I guess.
