2012 Hilton Head Thread-Tips, Tricks, Roll Call..

Hi all, just finalized our Hilton Head trip for this summer and realized we didn't have a thread.
We just called today and went with a cash reservation for a 1 bedroom for Sun-Tuesday. Added that to out DVC points 1 bedroom Tues-Fri and DVC points studio Friday night. It will be me, my husband, our 12 year old daughter and 10 year old son. My brother and SIL(no kids) paid cash for the whole week, we're all hoping for some waitlist magic, but at least we're going!

I can keep the roll call. We can share tips, ask questions, count down, anything! Join in if you're off to HHI in 2012.

A huge thank you for doing this!! I know that Simba's mom has done it in the past but has been unable to this year. I had no idea where to start with one so thank you!! We will be going down from 6/1 to 6/8 in a 1 BR. We absolutely can't wait to get back there. We had a small teaser in november for a weekend and we loved it there.

This year on our to do list is:
dolphin tour
bike rides
camp fire
beach and pools of course
relaxing!!

Don't have a whole lot planned so can't wait to hear of some other's plans!

June 29 to July 5th!

DH & I have only had a weekend there in the past, swimming & bike riding were our main activities. Our newest DGS, who is due any day now, will be introduced to his Woz cousins on this trip. This will be one more special family time using out DVC!

Bobbiwoz-congrats on your new grandson-how exciting!
We took my son to HHI for his first vacation, too, he was 6 months old. It was our first trip to Disney's HHI Resort-we've been back every year except for once, and he's 10 now.
We love it!

Tinks-in all our trips we've never managed to do the dolphin tours! I can't believe it. Are you planning on the kayak tour or the bigger boat?

I've never been in July, hoping it won't be *too* hot for bikes. Guess I could get up early and bike then.

We will be making our DVC stay at HHI 6/3-6/9. we have stayed on the island before at private rental condo but 1st time with DVC- can not wait~ this vacation is very over due!

Put us down for 9/10 - 9/21....it's our fourth year in a row.

We will return for our annual June trip. June 8 thru the 15. Driving for the first time....have to see how that goes This is probably our 10th trip or so.....can't really remember.... I should keep better track of our trips.

may try a kayak tour but was planning on a larger boat tour for the dolphins. We really do want to explore the island more but also relax as well. June can't get here fast enough for us!!

We are there for the exact same dates. There will be DH 54, myself - turning 53 on the 7th, DS 15 and his friend, also 15.

We wil be there 5/26-6/1. First trip. Me, DH, and 2 sons, 7 yr old and 8 months old. Got 1 bedroom on points! Would you bring your own bikes down? How secure is the resort? Cameras? Patrols? Places to lock up bikes? Crime on HHI? Thanks!

DVC SSR owner, If you have really good bikes, i don't advise bringing your own bikes. I have discussed this with my DH as we have bike racks and everything we need to take our bikes. My family (DH and boys) race BMX and mountain bikes so we don't take the chance on ruining anything on them from the sand and salt from the beach. We rented bikes last time and they were good bikes as well but made for the environment down there.
