question about transportation to legoland

We are going for the day to Legoland during our trip in October. Legoland has a shuttle bus from the Orlando Premium Outlets for $10/pp plus tax. If I did this I would need to get to the outlets. There are 6 of us. Does anyone know how much a taxi from BLT to the outlets? Other option is to rent a car for the day, probably onsite. What are your thoughts to which will be the easiest with least amount of hassles? One of the things we love about our disney vacations is not dealing with navigating around. Has anyone taken the bus? All input is welcome.

I have the same dilema. september trip and going to legoland on day 4. I looked into a 24 hour rental on site, it was $43. I'm thinking of picking it up just before the car center closes the night before so we can get an early start and we'd need to return it by 8pm. It'll be close with legoland all day ,chef mickey at 6pm then return the car! we may end up paying for another 1/2 day n bring it back in the morning.

You would end up paying another full day for any rental over 2 hours late.

Renting a car would be easier and give you more flexibility BUT OP has 6 people. That means they'll need to rent a mini-van or full size SUV. Probably still makes sense.

Have any of you rented from the car care center before? Is it easy to get there and back? Is there still a shuttle to get you back to your hotel if you return it after hours? They are only open til 6pm on weekends, so we definitely would not make it there before they closed. The single day rates are high for mini vans, so I don't want to exceed 1 day, so I will have to pick it up that am.

If it were me, I would just rent the car from Alamo/National and pick it up at the Care Care Center. Then, drop everyone off at Chef Mickey's and drive back to the CCC and get a ride back to the CR for dinner.
Or,just rent it for two days.

There are a ton of people who figure that well, we're in Orlando anyway, lets go to US/IoA or to SW, or to LegoLand. But then, after they make the plans, realize that they now have to figure out how the heck to get there!!

You can also get a LYNX bus from the ticket and transportation center and when you get on ask for a transfer for the ITrolley and that will take you to the Premium outlets you can call LYNX and confirm the route number it will drop you off on international drive near seaworld to pick up the I Trolley with 6 ppl this may be alot cheaper I dont know what the going rate for LYNX is now but it was never very expensive though I haven't used it in a few years. I seen where you can even purchase R/t tickets on their website for like $2.75 or something like that. hope this helps a little just a thought :)

Alamo does not have after hours shuttles and I do not believe they have after hours drop offs at the CCC. They do, however, have after hours drops at the Dolphin, but, no shuttle.

We almost never recommend using the Lynx system if it requires making transfers. It is the public transit system after all and if you get misdirected, you can easily end of somewhere you really don't want to be.
I always recommend using it to get to SW, but that's because the bus you board at the TTC drops you right at the parking lot for SW.

Not to mention the amount of time that is involved in doing this. You really are better off either renting a car or using a cab. All depends on how much you want to spend.

Not sure what time the Lego shuttle operates but my advise would be to begin your day at Legoland at opening time. They have really short hours and the lines are not fast moving (mainly because the rides can only accomodate a few people at a time and dont have that Disney fast feeder/preshow thing going on) The ticket price isnt cheap for the time you are able to spend there. We went on a quiet day, got there at opening time, rushed around all day and skipped the shows and did the mini city last as you can look around after the rides have closed. With short lines we were able to do the just about everything we wanted
