What Disney Tip Are you really glad you listened to?

Hi LisaTC,
What are these? Are these charcoal characature / drawings? If yes, how did you keep them from being wrinkled, bent, etc. throughout the rest of your day in the park and transport them home?

Thanks very much,
Dan

Where exactly are these found in MK?

my quick question is.. I am going in the middle of May this year (yippeee!!) will I need ADRs for Sci-Fi Dine In Theatre and Whispering Canyon Cafe?

In our experience you need ADR's for all Table Service locations, unless you get really lucky, and even then there might be an opening for an odd time. We had great experiences at each of these locations. Happy Planning! pixiedust:

Not sure if this has been posted but....

If I had to pick one of the things I was happy to have listened to it would be watching "Wishes" on the beach at the Polynesian.

We finished supper at 'Ohana at around 7:30(ish) and just walked down around the back of the building and found the beach very easily. It was great, there were very few people on the beach and the piped the "Wishes" music onto the beach. We then took the small ferry back across to the MK. That was a view everyone should see. Great tip!

Yes, we did the same thing a few years ago and it was beautiful...watching the fireworks from the beach (after dinner) and listening to the piped in music !:woohoo:

While we haven't watched Wishes from the Poly beach before, I just love walking around this resort in the evening, with the torches lit and the island music playing. It's a great place to spend some time in the evening. I'm not sure what time it takes place, but they also have the electrical water parade along the resorts located on the water.

Well the best tip I got is to rent strollers not from Disney but outside disney. Why? Well, because it's no limited to Disney only but we can carry it when shopping, and when strolling outside disney. It kept our tot safe and comfortable not to mention our own comfort too =)

Du you have information for the place to rent strollers from for entire stay. We will be driving, but with a toyota corolla and 4 people not enough trunk space for luggage and a double stroller?

I have rented from Orlando Strollers and was very happy. On my upcoming trip I am renting from Kingdom Strollers simply because they will also deliver a case of water.

This thread has been so helpful! I found so many great tips to use on our first trip in December! I now have a large Word document filled with tips and a shopping list  Thank you all so much for sharing these great tips! :worship:

A lot of people mentioned bringing individual mix ins for the water. My husband is a Gatorade fan and I don't believe they have individual packages (could be wrong, but haven't seen them). So I'm planning on using a formula divider and dispenser for him. Hopefully it will work well.

We will be bringing our own stroller for our kids. My DD will be 5, but I know she will never make it through the trip walk the whole time. :faint: We are planning on getting a Sit 'n Stand stroller. Has anyone used these?

This was a great tip that we used in 2007. However it has become a family joke because on day 1 we spent the morning at the hotel and then went to MK in the afternoon. Since we weren't going to be there a full day I decided not to bring my backpack filled with all the things we might need. As our luck would have it... it POURED and without dollar store rain ponchos we had to purchase 4 Disney ponchos ..... which aren't cheap!
Lesson: always bring your backpack!!!:rotfl2:

Oh my god this sounds exactly like our most recent trip in Feb. I was so annoyed with myself that the ponchos were sitting back in the hotel and I spent $43+ on 4 ponchos.

I think the absolute best advice was to bring an over the door shoe organizer. I hung it on the closet rack and put everything in it and wow what a great thing. I plan to put it in my suitcase for all my trips now. Doesn't take up much room but holds all those little items.

Also I brought a small flash light which was awesome since the clock did not light up and I could use it to go to the bathroom without waking everyone up.

:yay:

Two trips ago to the Commissary I bought G2 flavor packets, sitting on my desk right now.

We're taking a double jogging stroller for DD5 and 6 1/2. Just tested it this weekend, and it works well.

I've also seen the individual Gatorade packs in the fitness section at Walmart. Bought a bunch for my husband when he was in Afghanistan.

We've also had a sit n stand stroller and we brought it for our second Disney trip in '09. My daughter was 5 and my son was one. I was so glad I had it! My daughter was at that age when she wanted to be a big girl and walk everywhere, but she always had the sit available when she needed to rest.

We've used Magic Stroller. $15 for the first day and $8 per additional days. Always been happy with them.

Great to know! The individual packs will be even better! Thanks!!

So excited for the stroller. Wish I had it now!

Go to Crystal Palace at the Magic Kingdom as early as possible on your MK day. The pictures you get inside the park with no crowds that early in the morning are worth it!

Also, head to the back of the park and don't start doing the things in the front. Always good tips :wizard:

WOW. Extremely thankful that I stumbled upon this site while doing some research, particularly this thread!

I'm not sure what to do as far as a stroller is concerned. We're staying onsite, but flying in from North Carolina, so bringing a stroller with us is not really an option. Are there small umbrella strollers for sale anywhere in WDW, or only rentals? It's just me, my husband, and our 5 year old.. I'm afraid he's going to get tired, and he's too big to be carried (by me, at least). I wonder if I could somehow cram an umbrella stroller into our suitcase.. lol.

I was there last month with my 5 yr old son & if I had not had a stroller, it would have been terrible! Their little legs just can't keep up that pace and since most fireworks/night shows are over past his normal bedtime, he was tired! I also liked the fact that when it was busy during parade times/exiting the park at night, he was sitting safe, right in front of me.

We fly down from Indianapolis and have never had a problem gate-checking a stroller. Check your bags, take it with you thru security, be sure to get a tag from your airlines counter when you're waiting to board. The person that takes your boarding passes will tell you where to leave the stroller. Then it's waiting for you after you land as you exit the plane.

I also found several umbrella type strollers on Walmart's site for around $40. The one I bought was by First Years and holds up to 50 lbs. It folded up easy to get on the bus back to our resort, and helped to have it again at the resort for walking back to our room from the bus stop at the end of the night. Also cheaper than renting if you're there more than 3 days.

Who are you flying? We usually fly SW out of Raleigh, and I have seen tons of people use a stroller all the way down to the door of the plane and then they put a tag on it and store it in baggage. Is this not an option on your airline?
