Converting CS to Snacks

Hi,
We leave this next week and I am thinking that we will have 3-4 counter services remaining due to a couple of OOP choices (Fultons). Can anyone tell me the procedure for exchanging cs for snacks.

Just go to the QS area at your resort, and ask how many snacks you can get per CS credit.

You would have the best odds if you do it this way. I am pretty sure the CS in the parks won't do this.

Hi.. I know this is an old thread but it was all that came up on the search.

Are they still allowing conversion of CS credits to Snack Credits? Is it possible to have the conversion done to be able to use the Snack Credits in the parks. For example we are planning an October 2012 trip and I would like more snack credits to use at the F&W booths... I am sure we will use very few of the CS credits as we have tons of TS meals planned (paying OOP or with TIW for those.)

I don't believe they will convert your CS credits to actual snack credits, and you can't trade a CS credit for snacks at the food and wine kiosks.

It does seem like from what I'm reading it has changed since last year. In Oct. we were able to get any 3 snack items using a QS at Pop food court. I asked a cashier on our first visit to the food court what snacks we could get with a QS credit. She said we could get "any" 3 snacks for 1 QS. We mostly did this for breakfast getting 3 pastry items. We did get 3 sundaes one afternoon for one QS. I did ask a manager type prior to ordering them. The cashier had trouble entering it and he had to tell her to press the Continental Combo button first and it would work-it did! :cloud9:

Now from what I'm reading you can't do this any more. :confused3 Personally, I think it makes sense for Disney to allow you to use a QS for 3 snacks. 3 snack items ( like our 3 morning pastries) are going to cost less than a lunch or dinner meal. This year I think we will have to limit ourselves to breakfast in the room from our own cereal, bagels, toast, etc. It's just never a good value to use QS for breakfast.

This will probably be more of an issue for us this year since we now only get 1 SC per person and 2 QS on the QSDP. I see us having more QS to use up at the end of our trip than SC (esp. since we are going during F&WF). I can see us ordering a QS meal and then discarding the entree just to get the drink and snack. Oh well.

Oh, last year while at EPCOT while DD was doing the KP thing, we felt it was time for a snack. We got a tartine, napoleon, and large diet coke from the Boulangerie for a QS but it was more like 3 snacks. DD ate the tartine, my DM and I shared the napoleon, and we all shared the DC. We will definitely have to do this again this year.

(I'm hoping that since we are going during free DDP in late Sept they will have changed this policy or relaxed it a little.)

Nope...can't convert 1 CS for 3 snacks anymore....at least that was my experience last week. The cashier @ POP advised me they changed the rules on Jan 1st.

The CM did allow me to ring through a drink and a dessert as a CS meal though - I didn't want an entree - so at least we were able to use the CS credit for something

at POFQ last weekend (3/3-3/5) the cashiers told me you can only use counter service to get counter service meals...when I specifically mentioned being able to get 2-3 snacks with a counter service before, both times I asked they said not this year, and showed me the only exception is at breakfast you can make yourself a "continental breakfast" by getting one pastry and one piece of fruit, along with the beverage that comes with the counter service meal. So, in that case, you're getting 3 items for breakfast that could also be bought with 3 snack credits...but she said it has to be those specific items (she had a paper with the details of what was allowed for the put-together-your-own-breakfast) and she said there was no substitutions allowed besides what was listed on the paper she had...like you couldn't substitute a bag of chips or prepackaged bag of cookies for the pastry. I know once we had some leftover counterservice when we were leaving for park & then home...and we'd been allowed to take 3 bottled drinks (2 sports drinks & a bottled water) for a counter service...I asked about that, and the cashier said no. It was ONLY breakfast, and ONLY continental breakfast items that were also snack credits that could be substituted on a counter service credit.

Two different cashiers (one in the morning, one late at night) told me the only-continental-breakfast is now the rule, so I guess it's official.

I hope they didn't change being able to use a table service credit for a quick service...

See posts 8 and 9 (they are not old posts). The conversion is no longer allowed at hotel food courts, and it was never allowed in the parks. Sorry.

I suggest using your snack credits for items that are on the higher side throughout your trip. So definitely pay OOP for things like soda or snacks less than $3. Save your credits for F&W and $4 items.

I totally agree. Many items at the F&WF are less than $4. Some desserts, last year, were only $1.25. Not a good use of a SC. This year, now that QSDP only gets 1 SC per day (instead of 2) we are going to make sure our SC are used only for the higher priced items. We'll pay OOP for the cheaper items, if we have any.

So sorry to hear about the no on the conversion of CS to 3 SC. We used this several times at POP last Oct., even for 3 sundaes. Oh well. :confused3

I just returned on Tuesday from the Grand Floridian and they let me exchange CS credits for 3 snacks. I thought that they wouldnt allow it so i never asked but my daughter did not want breakfast on our last day but she wanted a drink. I asked the cashier if she would just charge me a cs credit since it was our last day and I had some cs credits remaining. She told me to go grab 3 snacks for each cs credit i had remaining and she would take care of it. Maybe I just got lucky.
