Congrats!!!!!:lovestruc

:)We have mentioned several times BWI should totally give him a commission/CM discount for his reviews which have inspired many of us to book there (now if I could actually hold my reservation there ;))

I think what you have booked now .... Poly and GF is perfect for you. It's really what you wanted all along.

Maybe an Epcot resort in Jan??? :confused3

Booked a Studio (2 studios actually my Sil & Bil are coming with us) for our fifth anniversary this August:banana: Dh and I were married at Disney and our reception was at the BWI. We stayed at the BWI during our wedding before heading to our honeymoon so this is a special vacation. Plus it is my Sil & Bil 10th anniversary as well!

Very excited.:woohoo:

I AM SO EXCITED!!!!:banana::banana: I've been glued to DVC member services website most of the morning (west coast time) and someone just canceled BWV studio for my dates .... DURING F&W!!! :scared1: You better believe I bounced on that quick!! It's garden/pool view .... I wanted Boardwalk view .... but I'm HAPPY!!! I'll take it. Now I just need VWL for our last 3 nights!!! pixiedust::dance3:pixiedust:

party:party:party:

So happy you were able to book a studio, with a little luck maybe a BW view will open up but if not you are still staying at the BoardWalk

We were there last year the week after they reopened the feature pool. Wow, that water was cold.

I understand that the 2BR is a studio and 1BR Villa and from the photos it appears that there are three balconies...do any of the balcony dividers slide away to make it a larger balcony?

The 1BR part should be one long balcony between the two entrances, that's what we had. The studio balcony will be separate, and generally not a divider, like physically separate with some distance between. You can actually see/talk/etc., from balcony to balcony, they aren't "private" like cruise balconies.

Our impression is that with the Guaranteed Boardwalk View we will have a view of Crescent Lake is that correct?

Are the 2BR's on the higher floors or scattered throughout?
As CR said, absolutely yes to the first question, and to the second, they are scattered, so you might want to request a higher floor if that's your desire, though we requested that and got 2nd floor, so the requests obviously aren't always honored.

Enjoy, you'll love it!

View across the balconies on the Villas side (Rm 2001, 1BR villa, from the living room side, those two chairs are in front of the bedroom doors to the balcony. The balcony had four chairs in total.)

In May there will be 10 adults staying at the BWV for the first time. We are so excited. We will be looking for a place to gather after we leave the parks for the day. How late is Leaping Libations open? How late is ESPN and Jelly rolls open? Any other suggestions?

In my experience, Leaping Libations closes pretty early. ESPN and Jelly Rolls I believe, are open until 2. At least 1am.

Leaping Libations is open from 11 - 6:30pm.

ESPN is open 11:30 - 1am.

The doors open to Jellyrolls at 7 and the piano playing starts at 8. They're open until 1:45am.

Kimonos is a sushi bar at the Swan that's open very late. It may even close around the same time as ESPN and Jellyrolls.

:yay:Well, my contemplating changing turned into changing:rolleyes1

I was able to book the cottage with our 40% discount so it was only $141 more per night (with tax) than the STD CL room. So now we'll have two bathrooms and about twice as much space, which will be nice before our WL stay. It's also a good test run to see if we like it enough to book it in the summer. I requested a balcony. Only 3 of the 14 suites have a balcony off the upstairs bedroom, so I don't expect to get one, but it would be just perfect if we did.

I've read that there is a "secret" staircase right near the cottages that leads directly to the CL lounge. Did you ever use it? Do you know how far that staircase might be from the cottages?

:cool1: YAY i eagerly await your very much valued opinion on these "Little Gems" :) When is it you are staying in one? :cool1:

This thread is amazing & there is nothing like hearing from people who plenty of Disney experience! :thumbsup2 This is my first time staying at the BW Villas, so a few quick questions!

1-About how long does it take to get to Epcot (via International Gateway) & Hollywood Studios using the boat?

2-Can you see Illuminations from anywhere around the BWV?

3-I'm staying in a DVC studio room with a garden/pool view. Is there any requests regarding room #'s or floors or anything that I should try for!

Thanks!! :cheer2:

:welcome: to the BWI/BWV thread and the DIS, sportybears! I'm so glad you like the thread and find it useful:goodvibes

I think that answers to your specific questions would be best left to those who've taken the boat to DHS, watched Illuminations from BWV and stayed in a Studiopopcorn::

It depends on where you are staying, but you will be able to walk to Epcot (5 min) before boat gets there. But, the boat does a cool turnaround move. I think it is a 15 min boat to DHS, but depends on line to get on boat.

The best view of fireworks is at either bridge. We had a SV at BWV and could not see fireworks there. Plus, the way BWV curves, I found it easier to walk onto the boardwalk to view them.

Still excited about my BWV stay in Oct!!! :goodvibes I've looked thru this entire thread but can't seem to find a picture of the interior of one of the villa studios .... does anyone have a picture that they could post? :confused3 Thanks!!!

I can answer #1 this way. We have walked from the international gateway as the boat left the dock. Since it stops at Y&B Club first, it usually gets tot he Boardwalk dock at about the same time as we do, so I say roughly 10 minutes. DHS is a little longer, since it first stops at the Swan/Dolphin before continuing to DHS, which is a little farther away than EPCOT, so I'd estimate 15 minutes?

We had a really nice view of the pool this past trip, on the hallway off of the main hallway on the fifth floor. Room 5024. You can ask for any even number from 5018 to 5026 or 5029 - 5066. The rooms from 5001 to 5017 do not overlook the pool. (The number sequence is the same on floors 3 and 4).

Here is a link to many Studio interior photos, however, I think they are pre-rehab:
