I have heard that the Fort is getting WI-FI in the cabins and if anyone is there now would you let us know. We will be there on the 23d and would bring the I-Pad if they do.

Hi, looking to book a cabin next year- summer time. I have a couple questions :-)
Do you know if it is possible to get a crib? Not a playpen- an actual crib? I have seen this available at some resorts so I was wondering if it was available in a Ft Wilderness cabin.
Does anyone know if there is WIFI?
Are they airconditioned? I am assuming yes but thought I would check.
Is there a fridge in every cabin?

THANKS!

The cabins have a porta crib. I have heard that there is a place off site that rents cribs and other baby equipment, but I don't know what it is. The family forum might be able help on this.
The cabins all have a full size fridge with ice maker,a stove with oven, a dishwasher and a microwave.
Yes they have air conditioning.
I am trying to find out about about wi-fi too. I know you can pick it up at the Meadows, the Outpost where you sign in and at Pioneer Hall but have heard it is coming to the cabins. I hope they have it when we get there.

Hi, we arrive in the evening and are taking Magical Express from MCO. Since we'll only be there 1 night before moving to BWV, I do not want to rent a golf cart. Is there a shuttle from the Reception Outpost to take us to our cabin?

ETA- Is it pretty easy to have our luggage moved from Ft. Wilderness to BWV?

Yes they have a shuttle that will take you and your family plus luggage to your cabin. I am not sure how easy it is to have luggage moved since we have never done this. Have a great time, we loved the cabins! :cloud9:

I'm sure it's in the thread somewhere but do the bathrooms have double sinks. I looked at the pics earlier in the thread and couldn't really tell unless I missed something.

No, one sink and a large counter.

Someone mentioned this to me recently - there's a sink in the kitchen! DUH! You can use that to brush teeth, etc, in the morning too. For some reason, that never crossed my mind!

Does anyone know what bike rental cost. With 4 kids the golf cart price is out of reach.

This may or may not work for you, but we actually bought a bike at Target on the way from the airport to FW. It was inexpensive (about $50) and used it the entire week. It ended up costing us less than if we rented a bike. At the end of our stay we simply gave it to another family at FW, since we couldn't take it home on a plane.

That is an awesome idea! I wonder if your bike is still being passed around at FW?

Hi All

Just a couple of questions we have about the FW cabins: wondering about a few things and was wondering if anyone would give some info.

If you don't rent a golf cart, are there ANY cabins that are not a huge hike to the boat launch, parks bus stops etc.

How easy is it to get to monrail to Epcot? Is this even possible?

Silly question but is there alot of free stuff for kids to do?

How is the pool? Good slide?

Any info is appreciated!!

Thanks:goodvibes

There is an internal bus system, which has stops through out the entire campground, so if you don't care to, you don't have to hike at all.

You can take a boat to MK, then the monorail to the TTC, then swap to the Epcot monorail, or you can take the bus from the campground to the park.

There are two pools. The main pool has a twisty slide and a young child play area with twp small slides.

Free stuff, there is a nightly camp fire, nightly movies, and more.

Our 1st time at the Cabins is getting closer! We're staying 2 nights post-cruise in June. Super psyched!
Question: We're a family of 5. Do most people put the kids in the bedroom and sleep on the Murphy bed? How uncomfortable is it? ;)

That's a good question. We are a family of 5 as well. Call me bad, lol, but I think we will take which ever bed is more comfortable and make the kids draw straws, lol :rotfl: There little bodies are much more resilient than mine.

You'll enjoy the campgrounds!!! Our family had a blast...only there a few days, but awesome:thumbsup2 My only complaint was the bed....not that it would keep me from staying there. We're use to a queen, and the cabins have doubles. DH and I slept in the bedroom....we vowed next time that we would split up:laughing: one of us on the murphy bed and the other in the bedroom. My parents said the murphy bed was comfortable. They had no problems at all. Of course the 3 kids had to take turns on the bunkbeds.

It's a great place to spend a few days!! Hope y'all have a wonderful time:thumbsup2
