Delta prices?

I have never flown Delta, but it looks to be our only "good" choice for next Nov for our family. We have a large group going down, so we would , of course, like to get the best possible price. I see the dates are open for booking now, but they are higher than what I want to pay at this time. Does Delta ever lower prices? I haven't watched their prices at all in the past. I usually would quote it, but we tend to fly Allegiant and make our trip around their dates. Allegiant, doesn't seem to be flying at all out of our airport at that time of year. (It hasn't at least for the last few years) and since we are cruising, as well as spending a few days at WDW after, out dates are very set. We have to be down the day before and most everyone has to be home on a certain day.
I would just like any advice you have about Delta and when is a good time to check for flights or discounts?

We fly Delta every time. I can tell you when I first went on the airfare watch. it was 197.00 recently the same flight is 285.00 We bought at 205.00. I never have any trouble, flying out of Detroit. As posted in other post, you can check strollers and car seats for free, which is nice

The day the schedule opened so 11months or so in advance. We bought our tickets in Nov. for our May trip. Hope this helps.

I fly Delta alot. I've found that prices do come down if the plane is not full.

Not sure if price changes vary depending on the route, but my daughter flies Delta twice a year back and forth from college. We have always found the best prices about 8 weeks out.
