November 17, 2012 TURKEY Cruise

Tina, Is your movie going to be aired again? I taped the movie but then my husband mistakenly deleted it before I could watch it. Auuughhh!

Guess what? I saw that Dom13 had done an awesome itinerary design for your Hawaii cruise. So I asked him to do one just like it for the Eastern Med cruise my family is going on next July. It turned out great! :)

We are on deck 7 also. Tina, did you see yourself in the movie? I watched it and wondered which one was you. I found myself looking past the principals and watching the background.

Dom13 does GREAT work ! :goodvibes I believe the movie will be on tomorrow on the Hallmark channel from 2-4 pm.

We were seen in movie and you really didn't have to search for us. In the opening scene when they would talk about each kids and then freeze the screen ? The girl with red hair and red shirt......my DH face is fully shown and frozen while talking about the girl Stephanie. I am sitting right next to Stephanie and can be seen. Especially when kids leave a couple of seconds of us watching the show. Exactly 25 min. into movie I am seen walking by in background. My DH Chuck cam be seen alot in the end. You would have to search for me to see me at end. It is a great family movie and we are just proud to have been a part of it.:goodvibes

We're doing great, thanks. Been busy but good. So looking forward to the trip!

We went to WDW for a long weekend last month and it was soothing for the sol. First stay at POFQ and really liked it. I am a huge fan of Jan/Feb stays St WDW, love the weather and small crowds.

Has anyone spoken of organizing or starting to organize the Fish Extender group(s)?

Caryn

PS, were aft as well, deck 6!

Kristin (Kritter) volunteered to organize it. So contact her. I think she said that there are about 10 families signed up so far....

Does anyone know if the amount of families will be limited in groups? I am trying to purchase pieces for what I am making as I located them, but not sure how many will be needed. Thanks for any tips!

I sure hope we decide to split into smaller groups if the number of people wanting to do the FE escalates! I've done one cruise where there were TONS of families and while it was fun, it was a bit onerous and it was a pain both getting the stuff on board and also taking stuff home in a spare suitcase. My vote would be for groups around 20-25 to make it more manageable. On the last cruise I went on, that's what we did and it was still super fun.

What does everyone else think?

If you read back it was decided to split the groups in 20 stateroom groups. :thumbsup2

On this last Halloween cruise we did one big group which turned out to be just under 40 staterooms.
We had lots of Halloween stuff to take home. pirate:

Hi tinkerbelltwins!

nenner1 just mentioned to me that ya'll were friends and that you would be on the Turkey cruise. I've been enjoying her Shrek vs Mickey thread. Just wanted to say hi and that I am looking forward to meeting you! :hippie:

Thanks! I was hoping for 10-15 groups, but I can work with 20.

Hi there -- Jen is an awesome person and her husband Ron and the kiddos are the consummate cruisers. My family had so much fun meeting them two years ago on the 2010 Halloween Western Caribbean cruise. Though it would take a lot to get me off a Disney ship, I just might be convinced to go with a RCL one thanks to all of Jen's incredible trip reports. Anyone who ever gets to sail with her benefits from her amazing generosity. She organized the lanyards for a large group, arranged a trick or treat hunt on the ship on Halloween (nonDissers kept trying to join in) and I could go on and on.

I look forward to meeting you too!

Beth

Saw this on another thread:
Videos will be posted as the Fantasy makes its way to Port Canaveral:

And, while I am looking forward to the Fantasy in November, we just booked a 5-nighter on the Dream for next month, March 13 sailing! :cool1:

Have fun ! This cruise will be a first for us on any of the new ships. Saw lot's of photo's of the Fantasy that are getting me excited for this cruise !

I remember it was talked about smaller groups. I didn't know it was decided. This works well for me. :) Lot's of people on our Hawaii cruise are giving to everyone. I believe it's close to a 100 cabins. I did that on our repo cruise in 08. It's just to much !

Went back and found our slogan stuff for those who are new.
Oh looking at it again the word feasting needs to move over to the right some more.
Other then that it is great!

:surfweb::surfweb:

Looks like "Feasting on the Fantasy" is our new slogan!

By my count:
Feasting on the Fantasy received 8 votes
Pirate Pilgrims to Puerto Rico received 3 votes
Turkey Day 2012 Fantasy received 1 vote
Pirate Pilgrim Mouseketeers received 1 vote

Looks like just over half of the families on our roll call voted.

Now we get to turn toward designing the logo with the slogan in it.

As mentioned in a previous post (thanks DenverVal!), it is important to have the cruise year somewhere on the logo. I've seen logos that have ports of call mentioned sometimes too. There were some good thanksgiving designs that I posted on our meet thread a few pages back. Perhaps there is an image there that we can use? Here is the link to that:

http://www.4shared.com/dir/19077581/4fa6c900/sharing.html#dir=19128686

Or, if someone knows of something good that another designer has created, please post here so that we can all see it! We will need, of course, to get permission to use the design, but as long as we don't profit off of it, I don't think it will be problematic.

I'm willing to help spearhead the logo effort -- unless someone else wants to do it. I'm not knowledgeable on how to create images within circles, put in different colors, etc etc -- so if anyone else knows how to do this kind of stuff, please volunteer here! Also, go back to p. 13 post 188 for some more information for some ideas about what we can do with our finished logo. Thanks everyone for voting on the slogan. :)

Beth

A friend and very talented Disigner, Judy, made this logo to go with our Feasting on the Fantasy slogan. I hope everyone likes it! I sure do! Kudos to JustTJ on the boards. :)

And here is a smaller size...

Went back in the thread to find where the amounts per FE group would be and I was wrong. I could have sworn that 20 was agreed upon but all I could find were these post listing numbers. Guess we can put it up for a vote like the slogan for our cruise. :thumbsup2
I agree with Caryn. If the FE group gets larger than 25ish, I'd vote for breaking it in half. And if the group is 75ish, let's break it into thirds. Because I don't know about anyone else, but I'd rather not have to worry about getting a huge number of FE gifts both on and off the ship. With a smaller number it is easy to concentrate on them, and also easier to deliver. Just my opinion, what does everyone else think?

Remember everyone on our roll call, make sure your family votes for a slogan suggestion today as the poll closes tonight!:)

Beth

Hi Ladies,

I totally agree 25 in each group. Last cruise that is what we did and it worked out very nicely!!:):thumbsup2

Kritter - Just sent you a PM of our info for both families. Thank you for setting up the FE list. And I am with you for the 25 families per group.

Thank you!

I agree that 25 families per FE group would be the limit. On the last cruise my boys were exhausted with passing out the gifts to 25 families...hahaha...and even quit on me! I agree that if our FE group continues to grow, that even breaking it down into more groups would be helpful. So much fun!!

The "feasting" wording isn't easily moved over by yours truly as I asked a fellow Disser to do it in her spare time. I hate to ask her again since she is really busy. Personally, I don't think it looks looks bad at all. From what I understand, putting wording in the arch format within circles is really tricky unless you've got some special software and some know how. I'm certainly no expert so gladly accepted something done for free.

That said, if people are unhappy with it, we can always another design for our logo if someone else wants to contribute something! Or, if someone knows how to fix what we have, I say go for it

I hope everyone is having a great day. Beautiful here in the mid 60s. Don't know where winter went in Northern Virginia....
