I have a reservation at the Wyndham Grand for a fantastic price but one of the other families we are traveling with must have a kitchen. So I'm looking into getting them a room at the WBC.

It looks to me like building 6 is directly next door to the hotel. Is this the case and would it be a big pain for us to be in the hotel while they are in the timeshare???? Even if we were to stay in the timeshare side both families would still have there own rooms. We are all attending a convention together and will have similar schedules during the day.....we want to stay together so that we can have a little fun when we have some down time. Some meals together...some pool time together.

Any other info or advise about either property would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

nothing at WBC is to far to walk too.

It is much closer than a Disney resort - more like a value resort than a deluxe resort at Disney.

so the walk is not far. would definitely get them a timeshare at WBC - just made sure they do NOT have to listen to the sales pitch.

Yes building 6 is right next door, but as Spicey says, all of the buildings are a pretty short walk to the Grand. They also share all the facilities, so you'll be able to use the Grand's pool, etc. I'm a big fan of the Grand:thumbsup2

I got the most fab deal on the grand .....$83/night in July. So it's much less expensive than a 1br at WBC. I only need a fridge but my friends need a full kitchen...one of the kids has serious food allergies. It really sounds like this will work out perfectly for both families as long as we can get them into building 6.

Yeah at that rate, I definitely wouldn't give up the Grand. Not sure how it works at the timeshare side about getting specific buildings, but if you can pull it off, stick with it!

If you don't mind me asking, who did you book with? We are booked at WBC but need two more nights. This may work out for us.

Wyndhams offer a rate guarantee....I found a deal on hotels.com and then called the hotel directly to see if they would at least match that price. They explained the guarantee....meet it and beat it by 10%. In addition, they were running a special that if you stay more than 3 nights you get a 30% discount so that 30% + the extra 10% got me down to $83/night.

I am a Wyndham By Request member....I'm not sure if that gets you the rate guarantee or if it's available to anyone. Regardless, you can join By Request for free. I don't recall if they asked for my number before or after I asked about price matching.

Off topic, you mentioned you were attending a convention, and mentioned here a July timeframe. I'm curious what convention it was. My family is attending a convention in July, and we are staying at WBC. It may be the same convention.

Thank you so much! I am going to check into this now. I am booked at Bonnet Creek but they are full two nights in the middle of our trip so I need to find something if nothing opens up. This hotel would be the most convenient for us but I need to get it cheap!

Thanks again for your help.
