AGLET – We're Gonna Tour The World Together! Updated 11/9!!!

Love the photo of you two in front of the castle...looks like you had the kingdom all to yourselves (and what a dream come true THAT would be)!

HM remains my favorite MK ride and is practically tied for first with Soarin'. It scared me when I heard they were "updating" it, but, whew, all is well; and the new queue is so much fun! I didn't know about the ring; and now I can't wait to astonish, amaze and impress my friends with this little tidbit!

Great update!

Glad you enjoyed the HM queue so much! I have never been that far back in the park for rope drop. That must have been pretty cool! :goodvibes I am looking forward to seeing your pics later tonight!

I think you are pretty much off to a great first full day! Waking up at the Poly, lunch at CP, and the HM. What more can one ask for??????

It was really cool to get to be so far into the park for rope drop!

Hahaha It really was an epic Disney morning...and it was barely 9am by that point!

Hahaha, I wonder myself how the puffed is made. (I don't even like calling it by it's entire name because I don't like regular French toast and to me, nothing about the puffed is French toast-like.) I think you're probably right about the way it's made though! Either way it's delicious. :thumbsup2

Hahaha, I wanted to do the same thing with the busts, but we were walking too fast through it to stop. Darn. Your picture is too funny.

AH! I never noticed that it said Ravenscroft! Is that on the piano? That is so awesome!

Great update! :goodvibes

Hahaha it really isn't French toast-like at all! I'd love to figure out how to make it!

Hahaha thank you! I was glad it was so empty there at the moment so we could play with the new features! Yes, the piano was a Ravenscroft! The details really were awesome!

This is a gorgeous picture. Great colors and composition. :worship:

Love all your pictures, especially the one of you guys in front of the castle with no crowds and no fog. I love seeing an empty MK. So very cool!

I never saw the bride's ring in the queue in May and I skipped the queue altogether in December because I was trying to hurry and meet Nick and Denny!

Thank you!! My phone takes really nice pictures, but it's a bit awkward to hold the phone while taking the actual picture, so I didn't get as many as I had hoped for!

You should take a look for it! I was so excited when Wingnut spotted it!

I love what they did with the HM!
The hitchhiking ghosts are awesome, and I hope they bring it to Disneyland.
I was not expecting my head to go rolling! :rotfl2:

I do too! It really really is an awesome change!

Okay, Pooh's puffed french toast is definitely one of the best things at the Crystal Palace. So good!

HM is my absolute favorite attraction at the Magic Kingdom. I love the new queue. Honestly, I didn't look and find the ring when we were there last. Fail!

Hahaha I agree! (Wingnut may argue that he loved the breakfast lasagna a bit more...he loves super-sweet foods!)

Aww you need to look for the ring! I'm so happy that it's back!

I love that you went to HM first! When we went, there was a line through the new que, and it was harder to spend time with each item, I'm glad you went first thing and could explore! :thumbsup2

That was all Wingnut's brilliant idea! I'm so glad we got to explore the queue without crowds!

Here's hoping you get an ideal job situation! :thumbsup2

I am so behind on reports. This has been a busy, busy week. I love the Crystal Palace pictures. They have such a good breakfast there. Yummmmmm on all of it!

Good Haunted Mansion queue pictures, too. I half looked for the ring once before, but I need to really get busy and get a picture of it. I should have plenty of time to do that this summer.

Thanks!! :goodvibes

I didn't expect to love the breakfast at Crystal Palace as much as I did, but it was really great!

Thanks! I'm sure the girls would enjoy looking for it too!

Great update! Glad you got some fog-less castle pics! :thumbsup2

I have no idea how they make the puffed french toast, but whatever they do, it's yummy!

The HM queue looks like so much fun, we kind of sped through it when we were there, and I was afraid to touch anything! However, I want to look for that ring! Next time, I hope!

Thanks!! So was I!

Hahaha whatever they do, it's pure brilliance!! :worship:

You should definitely take the time to play around in the queue! Seriously, the little details are so fun!

Ugh, sorry about your job. I hope something comes along really soon!

I loved reading your CP review! If I start pleading for an early morning breakfast at CP next year, it will be thanks entirely to Wingnut and his review of the puffed french toast and the breakfast lasagna.

Isn't the HM queue awesome?! I think we went through that line instead of the regular line every time just because we loved it so much!

Thank you!! :goodvibes

LOL I will be sure to tell him you said that!! It really is a fun breakfast to do, I'm glad we went!

It so is!! Why go through the regular line with all of the fun details to see???

I saw your FB status today. Sad, but I hope something truly fabulous comes your way soon.

I am not a fan of french toast, but I do love zeppoles and fried dough, so that puffed french toast sounds yummy. As do those omelets/eggs.

I actually thought the foggy castle pics were kinda cool. And wow, you must have set some sort of buffet eating record. Fast! Even without a little one, I tend to go up for seconds, and maybe more.....

I can't wait to see the new HM soon! I totally didn't get a chance to go on it last time.

Thanks!! :goodvibes

The puffed French toast really isn't French toast-like at all! If you like zeppoles, you'll love them!

Hahaha we really were speedy that morning! And I NEVER only get 1 plate at buffets! (But I did take a ton of food that first trip!)

I already posted my update about that in my trip report (linked in sig) if you want to check out the food pics and that :)

Love the haunted mansion update. I went on Haunted Mansion when I was ten and fell asleep on my Daddy's knee. I haven't braved it since so it's interesting to see the pics of the ride and graveyard on other trip reports :)

It's definitely worth checking out! They've added so many new fun details that are really awesome!

Oh man, this update has me dying (get it, dying!) to see the new HM queue! What a fabulous time you and Wingnut had perusing it! It looks incredible and I love this ride so much, it's one of my favorites. Interesting how you opted to head here first for rope drop. It would never occur to me since my girls always want to hit SM first. But I like the idea of hitting HM first for some reason. I wouldn't want to be hurried through the interactive queue.

You've never looked up in the stretching room? Well, that right there is a reason to book another trip.

Love all of your pictures too, that facebook one of the castle is gorgeous. I somehow manage to come home with about 1,000 pics of the castle too, from so many angles! Don't you wish you could live there? I do. Oh, and I really like the ones of you and Wingnut too despite the fact that he's missing his jaunty hat.

Loved this update.:thumbsup2

It really was a great idea for us to go there first! I was so happy to not be rushed! But that works for us too because we didn't go for many of the other big-line rides like SM!

No, I had!! The first time I had was last year! But it still freaks me out!

Oh how I'd love to live in the castle! How awesome would that be??? :lovestruc

Thanks!!! For a little bit, it really did seem like we pretty much did! The early breakfast ADR was so perfect for us!

HM is definitely one of my favorites too!!! The ring is the perfect opportunity to impress your friends! If you know the general area of where you should look for it, it isn't TOO hard to find!

I should explain before this TR continues any further that, while on this trip, I was also on a quest. A mission, if you will.

A quest for a hat.

During our trip prior, in December 2011, I had seen the Muppets knit hats for sale, had strongly considered getting one, but had passed it up. They came in Beaker, Animal, and Kermit varieties (I, personally, had my sight set on Beaker).

I figured that since the new Muppets movie had just come out, there should be a plethora of Muppets merchandise around the parks, and getting the hat should be no problem…

---

Exiting the Haunted Mansion, we then deliberated on what to do next. It was still pretty early, and I suggested to Wingnut that if we wanted to grab any Fantasyland FP's while we were nearby, now might be a good time. (Namely, for Peter Pan's Flight. While we enjoy the ride, it's certainly not something that we'll want to stand in the usual long lines for.)

He declined, so we decided to backtrack to the start of our normal MK loop – the Jungle Cruise!

Approaching the ride, we noticed a large tour group congregating around the ride.

WALK FASTER!!!

We passed around them and basically walked right onto the ride.

I hoped that these tour groups wouldn't be a sign of the crowds to come this week (foreshadowing: yes, they would). We had also noticed many of the people in the parks wearing shirts from the Marathon the day before, and feared that groups of people from that as well would populate the parks (more foreshadowing: yes, they would too, but to a lesser degree than the tour groups).

Unfortunately, there truly is no more "low crowds" season at Disney any more.

Anyways, back to our two-week-long Jungle expedition!

Wait. Is the Jungle Cruise 2 weeks long? I know the Kilamanjaro Safari is. Maybe it's 3 weeks?

We love this ride, it is in Wingnut's top 3 favorites (also including the Haunted Mansion and Pirates of the Caribbean), and I love the corny jokes that accompany the ride.

("Ladies and gentlemen, your attention, please. Would the party that lost the roll of 50 $20.00 bills, wrapped in a red rubber band, please report to the turnstile...we have good news for you. We found your rubber band.") :rotfl:

Next, we completed Wingnut's Favorite Rides Trifecta by going on the Pirates of the Caribbean! It was still early enough that the rides had minimal wait times, at least in Adventureland. I wondered what Fantasyland looked like around now though…

We boarded our boat and everything was normal until we reached the scene where you sail in between the two battling ships. The explosions went off, we heard the water cannons splashing (which are normally not that close to the boat), and suddenly Wingnut and I were soaking wet.

Wait. Since when does THIS happen??? I don't remember ever needing a poncho on this ride!

We continued on, sailing through the pirates wave of looting and pillaging and auctioning off the redhead.

(Also on this ride we happened to be sailing along with a Very Prolific Photographer With A Very Bright Flash. I actually started looking away from scenes as we would ride up to them, because he would inevitably take photos of ALL of them with his blinding flash.)

(No, unfortunately, the tidal wave that soaked Wingnut and I had not washed away his camera…) ;)

After Pirates, of course, we played in the gift shop for a few moments with the swords before I instantly declared what our next ride would be.

Tropical Serenade!!! The original version!!!

Wingnut, of course, allowed himself to be dragged to the Tiki Tiki Tiki Tiki Tiki room. (He likes the Tiki birds too. Yes, really.)

Shockingly, the pre-show area wasn't crowded, and we were able to have a prime view of the entertainment.

A few minutes and countless corny jokes later, we were allowed into the theater.

Where there were many many more corny jokes. But this time, to song!

Your intrepid travelers:

Before the show had started, the usual "no flash photography" announcement was made. During the show, across from us, someone started taking plentiful amounts of flash photography.

Yep. Our Very Prolific Photographer With A Very Bright Flash from before! :rolleyes2

Happily (at least, for me), he was very quickly told to stop by the CM there.

(Yay!!) :yay:

(I wonder how many rotations of the show the poor Tropical Serenade CM's have to sit through at a time. Hopefully not TOO many…)

I enjoyed the show (Wingnut declared "once was enough for this trip"), and we then started to make our way out of Adventureland.

I don't know how I did it, but I missed the tiki room again! DOH!

I cannot understand why people take flash pictures anyway, they NEVER come out looking good and do they just ignore the rules??? BTW, those of us that are professionals would never consider a flash in a dark ride, so you can blame the amateurs who are flashing away, not us!

I was behind a couple of updates. I'm happy that you were able to take your time and really get a good look at the new queue at the Haunted Mansion. I think that Disney did a great job with it.

:thumbsup2 for stepping it up and getting around the tour group before they entered the line for Jungle Cruise. Jungle Cruise is one of our favorites and a not to be missed even though it's super corny.

What the heck was up with you and Wingnut getting wet on Pirates? That's a first.

Boo hiss to the Prolific Phlashy Photographer...way to ruin Pirates, dude! Glad to hear the CM at the Tiki Room stopped him.

Way to keep us in suspense...did she find her Beaker hat...or did she not?

What would anyone need a flash on the jungle cruise during day light? :confused3 It really disturbs me when people have no idea how to use their camera and disable a flash. Really? That camera should have gotten washed away while on the JC.

I am really looking forward to taking my nephews on this ride this summer and I can't wait to make the tarantula jump at them.

I have only seen the Tiki Birds once. Should I break down and see it in June? :rotfl:

Aha - soaked on Pirates? I would have been laughing if it had been me. Odd.

I recently came across some of those knit hats at a store in our mall. I remember thinking - hey, they have those at Disney too! Of course I tried them on, along with the care bear knit hats. Because I am just as young as my daughter.

I had a guy in front of me on the Mexico boat ride. Not only was he taking photos non-stop, he stunk. :faint:

Getting soaked on Pirates, yes! That happened to me too! I thought it was a one time deal because I hadn't read that it happened to anyone else in other TRs and I thought it was just me! Sorry, I got excited there. :flower3:

Biggest pet peeve at WDW, flash photographers. UGH! I was on Pirates with one once, she sat behind me. I asked her once to stop, she didn't. I asked her a 2nd time, she didn't and her friends then told her to stop (btw, she was a grown adult with 2 adult friends.) So the 3rd time, I put my hand up in front of her camera and MADE her stop. I told her that she was ruining the whole ride for everyone. She looked at her friends for help and they just looked at her like "we told you so." I try to stop them if I can and then when I get off the ride, I like to take photos of THEM. Oooh we should start a thread on the DIS. Take photos of flash photographers that ruin your experiences and post them! :rotfl:

first i must ask, hows the job hunt going? :confused3

and second...Yay :cool1: i am all caught up...mindly reading and typing while holding a cranky baby ;)

i have loved all of it, you and wignut had me smilimng and laugjing away from your "lost" moment to the divine puffed french toast and other food tidbits!

the best has to be WN's little juanty hat :rotfl2:

keep it coming

J~

Bravo to yall for avoiding the tour groups (at least at that moment. Ugh, tour groups. :sad2:)

I love the corny jokes too! I just find punny jokes hilarious, even though they're intended to be lame.

RIGHT? What's with the water on Pirates VIOLATING guests these days?

Aw, the Tiki room! I've never done it before, but I'm glad now that I didn't do it when it was the Under New Management version. Yay for the original! It sounds really cute.

Yay for an update !! Boo to flash photography on Pirates !! We have gotten a little wet on Pirates before, but not soaked. Yikes !! We have never done the Tiki birds. Another Disney must do to knock off our list.

I remember your whole Beaker hat dilema! You should've bought it silly!

Love love love The Jungle Cruise, it's so fun! Especially when you have a witty skipper.:thumbsup2 Good move on fast walking past the tour groups. Were they Brazilian by any chance?;) Last Jan. we saw quite a few groups, I thought my retinas were going to be permanently damaged by all those fluorescent t-shirts.

PotC is soooo good! Though I don't recall getting soaked on it! How weird. I know the canons you're talking about but we've never gotten wet.

Oh, the proverbial idiot flasher on dark rides! It's difficult to believe that people cannot understand that bright flash on a dark ride = freaking flash for everyone.:sad2: You mean if I flash my camera then the whole area will light up? Um, yes genius, that's generally how camera flashes work.

And then you got stuck with him again in the Tiki Room?!?! Ugh, bad timing. Maybe he was stalking you and Wingnut? Seeing the Tiki birds is on my list for next trip though! I love all the old school Disney attractions. (When you wrote "Tiki, tiki, tiki, tiki room" the song popped into my head! It's on my 4 Parks CD!)

That's a cool waterfall picture. Was that in the preshow to the tiki birds?

We went to Tiki room this year as well. I love the singing totem pole :)

So sorry to hear about your job situation. Hopefully your search will be brief and fruitful!

Sounds like you had a wonderful early morning at the MK. There is truly not much better in the world that the MK empty early in the morning (or very late at night :lmao:)

How cool that you got into the HM queue ahead of everyone? We missed it, as we were too eager to get Max on the ride this time around.

...and yes...people who take flash photographs on rides...UGH! Thanks for messing with my ride experience. Its just so consummately inconsiderate.

They must have done something to Pirates, because I've been reading in lots of TR's about people getting soaked lately! My camera got splashed in October and I was SO freaked out that it was going to break! :scared1:

Ugh, I can't stand people and their flashes on the dark rides! :sad2:

I really need to do the Jungle Cruise. I love corny jokes like that!
