Welcome! Welcome to the Double trip report! (TRIPS: November 2012 & Feb/March 2013!)

I'm going to be 40 next year. Yep. Need I say more?!?!

*Edited for new readers: BFF trip turned into an Anniversary trip and a Mother/Daughter trip. Confusing, I know, but I like to keep people on their toes!

Actually, yes, I ALWAYS need to say more. So, if you have way too much time on your hands, you have arrived at the place to be, my friend!

If you like a plethora of photos and snarkiness, you have also arrived at the right place.

and if you like to drink, then you are automatically admitted to the club!

I guess I should introduce myself! My name is Karen, I'm the co-writer of this PTR! My BFF, Hope, will also be posting here, she'll post in green and I will post in purple...unless I forget, which happens often, and then I'll post in green and you'll be confused. got it?!?! AND, this just proves what a great BFF I am b/c green is both our favorite colors!

I'm a photographer, runner(when not injured), homeschooling Mom of three. My husband of 20 years is a truck driver and we live out in a pretty rural area, in a small town. I grew up in St. Louis, however, so it's been an adjustment! Disney keeps me sane most of the time. I'm a vegetarian who is vegan and raw most of the time as well, but all bets are off when I'm at Disney!

OHMYGOSH! All this talking and not enough pictures! Here I am, at the end of January 2012, on our fabulous first-alone-without-ILs-trip! That's my baby, Savannah,(on the left) with me and her friend who came with us on the right.

So, back to this old business! I'm turning 39 in just mere weeks, but pay no attention to that, I will be 40 next year! I have been running for a few years (between injuries!) and I decided last year that I wanted to run the Princess 1/2 at WDW! I'm PUMPED about it, although my body is less excited, but I'm dragging it along whether it wants to or not!


Of course what could be better than running a 1/2 marathon right before you turn 40? DRINKS, of course! Grey Goose slushie, anyone?!?!? Or 10???

Ok, I admit I'm being a bit spirited about this PTR, but I just finished up my TR from an amazing trip (see my siggie if you are interested) and I'm super excited to get back to WDW...aren't we all?!?

Where was I? (get used to this folks)

Oh yes, DRINKS! So who better to have copious amounts of drinks with??? My BFF! I cannot tell you how this friendship saved me from a slow death out in rural Missouri, but it did. Hope is the best friend a girl could have, we are eerily similar in our thought processes, although we rarely agree on books!

I'll let Hope post a pic of herself...or I could dig up that Christmas shot of us Hope???

I'm talking too much, aren't I?

Edited to add: I am ALSO now planning a quick 3 night getaway in November 2012 with my husband! I cannot seem to get enough of WDW and since he loves it as well, why not get away for a 21st Anniversary trip?!?!?

So, since I'm a photographer, so expect there to be a photo in nearly every update! I'll even post mundane photos if I have to, as long as I can post one! We are going from February 23rd to the 28th, 2013 and it seems far away, but I know it will fly by! In the mean time, there are sure to be lots of training, lots of photos, lots of laughs, and DRINKS! We have to practice, ya know.

Hi everyone! I'm Hope, the aforementioned fabulous BFF.

That's me and my family on our Sept. 2010 trip. I homeschool my two kids as well and my daughter, Kya 11, and Karen's daughter are good friends as well (thank goodness- for a while they were lukewarm to each other but we just kept pushing them together so WE could hang out)! I also have a son, Jace, who will 13 next week! And my fabulous hubby, Robbie, and I have been married for 17 years. He does not love Disney but I decided it wasn't a deal breaker.

That trip was magical for lots of reasons (which you can read all about in my TR linked in my sig) but I'm SO looking forward to going to Disney with Karen! She is the REASON I'm a Disney nut (although a tiny little nut compared to her). I always refer to her as the Fairy Godmother of the Mouse Mafia because she recruited HARD to get me to go Disney. And I'm so glad she did because it was while she was helping me plan my family trip that we realized what kindred spirits we are.

Aside from Disney I just love travel in general. I've traveled all over and love to go to new places- but a trip to Disney is almost like a new place every time because it's always changing and impossible to see it all in one trip!

I'm also a photographer but have pretty much hung up my hat for doing it for others and just enjoy it as a hobby now- but no worries that just means more pics for me to share with all of YOU!

So, let the pictures and planning commence!

If you want tips on adult drinks you have definitely come to the right place- Karen and I are happy to take the hit and do that research for everyone here on the dis!

MIXED reviews about my beloved slushie! I can NOT imagine that anyone wouldn't find it to be divine! And just to show you how marvelous it is I have to share my pic of the Gran Marnier Orange Slushie that Karen bought for me on my trip. Via gift card which she sent with me for that specific purpose.

I haven't tried the Lemon Citron one yet and I know Karen prefers it to the orange so it's on my "Must Do" list.

Mmmmm, I LOVE the Lapu Lapu as well (IS there a drink I don't love?!?!?) BUT, I only have a slightly blurry pic of it from our 2009 trip...I drank TWO of them! Maybe that's why the picture is blurry!

Hope is right, we will be HAPPY to do the research on Disney drinks and report back! Ooooh, we should make a list and try to taste a whole bunch of different drinks! I kind of forget stuff like that when I get there, so maybe a list...or CHALLENGE!

Hey Karen, I think we need to have DISNEY DAY to kickstart this PTR!

I'm thinking a Snow White day sometime in the next couple of weeks to celebrate Mirror Mirror opening.

Seems like a legitimate excuse to have a Disney day without alerting the girls to the fact that we're talking about the trip they don't get to go on.
