I hope to get my DH out to the Dam, he has never seen it or the grand Canyon before.

We did both of those trips and I highly recommend them. Do the "Deluxe" tour of the dam for your DH's sake. It takes you inside so you can see how everything works. There is a forum on these somewhere on this site with some good suggestions.

I will go look for them... He is an Engineer and loves to see how things look... So I will do the Deluxe for sure...

Last year my DH and I did a trip from Vegas to the Hoover Dam with Pink Jeep Tours, we had a great time and highly recommend it, here is a link with more info..

We also saw Jersey Boys, we very highly recommend this show. It has moved to the Paris Casino and the prices are higher than last year, but we loved it so much we might just see it again this year in May.

DH and I just got back from our first trip. We're close to 40 and don't gamble at all. We spent 2 nights at Paris and 2 nights at Hard Rock, as we were seeing Motley Crue and it was convenient. Our favorite things were the Zumanity show and roller coaster at NYNY, hanging out at Gilley's to see a live country band and ride the mechanical bull, an El Dorado Canyon ATV tour through Awesome Adventures, and shooting at The Gun Store. We had more fun off the strip than on it!

I have never shot a gun in my life and was nervous about it, but am so glad we did it! The Gun Store is just a few miles off strip, a $10 cab ride. Here's their web site: http://thegunstorelasvegas.com/. You can purchase a package to shoot various guns. They have a ladies package, that I purchased for $50 that allowed you to shoot a Glock (handgun - 20 shots) and AR-15 (semi-automatic - 10 round, I believe). DH purchased the Coalition package for $129 and shot a Beretta handgun, M4A1 (fully automatic), SAW (light machine gun). Both packages came with a tee-shirt. Their waiver kind of freaked me out, but our gun master was awesome, made me feel very at ease, was with us on the range the whole time, and they provided perfect instruction throughout the experience. I'd highly recommend this!

Also, if you decide to do this, the earlier the better. We showed up just before noon yesterday, a Sunday, and the line quickly piled up behind us. We ended up waiting almost an hour. They are open at 9am every day, so it might be worthwhile to get there early!

Thanks... we have done V&A before and loved it, so thanks for the comparison.

My DH and I neither one really like buffets, but you are giving this one a thumbs up..hmmmm...

A couple of recommendations. Regarding buffets, Las Vegas is known to have some spectacular buffets and it will depend on which buffet you eat at. We normally eat at the Bellagio buffet and various times at the Wynn buffet. The last time we went, we tried the buffet at the Aria. I would recommend either doing a dinner or brunch buffet at either of those locations but would say the Aria was not as good as the Wynn or Bellagio. Keep in mind, these are going to be pricier than say an MGM buffet because it serves higher quality food. The shrimp cocktail for example are on the jumbo size and depending on serving time (dinner, holiday, etc) they may also offer king crab legs. Their desserts are awesome if you're a dessert lover.

As far as shows, I would recommend watching the "O" show at the Bellagio.

Lastly, if you're looking for a fine dining experience, I would recommend the W Steakhouse at the Wynn. It's great. We've been there a few times but keep in mind they do have apolicy that require men to wear jackets. Of course, reservations are required.
