I just changed our reservations from the POFQ (never been before) to the AKL. I called about 30 minutes ago and made the change. DH and I have never been to the AKL and based on the pics in this thread alone I can tell it will not disappoint!

Thanks to you for all of the great work in creating this thread. I look forward to reading through the whole thread this weekend.

My hubby is finishing up a year long deployment in Afghanistan (his 4th) and we are taking this family vacation when he comes home. I am keeping the AKL upgrade a surprise from him and he'll find out the day we arrive (we're driving).

I have 5 recitals today and as of last night the weatherman was calling for our first "snowstorm" of the winter. Here in Virginia, drivers panic at the thought of snow, so this should be an interesting day. Wish me luck!

It was my understanding that all of the CL rooms were on the savannah...now the first page on this thread says savannah or pool view...when did this change? Kind of takes away some of the desire to stay CL if that's the case...can anyone confirm?

I think that all CL rooms that are paid for with cash have a savannah view. With the DVC CL, half of them have a savannah view and half of them have a pool view.

I am waiting until the cruise to book this as I will get some discount and a nice OBC when booking on board.

That makes sense. I'm sure it's so nice to have that OBC. I'm hoping to rebook something and still get the same stateroom and hopefully an OBC, but I don't know if they do that.

If you book a new cruise on board, you get a 10% discount for category 11B and above, pay only half the deposit and get an OBC. I know for cruises 7 nights or longer it is $200 for Silver Castaway Club members, $275 for Gold Castaway Club members and $350 for Platinum Castaway Club members. I know the OBC for 3, 4 and 5 night cruises is less, but I am not sure how much this would be. If the same stateroom is available, then you can select it when booking on board.
