Dream Cabin 9512?

Hello,

I've searched the stateroom reports here and Googled the heck out of "Disney Dream Cabin 9512" but so far have not been able to find any info on this room. It's a Navigator's Verandah and we have it booked for July 2013. I'm just wondering if we should bite the bullet and upgrade to a "real" verandah now before prices increase.

Thanks!

Based on the picture I have of the ship, and checking out the deck plans, it appears that your room is a cat 7A, just like my 9152. They were downgraded to cat 7's from cat 5's because part of the wall of the ship comes down your verandah, potentially making part of your verandah behind this wall. It will still be a plexiglass railing, it just won't be plexiglass for the full width of your verandah. Our friends had a similar room on deck 7 ... they always used to get the the true navigators verandahs on the Magic & Wonder, so they had no issues with this "part wall" ... felt it blocked the wind if necessary, but were still able to sit in front of the clear part if they wanted it.

The disney cruiseline website gives a picture of these rooms that hopefully will show you what I mean by this "part wall". :thumbsup2 I purposely chose one of these cabins to get the cheaper price. ;) However, on deck 9, the white wall is more at the top of your verandah, and you will likely have plexiglass for almost the full width. The pic on the cruise website is definitely showing a cat 7A on deck 9. :) Hope this helps!

We just got back from a 4 night on the dream and stayed in 9512...you have a bit of a sloping wall on the left side of the balcony, otherwise it is a completely open and normal balcony. I actually liked the fact that it blocked the wind while at sea, but was still almost completely open....I will post some pics when I get them off my camera.

or not....i dont have enough posts for links or images...maybe PM me and i can send you the pic..

Apparently I can't send a pm without 10 posts either....if you put http in front of the link below, you can Dl from my Dropbox.

That's not nearly as bad as I expected! Of course, I've never cruised before so I have no idea what TO expect. I'm not so keen on wind so I'll probably hunker down behind that overhang while still enjoying the view.

Thanks again for the photo!

Thanks so much for this. :worship: I actually went from a 4C to a 7A to save over $1,000 and now I'm happy I did. Hopefully it will be the same on the Fantasy

Not all 7a's are like that....some are the port hole style.
There are no navigators verandahs 7A (port hole style) on the Dream or Fantasy, only the obstructed view regular verandahs, and two under-sized verandahs. We usually booked NV, but are pleased to have 7680 on the Fantasy for our May cruise.

Strange....I'm pretty sure the cabin next door to me had a round opening on their verandah...

I think the room next to you was an actual Oceanview room ... so no balcony, just the big 5 foot porthole window. They are flush with the balconies, so the inside of the room is actually a few feet longer than the verandah rooms! :thumbsup2
