Hello Poly lovers! Ok... so here is my mini trip report!
We checked in on Saturday, February 4 and actually arrived about 11:30am and they greeted us at the bus! That was pretty awesome considering we weren't staying CL this time and we had never had that before. So... he walked us inside and since I had done online check-in it was pretty quick. As I said before, we were put in room 1208 in Aortearoa which is on the left side of Tonga. Not a far walk to the GCH but not convenient to the buses or anything else on property. But... we still enjoyed it!
Because it was just mom and me we pretty much had a chill Disney trip. We went to and from the parks as we pleased and really didn't wait in line for anything for too long. We waited 15 minutes for Soarin' but the rest of the time it was in and out. Of course my mom uses an ECV because she has had knee replacement and can't walk the parks for too long which helps us get in and out of some rides quicker than others. We try not to abuse it though, she will park it alot and walk it if it isn't too long.
We did rent a car for a day because she wanted to go to the Outlet mall and we were going to do Sea World but changed our minds. We ended up changing our schedule and driving over to DHS that day which worked out well! We spent about 4 1/2 hours there and did all we needed to do, including dinner at 50's Prime Time!
We actually had dinner at Ohana two nights because it is now one of her new favorite restaurants on property! And it was good! I surprised her that night with a custom cake (ordered from GF) and delivered to the table at Ohana. I am taking her on the Disney Dream in September and I told her with a cake!
We have done the Magic and Wonder and are doing the Fantasy in December so why not do them all?
The pic of that cake is below!
Of course we had dinner at Chef Mickeys one night which is a must do for us. We visited the MK 3 times and EPCOT twice. We decided against doing AK because we feel it isn't a park we want to do every time we go. We even came back and took naps in the afternoon sometimes!
It was really awesome and really the way I like to do Disney now. Of course if and when I ever have kids I am sure it will be different, but for now I am enjoying the adult trips!
As far as our room went. It was really clean and we liked stepping out of our room onto a sidewalk that was right alongside the monorail. I know it isn't a TPV but it was the next best thing! I know where that monorail goes!
It was extremely quiet in that building and that area though. It was a great location for taking the boat and for being close to the GCH. Unfortunately, mom can't take the boat with the ECV so we have to do the monorail.
Mousekeeping did a pretty decent job everyday. I like when they pay attention to detail and that will get them an extra dollar or two the next day. We typically leave $3-$5 for them per day depending on how we think they did.
We received 3 notes in our room while there. One was to let us know the slide at the volcano pool would close on Feb 6. Another was to let us know that they would be doing show rehearsals at the MK on certain nights and they run the rehearsals between 1am and 3am so they apologized for any disturbance. And honestly, we heard and saw nothing. And the last one was to let us know they were going to be spraying the side of our building one morning, which again was no big deal.
The shops had the same things in them they had 3 months ago so I wasn't impressed. I am always looking for new Disney attire to add to my collection or new jewelry or purses. However... they do have new luggage for those of you that like Disney luggage.
Other than that, there is nothing new to report from Poly world! I won't be back until September so I will be keeping up with all of you! Below are some pics I took! Oh... and I did get to see Eli Manning at the MK on Feb 6 which was cool! I am a Colts fan/Peyton Manning fan so to see the little brother was the next best thing!
Hope all of you that have trips coming up have a great time!
