I originally booked a cat 11b. It is just my son and I (husband not going) and I just wanted the cheapest way on the boat! I was playing around with my reservation the other day and saw that a cat 9A GTY was available for $6 less so I switched. They are bigger and have an oceanview!! Well, now I see that all cat 9As are at the end of the ship, and I have seen some pictures with a wierd layout (couch not infront of TV, slanted wall, pole in middle of the room, slanted porthole window). Are all cat 9a rooms like this? Will I be doing a ton of walking? Is that why it was cheaper? What are my chances of getting an upgrade with a GTY?

Thanks!!!!

P.S. I will be happy no matter what! Sailing Disney is better than any alternative!! Just want to know what to expect;)

The far forward rooms with the slanted walls are no longer considered Category 9A. They are either 9C or 9D now. However, the 9A staterooms are also forward.

i'm sorry wish i could help but the 9A we had in Aug was reclassified or i would have been able to help with pictures :sad2:

I am looking at choosing one of these rooms now they have been down graded. Do you know if you can tell by the description on the DCL website?

The cat 9C rooms say "One Porthole with Obstructed View" and 9D rooms say "One Porthole with Obstructed View - Limited View of Ocean"

Thanks

The 9D rooms are the corner rooms. The ones in between them (all far forward) are 9C.

Thanks everyone for your replies! Thanks to MJ for undated deck plan!! I actually have the one from my Dream cruise last year and didn't realize some the 9a rooms have been reclassified. Excited about my upgrade!!:woohoo:
