Can anyone tell me pros and cons to staying at one of these over the other. Also where did you book? We are looking for the week of May 20-27 and looking for a 2 or 3 bedroom condo.
Thx!!

If you are talking about the Cypress Pointe the one with the volcano pool then here is my 2 cents, if it is the Cypress Marriott then I have no clue. Wyndham Bonnet Creek was a bit out of the way for grocery shopping and going out to non-Disney places, it was AWESOME for all Disney locations though. It is just isolated to the other outside services and surrounded by the nicest of resorts. When I stayed at Cypress Point our group could walk to shops and a few restaurants.

Wyndham is much newer and nicer in every way with the unit. Unless they changed the carpet recently, when I stayed at Cypress Pointe my kiddos feet got black from walking on the carpet, it was nasty! I also found the grounds not to be keot up as well.

If I voted I would vote for Wyndham almost always unless you were on a tight budget and wanted to walk to the services.

I have stayed at both Bonnet Creek and Cypress Point Resort and Grande Villas! They are both nice resorts! Bonnet Creek is more upscale, and has some great pools! If you are doing all Disney, then this would be a great choice! If you are doing other things besides Disney then I would vote for Cypress Pointe. Even though it is a little older, it is still a great resort. Alot of the builidings on the Grand villas side have been refurbished with marble counter tops and new carpet (although I didn't have any problems in the old one) This will be my 3rd stay at Cypress in March. I like the grand villas side over the resort side! I have a 2 bdrm rented from an owner on myresortnetwork.com (if you would like his name I can PM you!) we are paying $650 for 13 nights. Last year we paid $625 for a 2 bdrm. Our friends that are coming with us, got a 2 bdrm for 7 nights for $415 in a 2 bdrm, all taxes and fees in!
Really, it depends on what you are doing while you are there! I hated the dreaded traffic outside of Bonnet Creek, but loved the resort. I love Cypress Pointe for it's location and how close it is to walk to all the restaraunts in the area (chili's, giordanos, chevy's, Olive garden, sweet tomatoes, and marconi grill) also, a quick exit out the back is a liquor store, and a winn dixie, and seaworld & aquatica is a 5 min drive out the back entrance as well, or downtown disney out the front. Any more questions, ask away!

I have also stayed at both resorts and totally agree with greenclan67 about the pros ans cons of each resort. If I was doing a Disney Trip, I would go with Bonnet Creek, but for Seaworld, Universal, I would go for Cypress Pointe.

I also wanted to add that we rented a 2 bedroom unit for $42/night at Cypress Pointe in May 2011 and we paid a little more than double that amount for Bonnet Creek (in a 2 bed Presidential).

I think you will enjoy either resort

agree with op - they are both nice resorts. also prefer Cypress Pointe - it is much smaller so to me the atmosphere is a bit friendlier.

you can check in early at both places.

there was also a grocery store within walking distance.

I too have stayed at both and tend to agree with all of the previous posters.. it depends on what you are going to do. If you want to be consumed by Disney (which sometimes I do ;)), then I would say BC, if not go with CP. I will say, I do like the pools & furniture at BC much better than CP. Last time I stayed at BC they didn't have wireless internet, and that is a pain in you know where, but it is free. CP does have wireless, but it is not free.

I would love to have the contact info!! Thanks so much that is really helpful!!!!! :) We are doing Disney all week but I really like the sound of those great prices for the week!!

We recently stayed at CP and I think it depends on how you travel. For me I wouldn't stay on the "Phase 1" side again because there are no elevators in the buildings. It was a trip with just me and my 2 and 5 year old. We do not travel lightly and hauling all of the "stuff" and the groceries up stairs was a PIA. In addition at the end of the day with 2 sleeping kids it was hard to manage.

Other than the stair issue, it was a nice place. The pool was fun for the kids, the volcano was neat to go and see at night, the playground was nice too. It was clean enough and for us quiet. For the price I paid it was fine, but in the future we will make sure to stay at resorts with elevators.

I sent you a PM with the information! Even if you are doing Disney, it is not far for you to travel! I think 2 stop lights from the resort to the "gates" of Disney! I don't think you will disappointed in Cypress Pointe!
The phase 2 side, (grand villas) does have elevators. If you call about 24 hours before hand, you can put a request in and most times they will try to accomodate!

Does anyone know if the phase 1 CP resort has had any renovations to the rooms in the last couple of years?

A complete renovation in ongoing at Cypress Pointe Resort (the so-called Phase I) over the past couple of years ago. I understand that all but 38 villas were completed by November 2011 and those last 38 villas are scheduled for renovation this year.

Haven't stayed at Bonnet Creek, but have stayed at Cypress Pointe three different times (Phase I twice and Phase II once) and really like the resort and location. Do note that we always get a three bedroom when we are here and the room configuration is a little different -- two master bedrooms and a third bedroom that is really small (two twins). I like a warm pool in the winter months and the pools here are a great temperature. // On TUG2.net a timeshare users group both Bonnet Creek and Cypress Pointe get good ratings with TUG member rating Cypress Pointe just a little higher. // When I've stayed at Cypress Pointe I rented from timeshare owners I found on TUG2.net classified ads section or Redweek.com. This can work well if you are staying for a full week.// If you have a shorter stay they sometimes have some good deals on retail stays. The last version of the Unoffiicial Guide rated Cypress Pointe one of their top 10 for value (quality for the price).

Hello, we have booked a presidential room at the Bonnet Creek, any suggestions which is a better building 5 or 6 for pools, Disney shuttle, etc? Thanks for any input. :surfweb:

I have stayed at CP before, and we loved it. We used hotelkingdom.com, but it seems that site is gone. So, this trip I'm planning on staying at BC, but have only gotten a quote, not booked yet, I have checked other sites to see what rate I could find for CP, but I can only find rates at close to $200/ nite! Ouch!! Where did you find it for $49.00/nite? I would go back to CP for that rate!! Please, send me the info too!

I would also love the contact. We stayed here previously thru gotelkingdom and got a great price. Nothing even close to that now. Thanks
