The pool staying open so late means we wont feel so rushed to get back to the resort before a certain time so that DD can swim! Love it!

Thanks for the info!
:thumbsup2

Just to clarify, you are allowed to swim in the pool, but the SLIDE is CLOSED when the lifeguards leave. This is the case at all of the Disney resorts.

Got 2 packs of Mickey Mail...and an email from IPO...it's real now LOL!!! :cool1:

Sweet camera - cha-ching! Take some pics for me please!

Oh wait, I'll be there before that...well then, don't be dissing on my Canon Powershot pics LOL!!

I know this has been asked before, but what do you think of Poly Cl? We have stayed at the Poly 3 times in a GV. Its been wonderful. I read a lot of conflicting reviews of Cl. Not just at Poly, but at all resorts. I still have the urge to try it.

There's a thread on this board right now on the same topic. I'll tell you what I told them.

For us the location alone is worth it. The volcano pool is 5 steps from the Hawaii building, and the GCH is a 2 minute walk. The quiet pool is also right on the other side. Watching Wishes from the lounge at night can't be beat, and the view during the day is breathtaking. We absolutely love CL at the Poly.

We always request the Samoa longhouse and have gotten it. As you know it is right next to the pool. Now that I have stayed at every disney deluxe which resort to stay at is no longer a issue. There are only 3 my family approves of. I know they are spoiled. The hard part for me is how to eat on vacation. CL, DXDp, TIW or nothing. I do this every trip.:confused3I do like how the Poly Cl is right next to Pool. It makes it so easy to run in and grab a drink or a snack. Hopefully I will decide soon. We take long trips and have spent so much time in the parks that eating has become our biggest descision.

We have the same problem. We opted for CL and TIW this trip, as the numbers work out much better. We're there for 12 nights and made 11 ADRs, some of which I wouldn't even waste a DDP credit on. I like to plan lunches in the park we are going to in the morning and leave the night open for swimming and relaxing. Lunches aren't really cost effective on the DDP.

Dani - you summed up exactly what I have decided about staying at the Poly, that is "if" I ever convince DH to stay there. I have read negatives and positives about the Poly CL but I do think booking CL and knowing you will be staying in the Hawaii Bldg is worth it. Location, Location, Location :goodvibes

I have to agree with everything that has been said. The location can't be beat and the use of the lounge is a big plus for us. We stayed CL for the first time last fall and it was so nice with the kids to have that extra space. It's also great to have the snacks available - we would often swing through the lounge to pick something up on our way back from the parks. We too have found it tricky figuring out the best way to eat while at WDW. We find the DP is too much food. This last trip we ate all but one breakfast in the lounge (we're not heavy breakfast eaters), we generally planned our "big" meal of the day at a TS or CS place while out at the parks and then had a dinner time "snack"/light meal with the CL offerings. It worked well for us. I should say though that the dinner hour offerings in the lounge are more appetizer type foods and meant for a light eat and not a full meal (although some people unfortunately think otherwise and heap their plates ... :sad2: ). It was also nice to head down to the lounge in the evening for a drink and to sit by the windows, take in the view & relax. We definitely found CL to be worth it and have booked it again. :thumbsup2

We have only done the dxdp because we eat at so many signatures. Sometimes will hit all 9 plus do the hddr. We do some TS and some QS lunches. We always eat dinner late 800 or later. My kids like having a snack around 5pm so the snacks come in handy. We also use the snacks for breakfast. It seems to work for us, but do spend a lot of money on food. I keep wondering if there is a cheaper way to do things, and still enjoy our vacation.

It works for some, not for others. It doesn't work for us. TIW fits our touring style much better. Especially since we can use it at the food court at Pop! I will run the numbers again when we get back since I save all receipts but as of right now we are saving over $500 and that's including apps and drinks.

Does that include the 100+ a night extra for Cl. I guess I always figure the extra cost Cl into the equation.

We were staying CL anyway so I don't figure it into the cost.

I think we are going for 16 nights now. Now I'm looking at staying at 4 different resorts to make everyone happy, and keep the cost under control. BC for my kids, Hrh Cl for my dh, and Poly for me. I'm going to throw in a few days at CSR just because I have the time off work and why not. Like you I wish I could spend the whole 12 disney nights at Poly. I'm currently looking at 6 at Poly with DXDP, 3 at BC with ddp, 4 at HrH club level and 3 at CSR no dining. Not in that order CSR will be first. Always got to do the mod first. This is without a doubt going to be the wackiest vacation ever. I don't even like split stays.:rotfl:The kids are jazzed 4 different pools. What could be better than that right? I'm going to teach them how do do laundry, and how to pack before we leave.

I wish you guys would write a trip report cause that trip sounds CRAYZAY and super fun! I hope your trip goes great! Keep us up to date on your plans, okay?

I'd love to extend our 12 nights a little longer but I'm upgrading my camera and adding a few lenses so it's not in the budget to stay longer especially when I'd want them to be at the Poly.

We have gone for 2 week the last 2 Mays. Its been just Hrh and Poly in the past. This year because of spur of the moment Dec trip we took my May trip has been reworked about 100 times trying to stay within budget. The price of the Poly is problematic this year, but I just can't give it up no matter how many times I try. In comes BC and CSR. I think the cost of 3 nights at CSR= 1 at Poly.:lmao:Bc of course will save us a few bucks, and I got a great rate at HRH 246.00 for CL. You gotta love Universal pricing.

My dh thinks I'm nuts, but I know you guys would understand. If I have to stay at 4 resorts to get 6 nights at Poly so be it. I am starting to think this might be fun. I'm going to have to learn not to overpack. Yeah right.
