We have the early seating for dinner and will NEVER make it to the early seating of breakfast on the last day(Is it at like 6:30?). I was wondering if there are any other options for breakfast that serve after 7:00. If there is another option how crowded is it? Thanks!!!

On the Dream you can go to Cabanas for a buffet breakfast. That's what we did, since we also had main dining and couldn't get up for the 6:45 a.m. breakfast.

Thanks! Just a few more questions...We will be sailing on the Dream. What hours does the buffet run and is it really crowded?

The buffet breakfast runs from earlier than I'm up till 8:30 on normal cruises. On some special ones (like in Barcelona) it opened even earlier than normal.

You have a couple of options if you don't like your assigned time. You can ask your head server whether he can make arrangements for you at the other seating or eat on the pool deck at one of the open outlets there.

What worked well for us was ordering a couple of BLT's the night before (on the Dream) and putting them in the fridge. We got up and were able to have something to eat while packing the last few items that we'd kept to carry off the ship (pj's, my dad's cpap machine, etc).

After we were done eating and packing, we just walked off the ship.

They serve room service faily late on the last night of the voyage. If I remember right, I had coffee/donuts/cereal/milk/juice delivered around 11PM or so. Made for a great breakfast the next morning and no muss or fuss with crowded buffets, etc. By the time we finished packing and eating, we were able to just walk right off the ship w/o any wait. In fact, as a side note: I've read a lot of threads about long lines to get off the ship at various ports; long lines to disembark, etc. As my partner and I are perpetual 'doddlers' and never seem to arrive early at anything, I must say it's been to our advantage on these trips. Since we're always arriving at the end of the pack so to speak, we never seem to have to wait for much at all:cool1: But, back to the point, I highly recommend doing the room service thing and skipping the restaraunt breakfasts all together.

NOTE--room service does not deliver to regular cabins on the last morning. You need to have the food delivered the night before and put it in your fridge.

You are still asked to be out of your room by 8 am--regardless of where you have breakfast.

Room service is a good idea. How late do they deliver room service on that last night?

I thought I remembered midnight being the latest, but according to the most recent navigator for the Dream listed on this site (from Nov.) it was available until 1:30 a.m. Interestingly, on the Magic it appears to be available until 2:00.

Can you be OUT of your room by 8 but sitting down to eat breakfast at 8? I think I missed the post as to what time the last seating for breakfast is if you have the late dinner or request the late breakfast? TIA

Yes, you can be out of your room by 8 with your carryon luggage, and either go to the late seating at 8 or 8:15AM or go to the buffet. If you are assigned early seating and don't want to go that early, then just go up to the buffet which stops searving food at 8:30AM.

Last week room service shut down at 1am on the Magic the last night.

Sweet! I think we prefer buffet breakfast anyway. My Dh is GAGA over Mickey waffles!

Yes, you are asked to leave your regular stateroom by 8 (concierge by 9) and be off the ship by 9. Late seating breakfast starts serving at 8 and you may be scheduled for 8:15 depending on your assignment. You take your carry ons with you to breakfast and don't return to the cabin after that.

Hmm, that was from a December Navigator... it must change from time to time. Either that or my eyesight is getting even worse than I thought!

We have done 3 cruises and have had main dining each time. On each of the last days we have always hit the buffet. With young kids esp. getting up and hitting early seating that last morning is out of the question. This way you still get a good breakfast into everyone, and if you are smart you grab a couple of things for later in the day. We have generally grabbed a couple of the containers of cereal they have on board which makes for a great snack for the plane ride home. Avoid the fresh fruit however since they give a huge warning over the fines that can be involved in bringing fresh fruit into the country (leaves you scratching your head a bit since the fruit was originally loaded on the boat in Port Canaveral).

How crowded is Cabanas on the last morning around 7:30-8ish(we have 2 adults and 4 kids)? I remember going to the early seating on our last cruise and I ordered the pancakes and they brought like 2 little pancakes out and hurried us along. I KNOW that they need to get everyone fed in a very short amount of time, but we were all starving by 10 a.m.. Do they still give very meager portions that last morning at breakfast? This would be just one more reason to hit the buffet!!!
