Let's be Spontaneous!January '12- Sunrise Breakfast and EMH! 2 part update(3/11)

Once we got back up to the room, we grabbed our bag, our ears, and we were on our way!!!

We went down to the lobby where I asked a very nice lady in a very nice suit (some kind of manager of something) where the busses were. I think that the bus stop location at Animal Kingdom Lodge is a bit confusing!! She gave us directions, and out the door we went!

Once we got to the bus stop we noticed that there were several families already waiting for the Magic Kingdom bus, so we gathered with them, and waited. And waited. And Waited.
More and more families started lining up behind us, and about 25 minutes later an almost full bus rolled around!
We were lucky enough to get on the bus, and soon enough we were rolling up to the most magical bus stop!!

Before we could go in though, we had to stop at guest services to purchase our Armed Forces Salute tickets! I was so impressed with the way that they handle this line! One person greets you at the beginning, and then when you get to the front of the line, there is another person who guides you to the next open window! It was such an organized process that the line didn’t seem so bad at all!

I was so excited to be back, and Josh and I just stopped for a moment when we saw this sign to really appreciate that we are lucky enough to be able to travel to Disney on a regular basis.

Josh grabbed my hand and lead me into the Magic Kingdom!

Much to our surprise, the Magic Kingdom was still in full Christmas mode! Josh spotted this guy right away, and wanted a photo!

We wandered around a bit by the train station, looking at some of the decorations.

IMG_5854.jpg

We started to head down Main St. stopping to enjoy the Main St. residents harassing some passing families. I politely asked the Mayor if I could have a photo with him. He was more than happy to oblige me!

IMG_5853.jpg

After the mayor, I wanted another photo!!

IMG_5855.jpg

After our photo, we were lectured by the very wonderful woman about never going to bed angry, and that we were still very much in honeymoon phase. She point blank told us that we may not always like each other, but we will always love each other.

Before we go much farther into the story, I have to admit something. I became obsessed with the trolley on this trip. We were going to ride it or die trying.

Anywho, we continued down Main St, and we stopped to grab our photopass, and our first photopass picture of the trip!

I love when people share their bad photos, so in the spirit, I try to do the same! Here is one that is pretty interesting! Wonder why my eyes were closed?

Photo0004FourBySix.jpg

As we approached the hub I saw it. THE TROLLEY!!!!!

IMG_5856.jpg

Not only was the trolley stopped so you could take photos, there was a photopass person right next to it!!!!! Castle and Horsey in the same photo? YES PLEASE!!!!!

Photo0008FourBySix.jpg

I put the wrong border on this, but thought I would share it anyway, because it looks cute with the border

Photo0010FourBySix.jpg

At this point I was skipping around like a toddler, and Josh was just trying to keep me from getting killed by a passing stroller.

Of course on our way to Tomorrow Land we had to stop and get a few more fun photopass photos!!

AND NOW, THE RETURN OF JOSH’S “SURPRISED FACE” This face has earned some great comments in the past!

Photo0018FourBySix.jpg

And now, his handsome face with a wonderful smile!

On the bridge to Tomorrow Land

Photo0028FourBySix.jpg

Once we had these photos on the photopass, I knew it was time to take a photo of the back of the card. (remember this, it becomes important).

As we headed over the bridge we were on a mission. We needed to defeat the evil Zurg!!!!

IMG_5858.jpg

Josh beyond creamed me, but we both had a great time!

IMG_5861.jpg

We stopped to get Josh a fun photo with Zurg!

IMG_5863.jpg

On the way out we grabbed a set of fastpasses to come back later! We also spied this fun little guys!

IMG_5864.jpg

We then spent about 45 minutes trying to figure out if they were offering trolley rides that that, and if they were, where we could get one. Once I gave up for the time being, we hopped onto the train, to catch a quick ride to Frontier Land!!

On the train we met a sweet couple who’s picture I took. They offered to take one of us as well!

We luckily got "non Christmas" Main St. later in the trip :lmao: Feel free to pick away! :goodvibes

Not sure that it is truly called a trolley, I just love that song that they sing and dance to, and the song calls it a trolly. Add to that the fact that I pretty much make up names for everything I see, and BAM it's a trolly!

Thanks for liking my pics! I did the edits really fast, and just went ahead and ordered it. I have found that the more edits I do, the less I print :confused3 I think I get overwhelmed!

I am ashamed. I didn't know there was a mayor. And I didn't know there was a horse drawn trolly. I will go hang my head in shame now. :sad1::sad2:

On my second day I saw some people dancing in front of some other transportation thingy - I wonder what that one's called!

you are probably right about the edits on the photopass. I added borders, I cropped, etc, and will probably have too many photos when I get the cd!

hmmm was it the bus thingy? You have kids though (I peeked at your TR last night) so you need oddles more photos than I do!!

We luckily got "non Christmas" Main St. later in the trip :lmao:
That would be really neat to see both on the same trip. I'm sure it makes the differences stand out more. That and it would just blow me away to see how much effort they have to put in to doing so much to the parks.

It looks like a fantastic morning at the Magic Kingdom, but really, aren't they all? No better way to start your park time. :thumbsup2

yeah i was kinda shocked it went on sooooo long! i asked a cm cus we tried to get all the trees at the various resorts and she told me jan 2nd stuffs done.....um yeah....lol it was nice, altho still not xmas to me since we didnt have our usual tree at home. but i think i needed a bit of xmas music deprogramming by the end of it.

not that itll stop me from going back in 2 christmases......

It was a wonderful morning! Yes it really makes you appreciate the details when they change so fast, and dramatically!

We might do Christmas some year. It would be amazing to see the lights!!!

We scrambled off the train, and right down to grab a set of Splash Mountain fastpasses for later! :cool1:

After that we decided to walk over to adventure land to explore a bit! On the way however, we had to pass a very sad sight.

A closed Big Thunder Mountain Railroad. :sad2:

IMG_5868.jpg

However, I was quickly distracted by something shiny…. Well lots of something shinysss

IMG_5869.jpg

I had never seen this before and loved it! I found a mermaid pin (my main collection) that I had never seen before, and happily traded with the nice cast member.

Yet again I was distracted by shiny things, so Josh and I pulled out my list of pennies, and squished on that I didn’t already have!

IMG_5870.jpg

At this point I was really getting into this being spontaneous thing, and we started to wander over to Adventure land.

Lots of construction going on!

IMG_5871.jpg

Once we got into Adventure Land it was time to find some adventure with the Pirates of the Caribbean! It was pretty much walk on, so in we went!

IMG_5872.jpg

I made the mistake of stopping on the way to take these photos:

IMG_5873.jpg

And with flash

IMG_5874.jpg

I say made the mistake, because when we stepped back into line, we separated one girl (maybe 17) from her family. We didn’t realize it until we were in a space too tight to wait for them to all pass. She was shrieking at them in Spanish to push past us (based on her motions, and pointing at us) to catch up to her. They were yelling at her to come back to them. Finally she let Josh and I pass, and on to the boats we all went!
It was as always, a wonderful journey!

we liked that pin trading stand too - I hear it's open when BTMR is closed. Cool that you collect mermaid pins! This was my first time really trading (and my kids too) but I'd love to form a real collection like that.

I'm here a little late, but I LOVE the photos of AKL. Just beautiful!

I do collect lots of other pins, but my main objective it to find all the mermaids!!!!!!

Yoooohooooo!!!! It's me! (I've been following all along but haven't commented- last time I'm pretty sure I got points! ) Anyway, I saw your trolley pics and you wore a pink shirt that day, the first pic, there is a girl with a pink shirt. I looked and thought "HOLY CRAP YOU GOT TALL!!!!!!"....then realized she is not you.

I was wondering if that photo would confuse anyone :lmao:

I don't think I will ever be tall :sad1:

I am intrigued by the fantastic rolly pin box outside of Thunder.

You think its always there? I hope I'll be able to see it next week! It might make up for Thunder being down one tiny bit.

Glad you got everything sorted out at POTC and didn't end up breaking up any families! :rotfl:
