Hi,
I was wondering if someone could tell me about the photo packages on DCL. I am not interested in the CD....too expensive.

Please forgive me for all the questions.:goodvibes

I had read about photo credits. I saw another thread that talked about an $89 pre purchase that is only available before you board the ship. Does anyone have a link for this? I cannot find that on their website. :confused3 What exactly (how many credits) do you get for the $89? What do the credits translate to...in other words what is a 5x7, 8x10 in credits? I would love to have at least a few pictures form the cruise. As you can probably tell it is our first cruise and we leave this Sat!!!

Also will their photographers take your picture with your camera as well?

Thanks so much!

Thanks for the link, I have been curious as well. So, are the pre-paid photo credits a good deal? How much is the CD? TIA!

The package gives you a little price cut. We usually buy the 199. We wait until we are on board to buy it. If you don't buy a package, you can buy photos individually as well. One credit for the 6x8 and 2 credits for 8x10. I think a credit is around 10 bucks. You can wait until you have a bunch of photos taken to decide if you want a package or not, you can purchase the package at any time. If you pre pay ahead of time and buy the 89 dollar package you can always upgrade that on the ship as well. Even with the 199 dollar package we usually end up buying an additional print or two :)

Thanks for the link and info. Do you know if the photographers will take a picture with your camera also?

If I have read accurate info...the CD is $299 (for a 7 day)

How much are the 8x10 and the size right under that? Im thinking we are only going to want the formal and semi formal pics, other wise use our own camera

The photographers will use your camera if you want when taking photos with the characters. I don't think they will use your camera though for the professional portrait sessions that they have.

Yes you can use your own camera(at least for the characters-not sure about portraits). There are only 2 sizes 8x10 and 6x8. 8x10 is 2 credits and 6x8 is 1. So about 20 dollars for the 8x10 and about 10 for the 6x8-I THINK. Someone else may know exactly. Most character photos with the exception of Jack Sparrow are 6x8 and formals and family shots etc are usually 8x10. You can only buy the one size they offer of the certain photo.

The photographers will not take a picture with your camera. The character handler will though or you can ask someone behind you in line.

The CD for a 7 day varies. We paid $399 for it on the Magic in 2011. The Wonder has had deals on the MR cruise but it was $399 on our Alaska cruise last year as well. I have seen it posted to be as low as $249 on the MR cruise.

Also, the pictures they take of you in the dining rooms are 8x10, shots in front of the statue or staircase in the atrium are 8x10, anything with a backdrop even if with a character is 8x10 and embarkation is 8x10. The rest of them including those taken on CC are 6x8. It hasn't been asked yet, though usually comes up in this topic, but they will not print something in a different size for you to purchase [an 8x10 as a 6x8]. If you purchase the 8x10, you can buy an additional package with 2 - 5x7s and wallets BUT you can print off the release after you get home and print out whatever size you want for much less than they will onboard.
