DCL Transfer from Resort

Has anyone done this very recently? We booked DCL transfers for our April cruise. I am using a TA and was told that Disney has been working on making sure that people who have booked transfers with DCL will get to the port earlier than usual, so that it is worth while spending the money on the DCL transfers. Can anyone tell me what times they have been getting picked up very recently and what time they were boarding?

She/he is partially correct....if you take DCL tansfers from the airport (MCO) you will get to the port very early...about 10:40 or so. If you take the bus from the airport you can check in for the cruise right at the airport. You will check in completely and even get your KTTW card issued. The earlier you check in at ME desk at the airport the lower boarding number you will get regardless of what port arrival time you were assigned when checking in online. We were on the first bus leaving MCO and we were issued boarding #2. Once at the port all you have to do will wait for boarding to start. The port opens around 11:00 and boarding usually starts around 11:30-11:45.

If you take DCL transfers from WDW you won't get to the port until about 1:30 or so and won't be able to check in for the cruise until you get to the port.

Your TA seems mis-informed. Since 1998, the bus transportation left the WDW resorts between 11:15 and 1, most recently between 11:30 and 12:30. If you have an 11:30 pick up time, your bus will be making additional stops--usually 2 of them. Each bus usually serves 3 resorts, although this can vary with the passenger load that is scheduled at each place.

Taking DCL transfers from any resort will get you to the cruise terminal about 1:30. This info is still accurate as of a month ago.

Terminal B. They will drop you at the upper (departure) area (remember, you are supposed to be catching a plane out!) and you will take the elevator down to the lower level of B.
