Well, no one guessed where we headed first in Future World.
To be fair, it is only marginally more predictable than going to the Circle of Life movie with Timon and Pumbaa.
Yes, we've been to Captain EO before. Yes, we know how hilariously '80s it is.
And that's why we go.
(Also, ALL Wingnut's idea.)
Is the song stuck in your head yet? You're welcome.
Also, we were lucky(?) enough to get to see the whole entire preshow. During which Wingnut just kept saying, "I can't believe Francis Ford Coppola and George Lucas made THIS."
World saved and evil monster turned into attractive woman, we moved on.
Of course we had to go visit my favorite Figment of imaaaaaaaaaaagination next!
And then the leaping fountains.
I love the whole Imagination pavilion area, it's so fun and bright-colored. And awesome flying and gravity-defying water features don't hurt either!
We then made our way past the timeline of progress (I have no idea what this is actually called).
I had Wingnut take a picture of me with the printing press marker, as I love books.
It was around 3:30 at this point (thank you camera time stamp!), and we had a 5:00 ADR at Sanaa. We knew that we wanted to leave enough time for Disney transport, and also knew if we got to AKL early, there's more than enough to explore and look at. So we decided to go on one more ride for today, and then make our way out of the park.
That ride?
Spaceship Earth, of course!
I love Spaceship Earth, even though now every time I go on it, I long for the old Jeremy Irons narration. ("This, our Spaceship Earth.")
(Judi Dench may say that line too, I think she does, but it's just not the same.)
(But I will say that the computers being developed in the garages in California is one of my new favorite scenes.)
My picture came out kind of Swiss-cheesey and crooked. Wingnut's, of course, is perfectly normal.
Seriously? This just doesn't look comfortable.
I think Wingnut is eating in an aquarium here. And I'm in the Alps. At the same table?
A toast, to the start of our vacation!
Or, you know, to the beginning of our future. That too.
We then made our way to the bus stop for Animal Kingdom Lodge, and waited for the motorcoach to arrive.
