I got a free month with getting my DD a fire for her b-day and she wants to download everything that says Prime free but I think I heard it is only like 1 book a month. Not sure of the movies/tv shows. She tells me one thing but I dont want ot get stuck with a HUGE bill till I can figure it out.

I know shipping is free with Prime but what about the other thigns? Can I get the easy to understand version and not the legal version? :rotfl:

HELP!

My daughter got a Fire for Christmas, we actually just finished our free trial. You can only download one book a month, but apps and movies, we downloaded alot during this past month. Nothing additional showed up on my debit card when I did download something.

Just make sure when you buy something on Amazon, Amazon is the seller or else the shipping is not free. It will be clearly stated that something will be considered "eligible for free supersaver shipping" or "Prime". Before you press the button to order anything just make sure the right buttons are pushed for free shipping, and look at the total to make sure the shipping is subtracted out or non-existent. It's really a pretty great service. I had a 3 month trial in 2010 from October-Jan. and I did a lot of holiday shopping and shipping direct w/o additional costs, and for under $25, the usual amount to get free shipping. Happy Shopping!

Don't forget amazon prime is free streaming of 18K plus movies to your laptop, fire, or Roku if you have one of those.

Here's a list of Prime Eligible books:

IMPORTANT!!: You CAN NOT get the books for free from the website! You must open up the Kindle store on your Kindle, search for the book then get it to read for free. You can read one book a month and to Amazon a month would be calendar month, so if you got a free book today (Feb. 1st) and read it you cannot get another one until March 1st.

Amazon also has free streaming movies/TV shows for Prime members. Go to the Amazon site and under Prime it will have Unlimited Instant Videos. I find it kind of lacking compared to Netflix but there may be something of interest to you there.

One book a month is exactly why I will not get Prime. I read like a bookworm. Streaming and apps aren't my cup of tea, so it would just be less to buy some books and not have prime. I'm not saying that i won't ever use them, but I bought it to read off of....and play Angry Birds!

I got Prime because I buy quite a few things from Amazon and I have saved a lot on shipping but just for the books and videos I think I'd pass since to me it's not worth it. I do look at it as a nice additional thing they offer though :goodvibes.

Can it replace Netflicks? How do you get it from the kindle fire to the regular tv
