Have a budget of $3000 or less. Is there such a place for a family of 4 to go with such low cost? I can go to Atlantis for that price but we have already been and would like to try something different. Can't wait to get some feedback!:goodvibes
Thanks
PS....looking to travel this summer, July or August for a week.

Mexico (best value for you money, great all inclusives) south of Cancun. Iberostar Queztal has a lot of fun animals for the kids to see. Try Fun Jet good prices.

There are all inclusive resorts in the Dominican Republic that would probably fit your budget. We love Punta Cana. I usually read reviews on the resorts on trip advisor to see which is the best and which includes the best amenities like motorized water sports.

My budget of $3000 must include air as well. Yikes, the prices for air to Mexico are outrageous!!!!

If you go online to Apple vacations or Funjet and look for your dates -- their prices include air. We have gone with both and have had no problems with either company. We have also booked with Expedia and that has been fine too. Pick where you want to go first and then look into hotels/packages. We have found Cancun/Riviera Maya to be the best prices. We've also been to Punta Cana and Puerto Vallarta. Each is a little different, but fun. August is hurricaine season in the Caribbean -- Puerto Vallarta might be better.

Have you considered a Caribbean cruise? You can fly into Florida, then cruise for 5-7 days. This can easily be done within your budget, as long as you stay away from Disney Cruise line. ;) They are about 3 times as much as Carnival i'm finding out (we are in the process of picking a cruise for Thanksgiving week).

Where do you find decent air to the Dominican Republic? We've seen several places there we would like to visit but the air is outrageous!

I'm scared to cruise....scared of seasickness. I have vertigo :(

If you pick a big ship you should be fine. It's a fun experience. Or maybe Grand Cayman? you won't get an all inclusive but beautiful beaches. or Jamaica?

Still not sure about cruising. We just wen to Grand Cayman this past summer! Beautiful Island!! Jamaica is definitely on the list as well as Cancun or Dominican. Looks like Cancun is winning in price so far but not an all inclusive.

I have vertigo (can't change an overhead light), get very seasick on ferries, and can't ride anything that goes around and around (can't even watch). I'm fine on large cruise ships. We've cruised NCL out of NYC twice, and it was great! The amount of $ you save by not needing airfare is huge. 9 of us took a 7 night cruise out of NYC for about $5000.

I have BPPV (vertigo) as well. I cannot so much as look down off a balcony, but I am fine on cruise ships. I agree with PP, you should be fine on a larger ship. We are cruising in Feb. and we only paid $329 pp, well within your budget (that's for a 5 night cruise).

It is generally cheaper to cruise/fly in an out of Tampa, at least in my experience.

We vacationed in Jamaica a couple of years ago and the prices were good at the all-inclusives. In addition, JetBlue flies direct from JFK to Montego Bay...definitely the way to go! :thumbsup2

We love Mexico and travel there frequently. My kids loved the Great Parnassus in Cancun and we thought it was good value for the money - we went on a kids stay free promo. We also have stayed at the Gran Caribe Real and are returning there in 2 weeks as we love it there and they run kids stay free specials in the summer...............have also stayed at other more expensive resorts, but have always had a good time, even at the budget resorts.

For airfare to the DR I fly Spirit air. Their customer service sucks and have no frills but they're safe and get you there for cheap. I fly out of Ft. Lauderdale so that helps in the cheap factor.
