We are looking to get a 6 bedroom rental home. We will probably have 5 or 6 cars. Can anyone tell me what subdivisions have enough room for us to park?

We spent weeks looking at homes, finally decided on one in Emerald Island, only to get the contract and see there is only parking for 3 cars.

Help....please!

Off the top of my head I can't think of one but it sounds as if you need to see if you can find a home on a community that has a general parking area too.Lake Davenport Estates does but it is not convenient to all homes so I suspect you may find that some of the cars are parked a way from the house you are renting or cut back on the number of cars if possible.

It would be okay to have the cars parked a ways away as long as it is a safe area.

We have people coming from different states and meeting in Florida, so we can't really cut down on the number of cars.

Ok that makes sense about the cars.Another thought is maybe get 2 homes next door to each other? When are you looking for are they popular dates as you can always ask the home owner if they know of another home nearby.

I know for a fact that you can park on the street in emerald island resort.

If it is an odd month you park on the odd house numberd side if its an even number you park on the even numberd house side.

Well that's good to hear.

This is what is on this contract...

Option B: PARKING – Parking is limited to 3 vehicle(s). Vehicles are to be parked in designated parking areas only. Any illegally parked cars are subject to towing; applicable fines/towing fees are the sole responsibility of the vehicle owner.

So it freaked me out a bit.

The last time we stayed in Emerald Island we parked our extra cars in the condo/townhouse area. This is located at the front of the subdivision. One of us just drove the other to get their car. It worked out for us. A small inconvenience, but it worked. We were also told we had too many cars (we had 5 too) so this worked for us. All of the complexes have limited parking. I was allowed to park directly in front of the house (which was a surprise). In previous subdivisions I rented in, we couldn’t park on the street. If we have to, we will do this again.

I thought about this but I remember (but could be wrong) that when we stayed in a townhouse we needed a code to get into that area.

Am I remembering wrong? If not, how did you get the code?

Yep, Deb knows what she's talking about. When we stayed there I remember the signs telling you this plus the fact that I backed into a car parked on the opposite side of the street from the home we rented.
We had to park on the street also because there were 4 vehicles sometimes.

No, that wasn't very nice of them.;) Our rental was a brand new Grand Caravan. It didn't look as new when we took it back. A few extra inches and I would have missed the car altogether, as it was I sideswiped it so both vehicles ended up with scrapes along the sides. My own fault for not checking the blind spot better. Lesson learned (the hard way).
