We just moved to a tiny and very poor school district. I want to help spread what little money they have. I don't want a debate. I don't think every child should get a medal/ trophy just for participating. BUT, thats a whole other thread ;)

Anybody know???

Another question for our new school district... Are there grants for this? This school where we just moved has a limited number of AR tests. The principal says they can't afford to buy the unlimited AR tests. Are there companies out there that would help with this?
The town doesn't have much money running through it. There is one pizza place and one gas station, so not much help there.

When I get things online, I use trophydepot.com (I found most online trophy stores to be similar in price). I do have a local place that I use more often though. The best deals are when you order a bunch of the same trophy or ribbon.

I wonder if you could find a more afluent area that might donate old trophies? DH coaches a few teams here, and it kills me that we throw out almost half of the trophies, because he gets boxes of 20, and there are 10 - 14 on each team. We also threw out all of his participation trophies - just don't have room for them.

I have used crownawards.com in the past. They are pretty reasonable in price and extremely fast. Just beware of the shipping costs, those are really high. Make sure you are over their minimum amount to qualify for free shipping. It may be cheaper to buy some extra "blank" trophies just to qualify.

Pm me, I work in the teamwear business and may know someone who could help.

Maybe contact Irish Dance schools in your area. My dd's have collected a TON of medals/trophies. Many are generic (not specific to Irish Dance). Perhaps some of those schools have dancers looking to clear out some. In fact, if a feis is being held nearby anytime soon, they might set up a "medal drive/trophy drive" for you but you'd have to drive there and pick them up after the event.

whoops, meant to start a new post with this one.

As far as going some place to ask for left over trophies or medals, its not really an option. We live in Brandywine, WV and in the middle of a valley. The closest big town is an hour away, over a mountain.

I think if someone was willing to contact some dance schools, and donate the driving time, you could get your medals/trophies VERY cheaply (the cost of the gasoline to drive there and back. Might even cost less than getting donated ones shipped to you.)
