Why Not Just Queue Up Another Disney Trip? Link to New TR 6/24 p136!

The soccer banquet sounds great! Congrats to Nick on being chosen captain!

It's crazy how long that TSM FP line can get! Not to mention that you can get trampled as you head over there

Glad you enjoyed the new Star Tours. I think it must be somewhat addictive. Dale and Caitlin rode 3 times in a row in August.

I love all the pictures of the ToT :thumbsup2 and the ones of you and Nick at the animation building are really cute!

Nick is quite excited. There really aren't a lot of upcoming seniors on the team, but he is thrilled none the less. He was also named a DIAA scholar athlete (Delaware interscholastic athletic association), so that's quite an honor and will look good on his college apps.

I ate some of the left over pasta last night and it was yummy!

That was my first experience with a line THAT long. Thank goodness that those CM's had it totally under control.

Let's just say that I could have ridden it many more times and not gotten bored. It was really fun!

I love all the pictures of the ToT :thumbsup2 and the ones of you and Nick at the animation building are really cute!

I was happy I got the camera settings mostly right to take those indoor shots.

I'm glad you like the ones of me and Nick - thanks!

First of all congrats to Nick!! No doubt he'll make a great captain!! WOOT WOOT!!!

Loved this update...I'm hoping with the soft opening of DHS a bit earlier (shhhhh we don't want word to get out LOL) ;) that we won't have to deal with the long long lines of TSM!! I love that ride!!

Isn't the new Star Wars FANTASTIC!! I love it!! I am a big Star Wars geek (just got Darth Vader as the voice on my GPS) so I love to ride it over and over and over again!!!!

Thanks Jen. He is very excited. This kid loves playing soccer. The team is not the greatest, but they certainly are a nice bunch of boys and that's more important.

I heard about that so perhaps that's why I got in such a long line. I know we where there at park opening. Well, this summer I will be absolutely sure I am there well BEFORE park opening. I won't be the first at the turnstiles, like you, but I'm definitely shooting for an earlier arrival.

I loved it and I certainly could have ridden it over and over again. Where were you when I needed you? :rotfl:

MEK, you got a lot accomplished on Day 1 -- very impressive.

I have never seen the line that long for FP's for TOT...that is just crazy.

You do look rather "bored" in your TOT picture. ;)

I love the hat in the dump shop at the end of TOT. That is one Mark missed trying on and I hope it is still there in September.

How could the men not want to go to Starring Rolls for lunch? It is so good and the cupcakes are heavenly.

I've waited in that TSM FP line before. It's hit or miss. Sometimes it doesn't take that long to get through and then other times it goes really quickly. But I think it's worth it if you can get early(ish) FPs.

Love all of your pictures. If people were grumbling because you were slowly taking pictures, let them grumble. We move too quickly in this society. Slow down people!

Nice job getting so much done right away! I appreciate the TOT pictures, because I will NEVER ride it. I may go through the line just to see it and go out the chicken exit if I have time someday.

The picture of Nick looking at you is adorable! Congrats to him on being chosen Captain!!
Oh, How could they pass on Starring Rolls??? Are they unaware of the cupcakes? I'd go just for that!

You sure got a lot done on day 1 Mary Ellen! :thumbsup2

Lol you are not the only one to get in the wrong queue at the turnstiles - it happened quite a bit on our trip as well!

Wow at how far back the TSM line was - crazy!! :scared1: I'm glad you got to ride Star Tours and love the ToT photos - brings back great memories ::goodvibes

Very accomplished first day indeed!!

I too was very impressed with the efficiency of the CM's at TSM. It definitely helped!!

I also tend to pick the longest line possible! The one with the kids I didn't see or the people who don't understand how to put their card in. Everyone else it seemed throughout the trip were on the other side of the gate in the park and I was still in line. Oh well! At least I know now I'm not the only one! :rotfl:

Mmm, we actually did try Starring Rolls this time for lunch. I hope you got to have it too!

Hi Friends:

I felt like I should do a quick "life" update since I haven't had time to do a real update.

I also made a new "2012" cover to my Disney travel book. These pictures stink, but you get the idea.

YAY for meeting fellow DE Dis'ers :) looks like you all had fun!

Congrats for Nick - Captain! yay!

How nice to be able to decorate your new home away from home. I like your pics, but of course am partial to this print myself
400156293262

though its interesting ..... we have the statue of the same, and do you know what is missing on the police officer's uniform?

So do you just make one travel book per year and put all of your assorted trips and mini trips in it? I was cleaning the office over the weekend and debated to keep or not to keep past years' trip planning binder. I kept them. they are good references! and a fun tie in to the pictures etc from afterwards.

WOW you got a lot done on your first day and a half! I will have to remember to send Joe & Colin over to star tours first thing -- they won't have patience to wait for TSM FP's, and I don't have the stomach for riding simulators. they are far worse than actual roller coasters for me. thanks for the tip!

TOT -- if you see me, you will have an easy target of picking out the screamer :rotfl:i think its half the fun of riding a crazy ride! but funny laughter filled screams, not usually horrified terror screams:scared1:

BTW - the police office is missing a gun. he has a holster on his gun belt, but no weapon. interesting.

Love the update. ToT is one of my favorites! I wasn't able to go this time because that Star Tours made me quite dizzy. I was not pleased. I think it was because we did it two times in a row, but I wasn't able to to either ToT or RRC. :sad1:

About AKL and the safaris. The Sunrise Safari which includes breakfast at Animal Kingdom you have to be club level. The sunset/Wanyama Safari is available to all guests at AKL and that one you go on the grounds of the lodge in a truck with two animal keepers and they give you an extensive tour. Afterwards you have dinner family style at Jiko which includes wine tasting. Either experience I greatly recommend. If you need prices I can let you know.

yay, I could finally catch up on your TR now that the boards are moving at a regular speed for me today. They were so slow for me for a while there.

I find it funny what the security person told you when you said you were eating at B&C. I am suprised they weren't stricter with the parking considering it was the holidays.

I can't wait to ride Star Tours! I can't believe that the TSM stampede is still that bad. I would have thought that the hysteria would have died down by now. We have been at that point in the FP line many times. Usually I have my husband run ahead while I walk a litle slower with the stroller. And I still usually have the stroller parked and am waiting at the standby entrance before he is done with that line. We wouldn't do the FP at all if it weren't for the fact that we know our little girl likes to ride it again and again.

Love how you have decorated your office. I don't have an office to decorate so the only Disney touch I can get away with is my Disney tees and using my refillable mug at work.

LOVE all of your TOT pictures!! I absolutely love that ride :goodvibes

So many Disers in October!! :yay: I am currently booked at Kidani....will likely try to switch out at 7 months but if I don't that is fine with me....it's been about 3 stays since I have last been there and am kind of missing home  And I guess it depends on who comes with me...

Fun meet at Friendly's.....we have one right down the street from my work :goodvibes

Great morning!!!! But UGH on that TSM line. Major Bleh. My crew isn't wild about lunch at Starring Rolls either, although I found it rather good. Breakfast though, now that's another story.

Congrats to Nick, that is VERY exciting. And it is nice to see a Mary Ellen smiling picture in there!

Hey - we are all uber planners so we gotta do what we gotta do. I was thinking about Sanaa for lunch in June, but decided on a late breakfast at Boma. I have never had a Boma breakfast and I really want to try it.
I haven't either, that is on my August wish list as well! Cool about the animal sounds at the pool, hopefully I'll get to hear those one of these days! I have a feeling the BWV villa pool is a good noodling spot too!

The other thing is I know a lot of people just get the wrist bracelets and eat around the world. I can't wait to do that. I want to try everything. :rolleyes1

I've only been to Narcoossee's (which I still can't spell) so I would still like to try Citricos and the GF Cafe. Plus tea. I do think I want to try tea, especially if we do stay at VWL. We can do the monorail rounds one afternoon. Maybe even do tea and then pool hop to the Poly, which is one of my favorite activities.

The tea is fun, I'd be up for that!

That TSM FP line is ridiculous! I'm glad to know it moves quickly once it gets going, maybe I'll give it a try sometime! :confused3 I can just never really be bothered, it always seems too annoying!

Wow your ToT pictures are fantastic! Next time I'll have to do what you did, focus on little details instead of trying to get the whole room, or the whole queue! :thumbsup2

I saw it on his thread also, but I'm so glad that you got to meet Captain Oblivious and his family. :thumbsup2

Yeah, unfortunately that's the standard distance for the TSM fastpass line in the summertime when you just miss rope drop....which is what we always seem to do.

I always feel rushed going through the ToT queue also, when trying to get pictures.

I've never seen those ears in the ToT dump shop...way cool!

MEK, you got a lot accomplished on Day 1 -- very impressive.

I'm pretty happy with how Day 1 went. We weren't quite as commando on Day 2, which you will notice soon enough.

I have never seen the line that long for FP's for TOT...that is just crazy.

One of the many advantages to traveling in September. I guess it gets worse at the holidays because EVERYONE wants to ride it.

You do look rather "bored" in your TOT picture. ;)

I may look bored but I was anything but! :rotfl:

How could the men not want to go to Starring Rolls for lunch? It is so good and the cupcakes are heavenly.

I don't think they understood what they were missing. Plus Nick declared that he wanted a "burger" No burgers there I'm afraid.

I've waited in that TSM FP line before. It's hit or miss. Sometimes it doesn't take that long to get through and then other times it goes really quickly. But I think it's worth it if you can get early(ish) FPs.

It's definitely worth it to get those FP's and that's the only reason I could tolerate it. I forgot to mention that they were only letting one person in line for each group. Everybody else had to go wait somewhere else.

Love all of your pictures. If people were grumbling because you were slowly taking pictures, let them grumble. We move too quickly in this society. Slow down people!

I'm not sure if it was as much grumbling as it was having something right on your heal breathing down your neck. :sad2: Personal space people. :rotfl:

Nice job getting so much done right away! I appreciate the TOT pictures, because I will NEVER ride it. I may go through the line just to see it and go out the chicken exit if I have time someday.

ToT has a great queue. It is totally worth seeing. I think it has one of the best queues because its so eery. Nothing wrong with going out the chicken exit IMHO!

The picture of Nick looking at you is adorable! Congrats to him on being chosen Captain!!

Thanks! Nick is so excited about being next year's Captain. We are very proud of him! Thanks for the compliment on the pic.

Oh, How could they pass on Starring Rolls??? Are they unaware of the cupcakes? I'd go just for that!

I don't know. :confused3 I was a little bummed because I know it was the perfect weather to sit outside and eat. I was really trying to do what Nick wanted to do and since he was thinking burger when lunch time rolled around we went that route.

You sure got a lot done on day 1 Mary Ellen! :thumbsup2

I was pretty pleased with how much we got done on Day 1. It was a good day! :thumbsup2

Lol you are not the only one to get in the wrong queue at the turnstiles - it happened quite a bit on our trip as well!

I am glad I'm not the only one. I joke with myself that I should try the longest looking line and maybe it would actually go fast. :rotfl:

Very accomplished first day indeed!!

Thanks! It was a great start! :thumbsup2

I too was very impressed with the efficiency of the CM's at TSM. It definitely helped!!

I agree. They were wonderful. They really kept things moving along and I appreciated that. It really did help.

I also tend to pick the longest line possible! The one with the kids I didn't see or the people who don't understand how to put their card in. Everyone else it seemed throughout the trip were on the other side of the gate in the park and I was still in line. Oh well! At least I know now I'm not the only one! :rotfl:

You too? Those hidden kids are a nuisance, aren't they? :rotfl: I even study people to see if they look competent to put their pass in, but I still get stuck in the long line! :sad2:

Mmm, we actually did try Starring Rolls this time for lunch. I hope you got to have it too!

Did you like it? We didn't eat there and I was a little bummed about that. Oh well, maybe next time!
