Been thinking about a cruise in June, and was getting "good" rates for the June dates I was contemplating, so finally......bite the bullet.......ready to book........

and the price went up over 100 per person OVERNIGHT:sad2:

Do you think this is like rental car and airline prices that change constantly, or have I truly missed the boat?

five of us:sad1::sad1::sad1::sad1::sad1:

Oh, I think you'll be in luck. After the misshap in Italy, I'm betting prices will plummet.

I thought you truly missed your cruise ship by the title. That would be a problem.

Prices on vacations fluctuate. You might find some good deals out for President's day next month. There are always sales and deals around holidays.

Hi Sherry - funny seeing you here, lol. This is Carla - cruisin07family. Which line are you considering this time?

We aren't cruising this summer. I still haven't told dh about booking the Epic for next January for his 50th birthday. I want to wait til Christmas but I don't know if I'll make it that long since that means I will have to plan all the excursions by myself.

We're going to Universal for Spring Break so no big summer vacation plans. I hope your cruise works out! Don't forget to check the 90-day ticker for cheap, last minute cruises at vacations togo. com

Hi Carla!!
NCL again, best rates out of NY
and I want to get on the Megabus as soon as the rates come out

I wish I had paid better attention to the fluctuation in rates last year, I know they went up and down after we booked in early January.... now since it is the "up" in prices I am kicking myself!

Literally missing the boat would be VERY bad!:scared1:
I hope you are right about President's day sales, I am encouraged!

Carla, do you do My Coke Rewards (entering the codes on the caps online?) They are giving away 12 sets of Universal tickets every day thru the end of January....and if you read thru the rules, you can get five free entries a day.... can't hurt to try!!
I want to do Universal, too, just for Harry :thumbsup2

and......hijacking my own thread.......were you the ones who did Segway's in the Bahamas?

I do know about mycokerewards but I'm having NO luck so far! We did rent segways but not in Nassau. We rented them in Port Canaveral but unfortunately, the guy closed up (I read it on facebook). The boys absolutely LOVED the segways! Thinking about that in Nassau? How old is your youngest - I think there is an age restriction for rentals, maybe 12?

If the prices are close to the same, I'd probably do Bermuda rather than Fla-Bahamas again. Bermuda photos are sooooo gorgeous. Plus, it would probably be cheaper there as you can just explore and hang out at the beach.

June is high season for cruises and the prices reflect that. Also, the price of oil keeps going up, so I think cruise prices are going up so they won't have to add on the fuel supplement, which everybody hates.

You can track the prices of cruises on the website cruisefish dot net

Prices are close to the same, but the ship to Bahamas has more fluff for the kids. (rockwall and bowling) My kids are not good at "hanging out", they want to do entertaining things......like jet ski, or snorkel, or parasail...... I was thinking Segways in the Bahamas since Atlantis is outrageous and we swam with stingrays last year, and it is the day after the beach day at NCL's island. My youngest is 13 on Friday:yay:

Barb, can you give me the cliff notes about cruisefish? It alerts you to the price changes, but can you book right from the site?
And is it only showing price changes on the official cruise ship sites? Travel agents seem to have different prices than the official cruise line.

Keep watching. Rates typically drop after final payment date (usually 75-90 days prior to cruise) depending on how booked the ship is. There are also flash sales frequently - just keep checking the rates online.

A site I have used is cruisecompete.com - you enter your cruise, cabin types and agencies "compete" for your business.

I do not think you can book directly from the site. I believe you have to go directly to the cruise line for that. Usually I book directly with the cruise line, then put in my cruise details onto cruise fish and if they send me a price drop via email, I then contact the cruise line for a price reduction. It is easier than checking with the cruise line every day to see if the price has dropped.

Thanks:thumbsup2
I am making myself crazy checking the prices every day...sometimes a couple times a day.......to punish myself for delaying, I guess!:confused3

Hoping they start coming back down......

Thanks, I am hoping for just that.......a rate drop 75-90 days out...:worship:
