Where should we have our onboard Cruise Meet?

We plan to rent from Budget. Budget also has a free shuttle van to take you to/from the ship. Last time we did this the total cost of the rental was $30 to rent at MCO and drop off at the port. Not a bad price. Then we rerented from Budget to go from the ship to WDW and we stayed at WDW for 3 days but I don't remember the rental price for that half.
It was simple and easy so we plan to do it again.

Got mine too! It's still so far away that I haven't really given any thought to the logistics of getting there, to DVC for a few post-cruise, and back! I still need to figure all this out for my October cruise to Hawaii first!!! :confused3

We got our confirmation yesterday. We haven't decided if we will extend the trip beyond the night before the cruise. It all depends on what they offer on the Magic for the Med and the WBTA for later in 2013. If they do 7 day Eastern / Western Med cruises, we want to do a B2B. If that doesn't materialize, we will probably just do the WBTA. Lots of excitement on that possibilty on the "Possible WBTA October 2013??? Preliminary roll call here....." thread.

Hello all! So glad to find this site! Have heard wonderful things about the member cruise so decided to try it out. I have no cabin assignment yet. I will be travelling with my 11 year old daughter. We are interested in the fish extenders as it seems like so much fun. Looking forward to meeting everyone!

I'm with you about the WBTA! I can't believe they haven't even announced if there is going to be one and they already have over 30 pages! Gotta love the chattiness! :cool1::cool1:

:banana::banana::banana:

Haven't gotten a room # yet, but we will be in a Cat 8C. Just didn't want to spend the extra points/$ on a veranda....especially now that DH doesn't smoke anymore, and there's so many other places outside to hang out.

Our anniversary cruise last year, we had the "Adult" area all to ourselves, it was kind of erie!!

Anyway, it will be just me (Kelly), and DH (Gregg), second seating, no rug rats. :) I'm debating doing FE this time. I got a new embroidery machine, so I can think of a million things i can make :goodvibes Can't wait to meet you all!!

Oh, and is white acceptable after September in the Bahamas? Oh, and is it true that they don't have the "Pirate Menu" on 3 night cruises? I wouldn't mind that, so we can visit all three restaurants. Don't think we'll do Palo or Remy this time...been there, done that, got the over $300 bill for frou-frou food when I'd rather have a piece of pizza and a glass of wine. :rotfl:

Where did you go for a $300 bill? :scared1: I would have fainted! Please let me know so I will know to avoid that place! lol

We went to Remy for our our anniversary, and added the wine Pairing. I'm not enough of a food snob for all that to impress me (though I admit we LOVE the Food and Wine Fest!) My DH wouldn't mind going back to Palo, but it wasn't "all that" for me either  I can't wait to see what special things they may have in store for this trip!!

I seat here watching it snow and keep thinking that this time next year i will be at disney world and will have just got off the cruise.what is everyone else thinking right nowabout this time next year?

I'm hoping we'll be able to swim in a warm ocean!

We have dinner at Palo on the Mediterranean cruise in 2010 and it was nice....but so are the regular dinners on the other nights......BUT....this past Sept. we were on the WBTA cruise and decided to have brunch. Everyone on our disboards raved and ranted about the food. We would do that again in a heartbeat! The food was unreal how good it was. We are hoping to make a reservation for brunch again!

Hi everyone -

Have been following this thread for a while now and just realized I never posted. At the moment, the three of us will be cruising. My DS has never gone on a member cruise (we've done 3 without him) and is booked to go, but it will all depend on his schedule. He is currently applying to grad schools and until we know where he ends up, we won't know if he has break then or not. We're keeping our fingers crossed for him. My DH and I will be going, with or without him! We are still discussing our pre- and post- cruise plans. Would love to turn this into part of a double dip, since it's so short. If not, there will be some days at WDW on both ends.

Just got back from WDW around two weeks ago, and the weather was lovely. January can go either way there (we've had some really hot stays, and some really FRIGID ones). Hoping for another hot one next year!

Mindy

Hi all, Just discovered this thread and am enjoying getting to know all of you. This will be our very first cruise of any kind, and I don't know if we'll ever have the opportunity to go on another one or not, so we had to give the Members Cruise a try. If I don't miss my guess, Disney will probably spoil us for any other cruise lines anyway!

Our anniversary is January 12th and it will be our 39th, so I'm hoping for a very memorable dinner on board that night, wherever we end up. We will probably extend our trip with a few nights at Vero or in the parks (we usually bring at least one of our kids and family with us each January so they may be waiting for us on land while we cruise) but haven't decided where yet.

We've already changed our booking category once when I realized that due to my total knee replacement which hasn't recovered as completely as I'd like, I would probably need to change to a HA room, so I'm waiting for our new room number. We'll be in a category 4B on Deck 9 if that narrows it down.

I'm already learning a lot from this thread, especially appreciate the info on ground transportation, and looking forward to good things as the year goes on. Ahoy!;)

Hi,
DSis, DCuz and I just booked this Member Cruise! We look forward to meeting you all on this thread and in person! I will be spending most of January in Florida, and decided to add the Bahamas to the mix. I was thrilled that My friends will join me! DH still will be working, so he's going to miss this one!

Welcome aboard, Bobbi, I've seen you so many times on the DIS that it would be fun to catch up with you in person. Glad you have some friends to come along.

We got our 'new' room assignment...#8090, not Deck 9 as I was originally told...Cat 4B. Anybody else in the neighborhood? :goodvibes

Hi! I want to say ours is 8060.....need to check to confirm!! We are in one of the left front cabins that has the 5' windows.

I've tried 3 times to get the MC logo to my signature.

3 night cruises have had the Pirate night! DH and I have never been able to stay up to see the fireworks. I've asked my DSis and DCuz to keep me up this time! LOL, DSis is likely to be asleep by 9 at home!
